Cataracts are a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision. Symptoms include blurry vision, faded colors, glare, double vision, and difficulty seeing at night. Cataracts can be caused by hereditary defects, trauma to the eye, eye surgery, or develop later in life and are treated through eyeglasses, contacts, magnifiers, lighting, or medication to dilate the pupil.
