Part 2 - Change life cycle – questions to get you
started
Formulate the change
Identify and clarify need for change
Assess readiness for change
Outline any obstacles that may come up, is the organization ready for change why/evidence
Scope of change
Who is impacted, what in the organization is impacted
Plan change
Define the change approach
What model are you going to use? Align to change and culture
Plan stakeholder engagement
Stakeholders - what does your change team look like, roles/responsibilities
How is going to be impacted – are they going to be supportive/non supportive – how are you going to engage then
Plan transition and integration
How is this change going to be executed, what are the time lines, integration, communication strategy
Remember in plan to ensure that there is flexibility and you are accounting for obstacles
How is this going to be integrated in organization
Implement change
o Preparing the organization for the change
o Define who in the organization is impacted – what support activities required
o Mobilizing stakeholders
o Communication strategy - How will you mobilize the stakeholders, who is important, who
may resist and how will you deal with it
o Deliver project outputs
Manage Transition
o Transition outputs to business
o How will you transition to business, are results being delivered
o What new capabilities need to be integrated into business
o Measure adoption rate and outcome/benefits
o How are you going to measure the intended change – adoption rate, KPI’s
o What performance results do you want to achieve?
o When are you going to measure them?
o Adjust plan to address discrepancies
o What is the plan when there are obstacles? Based on identified obstacles create a
strategy for the obstacles identified
Sustain change
o Ongoing communication, consultation, and representation
o Once implemented – how are you going to reinforce the communication – timelines,
who, when
o Conduct sensemaking activities
o How will you ensure to engage ongoing conversation and implement in social practices
o Measure benefits realization
o Measure success – what does sustained success look like? How will you measure it
