4. This case study compares Kiara’s development to
what developmentalist say is normal. The paper
is focused primarily on the physical, cognitive,
language, emotional, and social development of
Kiara. This paper gives examples of how Kiara is
successfully developing normally for her age.

5. Background of the Student
This case study is about a 17 years of age girl who’s
name is Kiara Stephanie J. Pesanos. She is in 11th grade
who is currently studying at Mountain View College
Academy. She lives in P-10 Puerta, Lurugan, Valencia
City, Bukidnon, living with her parents. She’s the only
child of the family, her mother is a house wife and her
father is a carpenter.
6. Physical Development
● According to her mother, at the age of 10 she
wants to learn how to cook.
● Kiara’s favorites indoor activities are playing
piano, cooking, listening to music, writing, and
drawing.
● Her favorite outdoor activities are
workout,softball, and volleyball.
7. Cognitive Development
● Kiara has a good thinking abilities and working
patience, even though she’s afraid of giving her
own opinion to others.
● She’s a fast learner.
● She’s active in the class.
8. Language Development
● She can able to understand the descriptions
and explanations relating to her specific topic.
● Although she can able to form grammatically
correct sentences and put together simple and
complex sentences.
9. Emotional Development
● She feels happiness, sadness, excitement,
fear, anger, calmness, admiration,
emphatic, joy, and anxiety.
● She wants to be happy, but achieving a
state of happiness takes time and effort.
10. Social Development
● She likes to socialize with other people.
● Kiara likes to join with her friends with
their crazy stuff going on and hangout
with them everytime.
● Sometimes she’s afraid to socialize
because she doesn’t wanna get ignored
by other people.
11. Recommendation
As she grew older she adapted the skill of being friendly to other
people, she learned how to socialize and got out of her comfort
zone. She must've encountered different people who are capable
of socializing with other people, she was exposed to that scenario
and adapted what was being acted.
Getting out of your comfort zone isn't that easy, but it isn't that
bad either. It is a stepping for you to know yourself even more,
children must be taught on how to socialize and develop their
skills, because it will help them to grow as the person they want
to become.
12. Conclusion
Therefore, we, the researchers concluded that
Kiara is typically developing adolescent in all
aspects of developmental changes, and she’s still
coping with all her weaknesses especially she’s
having difficulties in socializing with people
sometimes hence, she was having normal rate of
developmental changes.
