After confessing secrets to each other, Digby helps them escape. They realize they have been going in circles and missed a nearby village. They contact authorities and are rescued, with Adanna and Vincent getting arrested. Charlie and Cisco return safely to the US with pictures of their ordeal.

They drive into the woods, have a bonfire, and wake up the next morning to find Finn missing and their car driving off on its own. Prelim - Construction and Editing

Well’s research and Cohen’s moral panic
Wells conducted a small focus group study in 2000 involving horror film audiences of different age groups. He found that their interests and fears aligned with the real world horrors of their era. Older groups were less scared by graphic violence after experiencing World War 2, while younger groups were desensitized to gore from increased on-screen exposure. Cohen's theory of moral panic posits that the media can define certain groups as societal threats, influencing viewers. The film The Purge uses the moral panics of crime and gun control in America as sources of fear. More recent horror also taps into modern moral panics like online privacy issues in films like Unfriended.
Audience research – analysing my survey results

- Supernatural and psychological horror were most popular genres. Common fears like death, darkness, clowns and spiders will be incorporated.

The film The Purge uses the moral panics of crime and gun control in America as sources of fear. More recent horror also taps into modern moral panics like online privacy issues in films like Unfriended.
Audience research – analysing my survey results

Clover’s final girl theory
Carol Clover developed the "Final Girl" theory to describe the last female character who confronts the killer in horror films, especially slashers. The Final Girl is often a virgin or sexually unavailable, smart, and curious. She survives to tell the story. For example, in Scream, Sidney Prescott fits this role as the intelligent virgin teenager who fights back against the killer across multiple films, growing stronger each time.
Careful use of mise en-scene

- When filming, I took many of the shots and directed scenes that I featured in as well as others. I worked with different shot types and was creative in shot selection. I also filmed scenes multiple times to get the best shots.
- For the trailer, I acted as the villain. This allowed me to direct peers and provide feedback to improve shots and scenes. It kept me busy either acting or filming. It also avoided delays finding another actor due to schedules.
- During editing, I assembled shots and added effects like brightness, color, and glitches. I ensured shots flowed together smoothly like the transition of a character walking into another scene.
Clear links to trailer and magazine cover

Alley way (Potter’s Lane, Streatham) – an alley way for the scene in our trailer when Gracelynn sees the ghost alone. Basement – for when they get stuck in the basement/someone is dragged down. This is the alley way we will use.
