This document reviews literature related to the proliferation of websites and social networking sites. It examines several books that have been written about the internet and how it has impacted society. The objectives of the study are to analyze how the internet affects research scholars by examining whether it provides a better research environment or hampers quality, and how the overabundance of online information impacts researchers. Survey results show that most researchers use the internet for study and research, but also acknowledge issues like legitimacy of information and susceptibility to malpractices. The conclusion discusses how internet access is now essential for research but proper awareness is still needed to avoid issues, and universities must support researchers by updating facilities and integrating digital tools and resources.
