 Tashkent (Uzbequistan)
 Astana (Kazajistan)
 Bishkek (Kyrgyztan)
 Ashjabad (Turkmenistan)
 The geography of Central Asia is very distinct
between big mountains an little rivers.
 Area 4,003,400 km2
The caspia sea
 In this zone there is a big hollow: The Caspian
Hollow.
 Central Asia have big lakes to: Caspian

that is the Ustiurt plateau.
 An other zone is the Kyzlkum desert.
 Among Central Asia's remarkable
biodiversity, some animals and plants stand
out almost as icons of the region, in some cases
icons of past glory only, as many of their
populations are heavily depleted by habitat
destruction for agriculture and infrastructure
such as roads and townships.
(can get to travel more than 8,000
miles on their migration routes from
Central Asia to places as far apart as
West Africa or India)

 Since Central Asia is not buffered by a large body
of water, temperature fluctuations are more severe.
Central Asia spans the area between the Caspian
Sea and China. The topography of this landlocked
region ranges from vast plains to high, rugged
mountains, which influences its weather patterns.
Hence, Central Asia is home to multiple types of
climates.
 The climate tends toward the drier side. And it
can also be one of extreme heat and cold, as it
lacks maritime air masses which would
otherwise moderate the temperature.
 The middle third of Kazakhstan, the western third of
Turkmenistan and most of the western third of
Uzbekistan are considered a steppe climate.
 This semi-arid grassland receives slightly more
precipitation than its neighbor, the mid-latitude desert,
with annual totals ranging from 10 to 20 inches per
year.
