Apple is a vertically integrated company that produces IT products like the IMac, iPad, iPhone, and iPod. It was founded by Steve Jobs and has grown very popular worldwide. As a vertically integrated company, Apple controls the entire process from design to production to distribution. While this allows Apple to fully control its products, it also means the company is dependent only on itself. Apple faces competition from Microsoft, Dell, and Alienware in the PC and software space. It has a wide demographic of customers but particularly targets busy professionals.

 What products it produces (cross-media?)
 Apple have become very popular, so popular that
they believe that they are a sector alone.
 Apple is put into the IT sector because all of their
products are IT based such as the IMac, IPhone
and IPods.
 The Products that Apple produces is IMac which
is an alternative to windows because it doesn’t
run on window 7. Then is IPads which a is a
smaller tablet of the IMac. And finally there are
IPhones and IPods which as even smaller
versions of the IPad. All these products sync
together because they all run on the same
software.

3. Steve Jobs
 Steve Jobs creator of Apple
 Born On February 24, 1955 and past away on
October 5, 2011
 He created the first ever IMac in 1998 with its
translucent design shocked the Pc world
 The first ever IPod was presented on October 23
2001 which could fit your pocket and be taken
anywhere. This took the world by storm and now
nearly every house hold has some for of apple
product.

4. Vertically Integrated
 The Apple company is vertically integrated because
everything that is done, is done by their own company and
no one else.
 A benefit of this is that all the profit goes to the company
because they did all the work.
 Another benefit of having the company vertically integrated
is that they can shape the product in there images and to
not be held by any boundaries of other companies.
 A disadvantage of vertical Integration is that if the
company fails then it doesn’t have anyone to back them up
so it falls hard all by its self.
 The final disadvantage is that if their isn't a specific person
that can do a certain jobs then the company is stuck
because they cant ask any other companies for help.

 Apples competitors are:
 Microsoft - the worlds largest Pc’s manufacturer
and software developers.
 Dell - a computer manufacturer for unique and
slick designs.
 Alienware – A power Pc Manufacturer
 Thishas an impact on the production and
distribution because if people are put of apple
product because there is more Pc developers then
less Apples will need to be made and distributed.

6. Demographic
 Apples customers range from families to
businessmen. Apple hits a wide range of
customers because it has something for
everyone.

iPods”
 The demo graphic for apples products is mostly
males that have a busy social and work life and
has to keep everything together with a constant
flow

 Apple vs. Samsung the battle for the
smartphone designs and features. Apple sued
Samsung for copying their designs e.g. the
lock screen.
 Apple has responded to fierce criticism of its
mapping software, saying the application will
"improve". Google Maps had been ruined
wiping things off the map and saying
something were somewhere else.
