Steve Jobs was born in 1955 in San Francisco and put up for adoption. He dropped out of college but attended classes that interested him. He was hired at Atari and helped build the first Apple computer with Steve Wozniak in 1976. Apple grew successfully but Jobs was fired in 1985, after which he founded NeXT Computer and returned to Apple in the late 1990s as CEO, helping turn the company around with products like the iMac and iPod.
