BUSINESS NEED
The Group Program Management Office
had a challenge in projects initiation for
collecting adequately all requests coming
from different users and departments
across the group.
In addition, UBA missed a solution that
could guarantee that all projects are
effectively managed from the initiation to the
closure phase.
The IT Project Management Office, on his
side, had relied on productivity tools such as
Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to manage
their budget and track projects progress.
The ITPMO has been extracting and
sharing the information with corporate
management structure and the different
divisions manually and has been confronted
to deficiency of standardised reports and
reporting frameworks.
SOLUTION & VALUE
After defining technical and business
requirements, Project team started
reviewing project management practices
and processes within the group and then
elaborated a Request for Proposal. The
vendor selection team started in December
2013 the selection process compiling a list
of possible vendors of market-leading PPM
solutions and requested them to provide
detailed information about their products
and demonstrate how they could address
UBA requirements.
