Celeheal (Generic Celecoxib Capsules) is used in the
treatment of Osteoarthritis (OA), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
and Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), acute pain, and menstrual
pain and discomfort. The pain and swelling relief provided
by this medication helps you perform more of your normal
daily activities.
The decision to prescribe this medication should be based
on an assessment of the individual patient's overall risks.

Celeheal Capsules are manufactured by Healing Pharma
India Private Limited in the strengths of 100 mg and 200 mg.

Chemical Structure

The active ingredient contained in Celeheal capsules is
Celecoxib. Each Celeheal capsule contains 100 mg or 200 mg
of Celecoxib.

Uses of Celeheal 100 mg and 200 mg Capsules:
Celeheal (Generic Celecoxib Capsules) is a nonsteroidal anti-
inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat the following: for the
management of the signs and symptoms of Osteoarthritis (OA), for
the management of the signs and symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis
(RA), for the management of the signs and symptoms of Juvenile
Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) in patients 2 years and older, for the
management of the signs and symptoms of Ankylosing Spondylitis
(AS), for the management of Acute Pain (AP) in adults, for the
management of Primary Dysmenorrhea (PD) and Familial
Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP)- (adjunct to usual care). However, this
medicine does not cure arthritis and will help you only as long as you
continue to take it.

Uses of Celeheal 100 mg and 200 mg Capsules:
Celecoxib is also used to treat acute migraine headaches with or
without aura. However, this medicine is not used to prevent migraines.
As the cardiovascular (CV) risks of the selective COX-2 inhibitors may
increase with dose and duration of exposure, the shortest duration
possible and the lowest effective daily dose should be used. Patients
on long-term treatment should be reviewed regularly, such as every
three months, with regards to efficacy, risk factors and ongoing need
for treatment.

Recommended Adult Dosage
The lowest effective dosage for the shortest duration consistent
with individual patient treatment goals has to be used. The
doses can be given without regard to timing of meals.
The dose of Celeheal Capsules (Generic Celecoxib Capsules)
for various indications is given below.
Osteoarthritis: For OA, the dosage is 200 mg per day
administered as a single dose or as 100 mg twice daily.
Rheumatoid Arthritis: For RA, the dosage is 100 to 200 mg twice
daily.

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis: For JRA, the dosage for pediatric
patients (age 2 years and older) is based on weight. For patients
greater than 10 kg to upto 25 kg the recommended dose is 50
mg twice daily. For patients greater than 25 kg the
recommended dose is 100 mg twice daily.
Ankylosing Spondylitis: For AS, the dosage of celecoxib is 200
mg daily in single (once per day) or divided (twice per day) doses.
If no effect is observed after 6 weeks, a trial of 400 mg daily may
be worthwhile. If no effect is observed after 6 weeks on 400 mg
daily, a response is not likely and consideration should be given
to alternate treatment options.

Management of Acute Pain and Treatment of Primary
Dysmenorrhea: For management of Acute Pain and Treatment
of Primary Dysmenorrhea, the dosage is 400 mg initially,
followed by an additional 200 mg dose if needed on the first
day.
On subsequent days, the recommended dose is 200 mg twice
daily as needed.

Contraindications

Celeheal Capsules is contraindicated in patients with a known
hypersensitivity to Celecoxib or any component of the tablet.

History of asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after
taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
➔
In the setting of Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)

Storage Instructions
have to be stored at controlled room temperature i.e.
from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) with excursions
permitted between 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).
Keep this as well as all other medicines away from
children and pets.

Warnings
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Celeheal cause an
increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, including
myocardial infarction and stroke, which can be fatal. This risk may
occur early in the treatment and may increase with duration of use.
Celeheal (Generic Celecoxib Capsules) is contraindicated in the setting
of coronary arterybypass graft (CABG) surgery.
NSAIDs cause an increased risk of serious gastrointestinal(GI) adverse
events including bleeding, ulceration, and perforation of the stomach
or intestines, which can be fatal. These events can occur at any time
during use and without warning symptoms. Elderly patients and
patients with a prior history of peptic ulcer disease and/or GI bleeding
are at greater risk for serious GI events.

Warnings
Hepatotoxicity: Inform patients of warning signs and symptoms of
hepatotoxicity. Discontinue if abnormal liver tests persist or worsen or if
clinical signs and symptoms of liver disease develop.
Hypertension: Patients taking some antihypertensive medications may have
impaired response to these therapies when taking NSAIDs. Monitor blood
pressure
Heart Failure and Edema: Avoid use of Celeheal capsules in patients with
severe heart failure unless benefits are expected to outweigh risk of
worsening heart failure.
Renal Toxicity: Monitor renal function in patients with renal or hepatic
impairment, heart failure, dehydration, or hypovolemia. Avoid use of
Celeheal capsules in patients with advanced renal disease unless benefits
are expected to outweigh risk of worsening renal function

Warnings
Anaphylactic Reactions: Seek emergency help if an anaphylactic
reaction occurs
Exacerbation of Asthma Related to Aspirin Sensitivity: Celeheal
capsules is contraindicated in patients with aspirin-sensitive asthma.
Monitor patients with preexisting asthma (without aspirin sensitivity)
Serious Skin Reactions: Discontinue Celeheal capsules at first
appearance of skin rash or other signs of hypersensitivity.
Premature Closure of Fetal Ductus Arteriosus: Avoid use in pregnant
women starting at 30 weeks of gestation
Hematologic Toxicity: Monitor hemoglobin or hematocrit in patients
with any signs or symptoms of anemia

Possible Side Effects
Most common side effects in arthritis trials with an incidence rate of
2% or more and greater than placebo: abdominal pain, diarrhea,
dyspepsia, flatulence, peripheral edema, accidental injury, dizziness,
pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infection, rash.

Celeheal Capsules Overdosage
Most common side effects in arthritis trials with an incidence rate of 2% or
more and greater than placebo: abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia,
flatulence, peripheral edema, accidental injury, dizziness, pharyngitis, rhinitis,
sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infection, rash.
Symptoms following acute NSAID overdosages have been typically limited
to lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain, which have
been generally reversible with supportive care. Gastrointestinal bleeding has
occurred. Hypertension, acute renal failure, respiratory depression, and
coma have occurred, but were rare.

Celeheal Capsules Overdosage
No overdoses of Celecoxib Capsules were reported during
clinical trials. Doses up to 2400 mg/day for up to 10 days in 12
patients did not result in serious toxicity. No information is
available regarding the removal of Celecoxib by hemodialysis,
but based on its high degree of plasma protein binding (greater
than 97%) dialysis is unlikely to be useful in overdose.

Treatment of Celeheal Capsules Overdosage
Manage patients of Celecoxib overdose with symptomatic and
supportive care following an NSAID overdosage. There are no specific
antidotes.
Consider emesis and/or activated charcoal (60 to 100 grams in adults,
1 to 2 grams per kg of body weight in pediatric patients) and/or
osmotic cathartic in symptomatic patients seen within four hours of
ingestion or in patients with a large overdosage (5 to 10 times the
recommended dosage).
Forced diuresis, alkalinization of urine, hemodialysis, or hemoperfusion
may not be useful due to high protein binding.

Celeheal Capsules During Pregnancy
Celecoxib (Celeheal Capsules) is classified by the US FDA as
Pregnancy Category C (Pregnancy category D from 30 weeks of
gestation onward). Use of NSAIDs, including Celecoxib
Capsules, during the third trimester of pregnancy increases the
risk of premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus.
Avoid use of NSAIDs, including Celecoxib, in pregnant women
starting at 30 weeks of gestation.
