* Government Regulations: Mexico is a member of the NAFTA which has opened Mexico up to
more liberal trade agreements, barriers and tax regimes. The NAFTA has also played a net positive
role in stabilising Mexico s macro economic situation and in laying the foundation for long term

Ecological Restoration At This Site Essay
Late stage shrubsThis site is located on Gunn Road on the outskirts of Matamata, Waikato. A
tributary of the Waitoa River flows through the middle of the site. The majority of the site has wet
soils, and in winter some areas can be prone to flooding, particularly nearer to the stream.
Regardless the ground tends to be boggy, particularly in winter. Consequently, this was historically
conifer forest or swaps (Waikato Regional Council, n.d. b). Currently, willow, grass and blackberry
dominate the majority of the site, with some existing flax plants in the wetter areas. For the most
part the streamis fenced and surrounded by a dairy farm, however often cows still get near the
waterway, due to weak fences. It is clear that this is a degraded site, with little indigenous flora or
fauna. Consequently, there is a need for ecological restoration at this site. Ecological restoration is
the process of managing a site to return it to its historic state in turns of ecosystem health and
sustainability.
The general aim for this restoration is to eventually restore eight hectares of land adjacent to
tributaries to the Waitoa Riverto native forest, with the intention for future restoration projects to
continue along the Waitoa River to develop further riparian zones and forest patches. This will aid
biodiversity across the wider Waikato Region and also improve landscape amenity. A positive
impact on water quality is also anticipated, which will in turn improve recreation values for food

Non-Captioning The Deaf
I want to begin with my opening statement about deaf issue. How come it is difficult for disabled
people especially myself to have access to closed captioning on all video sites on the interest.
Like for instance, people are required to watch a one hour first aid educational video clip before
taking an exam that allows a person to gain a state certification and the chance to be hired at the
Texas Health Center. However, the Texas Health Center would not hire a person with a hearing
disability due to failure on the exam because the video clip does not provide closed caption. People
that are affected by non captioning made a complaint to the Texas Health Center. But the problem
is, the Texas Health Center still has not responded to this issue.... Show more content on

The Bark Side, By Volkswagen
Hump Day quickly caught fire in America with its witty and comical hump backed camel asking
coworkers what day it is (Meet The Logans, 2013). The imaginative and unconventional scene of a
talking camel in an office setting attracts the immediate attention of viewers, who then stick around
to learn why the camel is there, which is when they uncover that this ad was sponsored by an
insurance company.
Another ad featuring an unconventional opening scene was The Bark Side by Volkswagen, which
opened with eleven different breeds of dogs barking in harmony (Volkswagenargoficial, 2012).
The entire video is of this song that this k 9 a cappella group has learned. It is not until the very
last scene, of course, when the car manufacturer who funded the video is revealed.
Uncle Drew is a nearly five minute video of a disguised Kyrie Irving playing basketball with
random people in the park (Pepsi, 2012). Unbeknownst to them, they were playing a professional
athlete and not an elderly man. This original video attracts users through its novelty, celebrity
appeal, and action of the sport, not through its sound arguments as to why Pepsi MAX should be
your first beverage choice.
Crafting videos that have no relevance to the physical product is a common tactic amongst
successful YouTubead creators because the product they are attempting to sell may not have many
differentiating factors to base a strong argument on and because advertisers aim to engage viewers

Summary Of A Doll House And Fences
Discovering One s Self
To understand one s self worth is when someone has attained a sense of personal dignity. A doll
house and Fences are two tragedy prose where the main characters realize their self empowerment.
The two main characters of these tragedy prose is a woman and an African American which are
treated like the minority. Nora is the main character of A doll house who is treated like a doll by
her father and husband. Troy is the main character of Fences who is told by his wife to make a
fence which symbolizes family coming together. Both Nora and Troy in these tragedies have fought
within themselves to understand the world around them.
A doll house is based on Nora understanding how she feels about her relationship with her husband
Torvald. The play opens up with Nora arriving home from Christmas shopping, excited to show
her husband what she has purchased. Torvald will be getting a promotion at his bank so Nora
feels that she gets to splurge a little on gifts. Torvald calls Nora a child, spendthrift, and a lark for
her actions on spending a lot of money. Torvald teases Nora and compares her to her father by
saying the following:
What an odd little woman you are! Just like your father always eager to get hold of money. But
the moment you have it, it seems to slip through your fingers somehow; you never know how
you got rid of it. Well, one must take you as you are. It s in the blood. Yes, my dear Nora, you
may say what you please, but things of that sort are inheritable. Nora proceeds to apologize and
plays the role of the obedient wife. Nora has the right to spend extra money after what she has
been through for the first few years of marriage. Nora and Torvald were very poor. Torvald also
became sick and had to travel to Italy to recover. Nora secretly and illegally got a loan to pay for
the trip to Italy. During the time setting of the play, women weren t allowed to do certain things
without their husband s permission such as take out loans. Nora has been working extra hard to
pay back her debt and the promotion that Torvald will receive will help Nora become debt free.
Later in the play, Krogstad enters to speak to Torvald. Krogstad is a lawyer, works with Torvald at
the bank, and is the

Pliny The Elder Summary
INDUSTRY S KNOWLEDGE OF THE HARMFUL EFFECTS
Numerous authors believe that the risks associated with asbestos exposure were known more than
2000 years ago when Greek Geographer Strabo pointed out that slaves who wove asbestos into
clothes developed a sickness of the lung and that a similar observation was also made on asbestos
miners, by Pliny the Elder, a Roman naturalist.3,9,120 However, Browne et al describes Strabo s
and Pliny s stories to be inaccurate due to mistranslation. He points out that Strabo was referring
to arsenic disulphide, and that Elder Pliny was referring to sulphide of mercury, and not
asbestos.121 Regardless of the accuracy of these anecdotes, there is a myriad of evidence of early
knowledge of asbestos s health danger. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Daniel Jenkins, testified for the asbestos insulation manufacturers for several years. Also, Dr.
Leary, a physician specialized in chest diseases who worked for Travelers Insurance Company,
diagnosed Tomplait with emphysema, and did not mention asbestosis. Leary s finding was
completely refuted when Dr. Selikoff reviewed Tomplait s X rays and said that his diagnosis of
extensive pulmonary asbestosis is as certain as anything can be in medicine . Asbestos
manufacturing companies and their lawyer similarly, denied knowledge of the association
between asbestos exposure and lung disease, and argued consistently in every lawsuit that this
association wasn t known until Selikoff s landmark article that was published in 1964. It was
made conspicuous, however, that literally hundreds of studies were published in the 1920s and
1930s on the association between asbestos exposure and asbestosis. Stephenson was also able to
compile a bibliography of 86 articles on asbestosis most of them published before 1938. Another
example of the unethical conduct was what Dr. Cooper (an occupational health professor) said
about not being able to have known that a 15% asbestos product would be unsafe in 1961, and
that the early studies conducted in England, were on workers who were exposed to a lot heavier
asbestos dust. Dr. Cooper also referred to a study conducted in 1945 by Fleisher et al that found
low incidence (0.3%) of asbestosis among asbestos pipe covers (3 out of 1074). Despite the low
incidence, the authors recommended the use of exhaust ventilation and to keep the total dust
concentration low. In Fleisher s study125, the majority (95%) of workers had been employed for
less than 10 years, way less than the needed latency period to develop the disease. It is also a

INTRODUCTION: The Mattress Company Simmons wanted a hot new bed to sell, so they went

the two teams were brilliant with creative energy on both sides. Then IDEO went off to work on
the prototype. A couple months later they came back to Simmons and showed off the prototype in
a big, classic IDEO pitch. The response from Simmons was not positive though they knew it was
good, but Simmons had no ownership over it.

The Simmons Project and Product Strategy:
The Simmons phase0 began in March 2000 when the manager of Simmons approached IDEO to
find new opportunities for the mattress company. Product Strategy was divided into 3 phases:
Phase0a: It was basically entailed targeted multidisciplinary research. Both parties had a meeting
and afterwards IDEO began field research about mattress market like users, behavior, environments
and need.
Phase0b: It was focused on the bed and its associated space, furniture and objects acted as a system
to support the user in different stages of need.
Phase0c: Finally the team expanded upon the singles opportunity area by turning the ideas into
nascent product concepts that connected to value propositions and described the product s fit to the
user s life.
Problems and Reasons: Though the management of Simmons liked the hard work and presentation
skills but they were not happy about their less involvement. Though IDEO team really put lots and
lot of efforts to analyze the market but did not focused on relationship and Simmons was the

Simmons didn t reply:
1)They have to automate their manufacturing process for new segments and they may have concern
about their profits from new segment of youth singles.

Land reform: involves the changing of laws, regulations or customs regarding land ownership.
Land reform may consist of government initiated or government backed property redistribution,
generally of agricultural land. Land reform can, therefore, refer to transfer of ownership from the
more powerful to the less powerful, such as from a relatively small number of wealthy owners with
extensive land holdings such as plantations, large ranches, or agribusiness plots to individual
ownership by those who work the land (Rosegrant Hazell 2000).
Land reform may also entail the transfer of land from individual ownership even peasant
ownership in smallholdings to government owned collective farms; it has also, in other times and
places, referred to the exact opposite: division of government owned collective farms into
smallholdings. For example, in Zimbabwe this process of land reform is in progress whereby the
government is take land to the white and gives it to the black native Zimbabwean and the
government is trying to do this to make sure that poor people do have land to cultivate hence
reducing poverty since the large area of land was controlled by the whites.
Another issue is of land tenure reform which is also under the same land reform program. Land
tenure is system how land is owned. It is important for the government to put policies

Chris Argyris Theory Of Personality And The Organization
Talent management grew to be recognized in the 90s, but can be traced to the 1950s and 1960s in
the form of three management theories namely: Chris Argyris theory of personality and the
organization; Frederick Herzberg s two factor theory; as well as David McClelland s concept of
achievement and orientation theory.
i)Chris Argyris theory of Personality and organization: argues that corporate role expectations had
become stifle. The consistent development of individuals implied increasing responsibility and
emphasis on job space as well as five horizons but jobs limited responsibility were over specialized
and reduced below time expectations. Authoritative managements alienated employees within the
workplace. Most employees lost interest in their jobs and most had high levels of turnover

How Does Prospero Present The Power In The Tempest
Act 1 Scene 2 (15 190)
It is during this scene that we are introduced to Prospero as a figure of power through his magical
ability to be able to manipulate the world around him and his control over Miranda, Ariel and
Caliban. We also see Prospero s manipulation of the present by manipulating the past so that he can
enforce a certain perception into the minds of those around him. This is most evident when he
retells the story of his bothers usurpation, using terms such as perfidious , but then assuring
Miranda that he loved his brother. He repeatedly insists that Miranda focus on him, demanding her

They now are in my power... Prospero again asserts his power over man, as his magic is a force
which they cannot match and thus makes him an unbeatable foe. However, the power he has is
of magical origin, so again he uses manipulation to get what he wants. As the play progresses we
are yet to see any element of Prospero that is not either focused on revenge, or on upkeep of
control and power.
Act 4 Scene 1
The scene contains The Masque of the play in which Prospero, though his magic, throws a
betrothal masque for Ferdinand and Miranda. However the masque is interrupted through as he
remembers the plot against his life. He is subsequently drawn from the illusionary world of the
masque and brought back to reality. However, the symbolic representation of leaving the illusion of
the masque is substantial in that is is representative of Prospero s entire reality. Yea, all which it
inherit, shall dissolve;
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Through the grandeur perfection of the masque Prospero
acknowledges that the world he has created through magic and power on the Island is nothing more
than an illusionary reality that is essentially insubstantial. This realization teaches Prospero that
even his powers have limits, and despite the fact that he has skillfully crafted the world around him
it is still imperfect.

The Signing of the Magna Carta Those in our country that teach about the United States
government will at one point bring up the signing of the Magna Carta as a pivotal point in the
establishing the principle of the government is accountable to the laws of the common man. Before
this point the king sat on high and dictated how people were to live there lives alongside the
church while not being held accountable to the laws that he made. This lead to great resentment
when a king was seen as tyrannical. So the Magna Carta or the Great Charter was created to help
curb the King John II of England when he wanted to continue the war with France, set boundaries
on what the king could do without the consent of the council , and bind the ruler of the land to his
subjects in such a way that he had to obey his own rules. In the time leading up to the signing of
the Great Charter King John had lost his holdings in France after several unsuccessful military
endeavors. To help reclaim these holdings King John demanded that his barons provide him with
more men and money to take the land back. However he did this without forewarning his barons
about the increasing demand that he was placing on taxes and levies. The barons then thought that
they were being wronged by the feudal system and that the king was not upholding his end of the
deal. In addition to this when King John could not get his money he cracked down on

I. Methodology in the History
This period, which deals with the world the Indians knew before the arrival of European explorers,
poses difficulties flowing mostly from the lack of the usual evidentiary foundation for doing
history: written documents (for example, letters, speeches, treaties, constitutions, laws, books,
newspapers, magazines, almanacs). This lack need not be a major obstacle to historical study,
however. Indeed, one of the most important things we can accomplish in teaching this period is
devising ways to give students a sense of the spectrum of methods that historians use to investigate
and understand the past. We can give students a sense of the breadth and depth of the historians task

One last preliminary question: What is a culture? What do we mean when we talk about a given
people s culture? James Axtell has provided a definition of culture that, in many ways, illustrates the
problems of grappling with this slippery concept:
A culture is an idealized pattern of meanings, values, and norms differentially shared by the
members of a society, which can be inferred from the non instinctive behavior of the group and
from the symbolic products of their actions, including material a artifacts, language, and social
institutions.
The following reworking of Axtell s definition may make it more accessible and useful:
A culture is the body of ideas, ways of looking at the world, values, and standards for conduct and
behavior that a given people or nation hold in common. It includes the range of meanings that
people assign to their own perceptions and behavior, as well as to the natural world around them.
We can define the elements of that culture, and understand how they fit together as a culture, by
examining that people s customs, language, religion, material artifacts, and social and political
institutions.
That Indian peoples lacked some of the elements of European

was first developed. The basketball changed a few times before they came up with the perfect

who is fouled can t shoot the free throw, the other team coach selects the free throw shooter from
the 4 players on the floor. The coach of the fouled player used to be able to select any player

Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragettes
Separating Right and Wrong: Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragette Movement
Women s suffrage has been one of the unsolved problems of the last two centuries. Today, many
countries constitutionalized women s right to vote; however there remain a few that outlaw it. This
ban resulted in women fighting for the right to vote in the 19th century, which gave birth suffrage
movements. While the suffragettes were emerging from all around the world, The United Kingdom
was the heart of the movement, with Emmeline Pankhurst as one of the main figures and she played
a crucial role in women s suffrage in Britain; however her work has been criticized and argued by
historians for their militant tactics and their effectiveness. To this date, it remains arguable... Show

Other women all around the world began protesting under the name of Suffragettes and the
movement quickly became epidemic. While there were many approaches in history for the same
purpose, United States, Ireland, Canada and many more women around the world adopted the
methods of the suffragettes to their own cause. The reason why the British suffragettes influenced
so many other women is explained in a research paper by Laura E. Nym Mayhall as ...Once the
Liberal government introduced forcible feeding as an antidote to the suffragette hunger strike,
militants created a visual activism, dependent upon the exhibition of women s tortured bodies as
spectacle. By this account, the activities of the WSPU became exemplary of what critic Barbara
Green has called performative activism and visibility politics in early twentieth century feminist
praxis, creating almost entirely feminine communities where women celebrated, suffered, spoke
with, and wrote for other women, and that allowed women to put themselves on display for other
women. Many women in the 19th century looked up to Emmeline Pankhurst, listened to her
speeches, went to her propaganda walks and adopted her methods and women in Britain gained the
right to vote in 1928, for men and women over 21, without any other requests of marital status or
property, as other countries followed

Group Project Reflection

group projects. I always found these projects to be a rewarding experience because it was not only
an opportunity to contribute my experience and ideas to the project but also listen to experience

Abstract:
This case study examines the community relations efforts of Nike Inc. This project gives an
overview of the company and shows how the community relations programs can be developed
globally. It also consists of the comparison between Nike and Toms. Finally this case study also
includes and insight on an interview, suggestions and an evaluation.
Nike is a multinational corporation founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman in 1964. Nike
produces, markets and sells athletic footwear, apparel and other accessories. Even though they
have a great reputation with their products, Nike is not seen as a good corporate citizen. Nike
does not have enough campaigns that they do globally, especially in Asia after allegedly being
accused of Violating Labour Laws in 1996. Nike was involved in Child labour. The only active
campaign they have running globally is the Active Schools Campaign.
There are many strategies and tactics that Nike could use to build back their reputation and regain
the consumer base they lost when this issue started. With the large social media platforms Nike has,

The Importance Of The Palladium Ballroom
Landmarks offer valuable insights into the values of the community, indicating what pieces of their
heritage retains the most significance. When a group of people leave their birthplace, it becomes a
necessity for them to preserve pieces of that which remind them of home. Such is the case for Latin
Americans with the Palladium Ballroom. Located above a drugstore on the corner of 53rd and
Broadway, there is nothing left of the Palladium Ballroom. It was once a popular Latino/a dance
hall, and became known as the home of the mambo (McMains, http://palladium mambo.com
/ballroom.shtml). The mambo, popularized in the 1940s and 50s bears little resemblance to the
basic steps of the modern day bastardization. However, before exploring the details of the ballroom
it is necessary to note the history and cultural significance of it to the New York Latin American
community. In the aftermath of World War II, an influx of immigrants from Latin American
countries found themselves traversing from their homelands to the unknown and heavily idealized
United Statesof America. Cubawas one of the countries that sent the most immigrants to America,

The Effects Of Climate Change On The Country
Introduction
Climate change is one of the biggest issues in the world currently. Carbon emissions since the start
of the industrial revolution have caused the CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere to increase, thus
causing temperatures to rise and the climate to change. These changes in climate are going to have
differing effects according to the country. In this essay, the impacts of climatechange and possible
adaptions to it will be explored for the countries Austria and Guatemala.
Background info
Austria is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is located around 47 degrees north of the
equator and is 83,871 sq km. Austria has a temperate climate with cold winters where rain is
frequent and a moderate summer with occasional showers. The west and south of the country is a
mountainous region, whilst the east and north are mostly flat plains. In 2015 Austria had a GDP of
$404.3 billion, with 4% of the population living below the poverty line. Austria s main exports are
machinery and equipment, cars, oil and gas and chemicals. (ref CIA)
Guatemala is a coastal country in Central America. It is around 16 degrees north of the equator and
around 108,889 sq km. Guatemala has a tropical climate which is hot and humid in low lying areas
and cooler in higher altitudes. Guatemala in mostly a mountainous country, but with narrow flat

Gun Ownership and Gun Control in Canada Essay
Gun Ownership and Gun Control in Canada
The Oscar won documentary Bowling for Columbine has aroused people s awareness of gun
ownership and gun control issues. Should gun ownership be banned or should guns be controlled?
Does gun ownership create a violent society? The answer is not measurable, however, from the
firearm situation between America and Canada, the answer is more obvious. America probably has
the highest rate of gun ownership in the world. In Canada, the percentage of Canadian households
with a rifle is approximately equal to the level in United States. According to the statistics of gun
murder rates around the world from Bowling for columbine , America has 11,127 gun ... Show more

Despite having one of the highest rates of gun ownerships, Canada actually has the lowest crime
rate in the world. Well, a uniform federal firearms control system seems far more important than the
number of gun ownership. In order to reduce the availability of guns, strict regulations should be
addressed. Any occupant who conditionally needs a gun should acquire a certificate from both the
police and doctors. Personal and medical details of gun owner should be honestly provided.
According to the gun control system established in Canada, Canadians who wish to purchase a gun
must acquire a Firearm Acquisition Certificate from the police. In order to obtain a Firearms
Acquisition Certificate, am applicant must provide identification and background information,
including addresses for the past five years. Unlike some American states, applicants are not
acquired to supply medical information to the police.
Apart from applying for gun certificates, the restriction of uses of certain guns should be
regulated so as to ensure no collateral effect. For example, the Canadian FAC system includes
control of restricted weapons and prohibited weapons. Restricted weapons must be stored only in
one s home or place of business depending on terms of the registration certificate. Prohibited
weapons, such as shotguns, sawed off rifles and silencers are absolutely illegal in Canada. In

Molecular and Cellular Behavior
Signal transduction pathways link signal reception with cellular response
Signal transduction pathways regulate what occurs in, between, and amid individual cells. They
are incredibly crucial because they initiate large responses beginning with a single signal. These
chemical signals are called ligands that enter the cell either through active or passive transport. If
the ligand is small and nonpolar (such as nitric oxide, oxygen gas, and carbon dioxide), then it
will simply diffuse through the cell membrane and will attach to an intracellular receptor.
However, if the ligand does not fit into this category it will attach to a membrane receptor. These
ligands are specific to each receptor. This ensures that no ligand will bind to an incorrect receptor.
Once a receptor is bound, a signal is transduced in a way that the cell can acknowledge it. Signal
transduction pathways will fundamentally affect gene expression, change enzyme or protein
activity, and possibly cell death.
Membrane Receptors
Membrane receptors span the membrane of the cell. Since hydrophilic molecules cannot simply
diffuse through the cells to send a signal to the cell, they must attach to these receptors to be able to
send a signal inside the cell.
Ligand Gated Ion channel receptor
Specific signal molecules open and close ion channel receptors that permit the passing of ions in
and out of the cell. These ions include Na+, K+, Ca2+, or Cl , necessary for sending chemical
signals.

Erikson s Psychological Theory of Identity
Erikson s psychological theory of identity is based on a psychosocial model, taking into account
the social environment including peers and family group. According to Erikson, individuals
form a core identity in part via membership in a community. Erikson understood that
psychosocial development was a process, involving a series of stages. Progress through these
stages usually entails a normative conflict or crisis that pits individual needs with social norms
or demands. Erikson identified eight stages of psychosocial development. These stages generally
follow the chronological age development of the individual from birth to death. Each stage is
defined by its normative crisis. The first stage occurs during the first year of life, and involves the
normative crisis of trust versus mistrust. Outcome of this stage is either the ability to trust or
mistrust other people. The second stage of psychosocial development is defined by the conflict
between autonomy and doubt. It lasts from age one to age three. Possible outcomes include self
control or self doubt. The third stage lasts from between age three and age six. It focuses on the
conflict between initiative and guilt. Positive resolution of the crisis leads to a sense of purpose;
whereas insufficient conflict resolution leads to low self esteem. The fourth stage lasts between the
ages of six and eleven. Its normative crisis is between industry and inferiority. Outcomes include
competence or helplessness. During adolescence,

The andragogical model is one s own concept on one s self. | The role the learners experience|
Adults come into an educational activity with both greater volume and a different quality of
experience from that of youths (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 2012). Adults have lived longer
than the youth and therefore their experiences are different. There are some potential effects that
are negative in nature with having greater experience. Mental habits, biases, and presuppositions
tend to develop as experience is accumulated. This may cause one to close their minds to new
ideas, fresh perceptions, and alternative ways of thinking (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 2012). |
The difference in the two models is that is the pedagogical model, the learners experience has
little worth. The teachers, the textbook writer, and the audiovisual aids producer are the only
experience that counts. | Readiness to learn| Adults become ready to learn those things they need
to know and be able to do in order to cope effectively with their real life situations (Knowles,
Holton, Swanson, 2012). The tasks associated with progressing from one stage to the next are
very rich sources of readiness to learn. One need not wait around to be ready, there are techniques,
such as career counseling, and simulation exercises to help induce readiness. | In the pedagogical

Mostly are large consulting firms (more than 30 employees) that offer consulting services to small

Theoretical Reflection On The Gospel Of Mark
For our first theoretical reflection we were assigned to read the gospel of Mark. Taking on this
reading requires an opened mindset and concentration. Reading this passage was hard for me
because when I am in church listening to the gospel readings, I do admit to lack interest. I read
the gospel of Mark to myself first because it takes time for me to analyze and process the event that
occurs in the reading. After reading the gospelto myself I listened to the audio reading. Listening
to the audio version of the gospel helped me find a deeper meaning to the reading. This allowed
me to be part of the reading as if I am there during that time. While I was looking over the reading
there were many factors that went into understanding the reading. I reread certain parts because
I did not understand what was occurring during a certain event. If I had no knowledge of the
gospel and what was happening, then reading this would have been a lot tougher on me. Since I
somewhat know the broad stories of the gospel from growing up and attending mass on
Sundays, it help me have a background going into the reading. There are a lot of small details
about which the events occurred and how people felt back in Jesus s time. The ability for
someone to retell the story of Jesus s life is extraordinary. Following the gospel help me get a

What impact did Act 1 Scene 1 of King Lear have on you?
The first scene of the first act of King Lear had a genuinely dramatic affect upon me.
This first glimpse into the world of Lear and his subordinates sets the premise for the whole play,
unravelling within the first few pages, themes which I believe will become increasingly evident.
The scene opens with the introduction of three characters Kent, Gloucester and Edmund. Of these
three characters the only one who seems not to have been shown in an unfavourable light yet, by
this brief introduction, is Kent. This could be intentional to set It is made clear Edmund is a bastard,

At this point of the scene it can be clearly noticed how similar Goneril and Regan are, as Regan
asks Lear to measure her worth as he measured Goneril s. This closeness seems symbolic in a way
to the close knit coven in Macbeth, as these women seem to have underlying deceptive qualities.
Before considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril
and Regan s speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience
would be able to hear Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief
that her love is more ponderous than her tongue. Her indecision over what to say to her father
shows really how much she does not want to offend him, but instead she does the opposite, as he
cannot see beyond his pride, to her loyal words.
When she says Nothing , she is indicating to him that he should no the worth of her love for him.
The king, shocked with this appearance of ingratitude in his favourite child, desired her to
consider her words, and to mend her speech, lest it should mar her fortunes. Cordelia then tells
Lear that she loves him according to her station, and as much as he loves her as his daughter. She
is as she says young...and true . Lear is obviously hurt but it seems, due to the severity of his
actions, that his pride and title have been harmed more. He disowns her and she becomes his

Critical Appreciation Of John Keats
British Romantic Literature Assignment (Semester IV)
Nayan Srivastava (1116)
Keats s Escape from Reality
John Keats, a second generation Romantic poet, is considered the perfect Romantic poet. His works
have been read, appreciated and studied across the world, though this was not done during his
lifetime. Only in the twentieth century did Keats get due credit and respect for the complexity of
his odes, his pursuit of truth and beauty and dealing with human difficulty and suffering.
The Romantic poets, as a whole, strived for perfection. Romanticism grew as an opposition to the
Enlightenment Age or the Age of Reason and as a result the poets focused on emotion, motives and
imagination. Keats is known for his aestheticism, sensuousness and captivating imagery in his
works. On analysis of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ode is the simplest of all his odes and describes the scenes of autumn as a season of
abundance. It has a mellow tone and this ode picks up where all the others left off. The simple
and sincere appreciation of the season and its reflections in nature as well as the calm
acceptance of the upcoming winter project Keats as an evolved individual. Even though a
season too is transient in nature, he is inspired in its fleeting beauty and does not yearn
permanence as in Ode on a Grecian Urn . Keats preoccupation with mortality and death as in Ode
to A Nightingale , too simmers down in this work. The wafting wind is described as living or
dying, and the use of these words emphasize an acceptance on his behalf about the natural
inevitability of this process. Winter is viewed as a season of absolute decay when everything
freezes, and hence To Autumn can be seen as a period prior to the death when one begins to
accept one s fate and does not fear death anymore. This ode essentially provides a serene and
tranquil closure to all the other odes that preceded this and places Keats in a more stable position in

The fact that he could not be adopted by the Phillips and they re attitudes have changed towards
him was the cause of this change of self. We also understand Facey s attitudes towards life when
he says After awhile I pulled myself together and again started off, towards another job I hoped .
This epitomises the Aussie identity of a battler and has become almost seamless with Australian
identity and values. We are again reminded of how young Facey is at this point when Mrs Bibby
sees him and says Your swag is bigger than you are. The swag can be see to represent all the
responsibility that Facey must carry on his shoulder, and to say that his swag is bigger than he
is is to say that he is taking on more responsibilities than someone like him should be taking on.
Nobody knew [it was my birthday]; I hadn t told them as birthdays were nothing to me... I used to
hear a lot about birthday parties from time to time, but who was going to bother about me. This
quote shows the lack of confidence and self worth Facey has in himself, and doesn t think of
himself as being as important as other children. Rifle represents manhood Facey has another bad
experience with alcohol when he returns to the Bibbys and sees that none of the chores have been
done, and dingoes have attacked the sheep. This adds to his morality by turning him further against
alcohol. In this chapter we see that even though Facey is formally

Through every time period I will tell you every event that goes on during that time period and how
long is last. Basically I am giving you a research time lime from event to event.
Lincoln and Andrew Johnson were out of sympathy with black suffrage, especially conferred by
the federal government. Johnson s interpretations of Lincoln s policies prevailed the Congressional
elections of 1866 in the North, which enabled the Radicals to take control of policy, remove former
Confederates from power, and enfranchise the freedmen. In 1876 the presidential vote was veer
confused and forcing the congress to make the final decision. Andrew Johnson announced plans of
the Reconstruction which was referred his stanch unionism and his firm belief of states rights.
President Johnson was an inept politician who lost all his advantages by his clumsy moves. He
broke with Congress in early 1866 and then became defiant and tried to block enforcement of
Reconstruction laws. In the year of 1865 during the month of March the Freedmen Bureau was
established. The Freedmen s Bureau provided assistance to emancipated African Americans

Most Important Factors of Tesco Tesco first launched their international expansion in 1994. After 11
years their sales have grown to contributing 20%(ВЈ7 billion) of the total turnover has been from
overseas sales. The success of Tesco expansion overseas has mainly been down to the strategy of
seeking out new markets in an early growth stage. These markets have few and week competitors

their economy. The government of Malaysia has recently taken action against the large investors
in the retail sector. They have recently put a five year ban on any new hypermarkets being build
in the countries top three cities Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Juhor Bahru. The Malaysian
government have also stated that they are concerned with the negative affect that Tesco may have
on the economy. As a result they have stated that any new hypermarkets that are being planned,
are to submit their plans two years in advance. They have also required a socio economical study
to be carried out in advance. This has effect Tesco strategy as they may have to result in building
smaller stores where there range is less.
Economic factors are those that affect the purchasing and spending habits of the consumer. When
the economy is decreasing there will be less disposable income and consumer spending will

Causes Of Racism In Britain
Another, racist event that is happening in Britain is towards the polish community that live there
(Strybel, 2016). According to Strybel (2016), a man was killed and another three people resulted
injured this happened in attacks that took place in the town of Harlow, in the southeastern part of
England. There also have been other attacks that target polish people just because they are seen
speaking in polish and graffiti that says polish people need to go back home (Strybel, 2016). The
most common types of racismthat polish people face in the United Kingdomare violence, hate
crimes, ethnicity, and not being a citizen (Strybel, 2016). In addition, Strybel (2016) states that
although the prime minister, Teresa May regrets the attacks that are occurring in the United
Kingdom towards and has said that authorities would secure the environment for polish people, this
has not happened and it is predicted that polish people might return home if this is keeps

A Research On Biometrics And Wireless Technique
Abstract The main purpose of the paper is assembling and developing an iris recognition system in
order to verify uniqueness of the human eye of faculty in a college for attendance management
system. This system based on biometrics and wireless technique solves the problem of spurious
attendance and the trouble of laying the corresponding network. Here biometric recognition is
performed with respect to iris because of its unique biological properties. The iris is unaffected by
external environmental factors and remains stable over time. It can make the college staff
attendance management more easy and effective. This paper includes image acquisition, the
preprocessing system, segmentation, feature extraction and recognition.
Keywords Iris recognition; preprocessing system; segmentation; feature extraction.
I.INTRODUCTION
Traditionally college staff attendance management methods were based on physical key, ID card,
password, etc. In all the above mentioned methods there are high chances of keys getting lost,
forgery or passwords may be forgotten. Due to these shortcomings and requirement for high level of
security have led to development of personal identification on next level using biometrics.
Biometrics refers to metrics related to human characteristics. It is used to identify individuals in a
group that ae under surveillance. Within few seconds biometric recognition is able to compare
thousands of records. Biometrics are of various kinds. Iris, facial, fingerprint

Analysis Of Sister Aloysius And James
Sisters Aloysius and James as Representatives of Social Duality The play Doubt: A Parable by
John Patrick Shanley was first staged at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2004 and won the
Pulitzer Prize the next year. In the play, the author touches upon a set of urgent social topics,
such as pedophilia, abuse, faith, and moral considerations. Also, the author dwells upon a
controversial image of a nun with the example of two main female characters of the play, Sister
Aloysius, and Sister James: though having dedicated their lives to the same goal, these women
are entirely different in their experiences, characters, and moral considerations. First, the sisters
have different life experiences and social backgrounds. Sister Aloysius is a middle aged woman,
who was married, but after her husband died in the war against Adolph Hitler (Shanley 1525)
she decided to dedicate her life to God. Being an experienced teacher, Sister Aloysius is chosen
to be the principal of the St. Nicolas School and she successfully holds the position for many
years. During her long life, she witnesses war, death, and many terrible deeds committed by
people. All this makes her believe less of her heart and more of her mind. As for Sister James, the
innocent soul (Cullingford 256) , she is very young and has just started her path as a nun and a
teacher. The lack of experience makes her search for new approaches to teaching, which are strange
and unacceptable for the principal. As a result, the

Differences And Similarities Between Sunni And Sufi Sect
There are many differences and similarities between the beliefs of Muslims who follow Sunni,
Shi ite and Sufi Islam. Both the Sunni Shi ite sects of Islam were formed in 632 CE and the Sufi
Sect was formed in 675 CE. All three sects originated in the Middle East, worship Allah and use the
Qur an as their sacred text. Immediately after the death of the Prophet Muhammed the Sunni sect
was formed and comprised of believers who did not support the belief that Muhammads cousin son

successor to take his place as leader of the Muslim community. They believe that a group of his
most prominent companions elected Abu Bakr Siddique, Mohammad s father in law,

Dental Anxiety And The Dental Depression
A bit hard to overcome, many people have dental anxiety also known as fear of the dentist.
Logical individuals are stopped from seeing a dentist and preserving the health of their teeth.
Preventing difficulties prior to their start is vital for retaining healthy teeth. Problems occur
because people who experience a fear of the dentist will evade going to a dentist. To avoid these
problems such as decay and cavities it takes scheduled appointments with your dentist for cleaning.

Technology Advances And Medical Devices For Consumer Use
Introduction
As technology advances, medical devices are able to record increasing amounts of information.
These devices are also becoming much more assessable to consumers than in the past. In Adam
Tanner s article Health Entrepreneur Debates Going To Data s Dark Side, he discusses the
company Safe Heart. Safe Heart is developing medical devices for consumer use. These devices
are able to measure values like blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, and perfusion index. Being
able to collect these massive amounts of data, places these devices in the realm of big data.
Although the topic of big data imposes its own issues, the medical nature of the data creates an
additional set of important issues. Safe Heart is not the first organization to develop devices that
collect big quantities of data. In recent years, many organizations have begun to capture and use
large quantities of medical data. Hospitals, credit agencies and researchers have all started to use
medical data to the advantage of either the patient or their own corporation. With all the data being
captured, there are legal and ethical issues that become apparent.
Main Issues
The most prominent issue related to big healthcare technology data is a legal one. The Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA), protects health data that is transmitted by a
certain groups and organizations [1]. It states that consent must be obtained from the patient to
distribute any information to a third party. The

Her name is Isabel . She got pregnant at 14 and brought forth a little girl at 15. One night her and
her boyfriend decided to engage in sexual relations. After that night her life changed drastically .
After 4 weeks she figured out she was pregnant. Isabel conversed with a trusted auntie and she
took her to go get checked. She peed in a container and yup those 2 lines came up. Isabel took a
gander at her Aunt and she didn t generally recognize what say. She told Isabel that it would have
been alright. I am regularly frightened when I see an amazingly youthful young lady encountering
parenthood during a period when her fundamental concerns ought to be far not exactly those of
raising another person. The truth of the matter is that consistently more high schoolers are having
youngsters at an alarmingly youthful age. This issue brings up the issue of what should be possible
to forestall and bring down the rates of teenage pregnancy. Keeping in mind the end goal to avert
high school pregnancy, young people need a complete comprehension of restraint, preventative
strategies, and outcomes .Young people who are pregnant can t typically bolster the youngster all
alone. Teenage Pregnancy is a developing issue all around the globe. Despite the fact that the
numbers have brought down, it is still an issue in our general public. At the point ,when teenagers

A Vegetarian Vs. Vegan Essay
A vegetarian vs. vegan? What s the difference? Although the differences may be known by some,
many are foreign as to what distinguishes these two lifestyles. While vegetarians refrain from
consuming an animal s flesh, vegans choose to rid themselves of the consumption and use of
any animal derived products. With dietary limitations established, it is clear that these two differ
greatly, but what unites them is how the lifestyles came to be. As a vegan myself, I have
developed core arguments and values as to why I chose to adopt this way of life. Little did I
know that the very arguments I have made were developed by philosophers and major world
religions. The origin of these diets can be traced back to ancient Rome, China and India. Regardless
of its manifestation, there are others that have hindered its expansion. This paper serves to compare
how the Christianization of the roman empireand philosophers from Greece and Rome either
hindered or contributed to vegetarianisms development. Before we can begin to compare
Christianity with the Roman and Greek empire, it is important to discuss whether philosophical and
religious beliefs fostered vegetarianismor vice versa. The earliest record of vegetarianism was
discovered in the 7th century BC within the Indus Valley civilization. According to a translation
written by Patrick, these vegetarians chose this diet due to their belief in the tolerance of all living
beings.
Along with the Indus Valley civilization,

The NAFTA has also played a net positive role in stabilising Mexico s macro economic situation and in laying the foundation for long term economic growth (Weiler 2001). • 4. Ecological Restoration At This Site Essay Late stage shrubsThis site is located on Gunn Road on the outskirts of Matamata, Waikato. A tributary of the Waitoa River flows through the middle of the site. The majority of the site has wet soils, and in winter some areas can be prone to flooding, particularly nearer to the stream. Regardless the ground tends to be boggy, particularly in winter. Consequently, this was historically conifer forest or swaps (Waikato Regional Council, n.d. b). Currently, willow, grass and blackberry dominate the majority of the site, with some existing flax plants in the wetter areas. For the most part the streamis fenced and surrounded by a dairy farm, however often cows still get near the waterway, due to weak fences. It is clear that this is a degraded site, with little indigenous flora or fauna. Consequently, there is a need for ecological restoration at this site. Ecological restoration is the process of managing a site to return it to its historic state in turns of ecosystem health and sustainability. The general aim for this restoration is to eventually restore eight hectares of land adjacent to tributaries to the Waitoa Riverto native forest, with the intention for future restoration projects to continue along the Waitoa River to develop further riparian zones and forest patches. This will aid biodiversity across the wider Waikato Region and also improve landscape amenity. A positive impact on water quality is also anticipated, which will in turn improve recreation values for food ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Non-Captioning The Deaf I want to begin with my opening statement about deaf issue. How come it is difficult for disabled people especially myself to have access to closed captioning on all video sites on the interest. Like for instance, people are required to watch a one hour first aid educational video clip before taking an exam that allows a person to gain a state certification and the chance to be hired at the Texas Health Center. However, the Texas Health Center would not hire a person with a hearing disability due to failure on the exam because the video clip does not provide closed caption. People that are affected by non captioning made a complaint to the Texas Health Center. But the problem is, the Texas Health Center still has not responded to this issue.... • 6. The Bark Side, By Volkswagen Hump Day quickly caught fire in America with its witty and comical hump backed camel asking coworkers what day it is (Meet The Logans, 2013). The imaginative and unconventional scene of a talking camel in an office setting attracts the immediate attention of viewers, who then stick around to learn why the camel is there, which is when they uncover that this ad was sponsored by an insurance company. Another ad featuring an unconventional opening scene was The Bark Side by Volkswagen, which opened with eleven different breeds of dogs barking in harmony (Volkswagenargoficial, 2012). The entire video is of this song that this k 9 a cappella group has learned. It is not until the very last scene, of course, when the car manufacturer who funded the video is revealed. Uncle Drew is a nearly five minute video of a disguised Kyrie Irving playing basketball with random people in the park (Pepsi, 2012). Unbeknownst to them, they were playing a professional athlete and not an elderly man. This original video attracts users through its novelty, celebrity appeal, and action of the sport, not through its sound arguments as to why Pepsi MAX should be your first beverage choice. Crafting videos that have no relevance to the physical product is a common tactic amongst successful YouTubead creators because the product they are attempting to sell may not have many differentiating factors to base a strong argument on and because advertisers aim to engage viewers within 15 seconds, ... • 7. Summary Of A Doll House And Fences Discovering One s Self To understand one s self worth is when someone has attained a sense of personal dignity. A doll house and Fences are two tragedy prose where the main characters realize their self empowerment. The two main characters of these tragedy prose is a woman and an African American which are treated like the minority. Nora is the main character of A doll house who is treated like a doll by her father and husband. Troy is the main character of Fences who is told by his wife to make a fence which symbolizes family coming together. Both Nora and Troy in these tragedies have fought within themselves to understand the world around them. A doll house is based on Nora understanding how she feels about her relationship with her husband Torvald. The play opens up with Nora arriving home from Christmas shopping, excited to show her husband what she has purchased. Torvald will be getting a promotion at his bank so Nora feels that she gets to splurge a little on gifts. Torvald calls Nora a child, spendthrift, and a lark for her actions on spending a lot of money. Torvald teases Nora and compares her to her father by saying the following: What an odd little woman you are! Just like your father always eager to get hold of money. But the moment you have it, it seems to slip through your fingers somehow; you never know how you got rid of it. Well, one must take you as you are. It s in the blood. Yes, my dear Nora, you may say what you please, but things of that sort are inheritable. Nora proceeds to apologize and plays the role of the obedient wife. Nora has the right to spend extra money after what she has been through for the first few years of marriage. Nora and Torvald were very poor. Torvald also became sick and had to travel to Italy to recover. Nora secretly and illegally got a loan to pay for the trip to Italy. During the time setting of the play, women weren t allowed to do certain things without their husband s permission such as take out loans. Nora has been working extra hard to pay back her debt and the promotion that Torvald will receive will help Nora become debt free. Later in the play, Krogstad enters to speak to Torvald. • 8. Pliny The Elder Summary INDUSTRY S KNOWLEDGE OF THE HARMFUL EFFECTS Numerous authors believe that the risks associated with asbestos exposure were known more than 2000 years ago when Greek Geographer Strabo pointed out that slaves who wove asbestos into clothes developed a sickness of the lung and that a similar observation was also made on asbestos miners, by Pliny the Elder, a Roman naturalist.3,9,120 However, Browne et al describes Strabo s and Pliny s stories to be inaccurate due to mistranslation. He points out that Strabo was referring to arsenic disulphide, and that Elder Pliny was referring to sulphide of mercury, and not asbestos.121 Regardless of the accuracy of these anecdotes, there is a myriad of evidence of early knowledge of asbestos s health danger. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Daniel Jenkins, testified for the asbestos insulation manufacturers for several years. Also, Dr. Leary, a physician specialized in chest diseases who worked for Travelers Insurance Company, diagnosed Tomplait with emphysema, and did not mention asbestosis. Leary s finding was completely refuted when Dr. Selikoff reviewed Tomplait s X rays and said that his diagnosis of extensive pulmonary asbestosis is as certain as anything can be in medicine . Asbestos manufacturing companies and their lawyer similarly, denied knowledge of the association between asbestos exposure and lung disease, and argued consistently in every lawsuit that this association wasn t known until Selikoff s landmark article that was published in 1964. It was made conspicuous, however, that literally hundreds of studies were published in the 1920s and 1930s on the association between asbestos exposure and asbestosis. Stephenson was also able to compile a bibliography of 86 articles on asbestosis most of them published before 1938. Another example of the unethical conduct was what Dr. Cooper (an occupational health professor) said about not being able to have known that a 15% asbestos product would be unsafe in 1961, and that the early studies conducted in England, were on workers who were exposed to a lot heavier asbestos dust. Dr. Cooper also referred to a study conducted in 1945 by Fleisher et al that found low incidence (0.3%) of asbestosis among asbestos pipe covers (3 out of 1074). Despite the low incidence, the authors recommended the use of exhaust ventilation and to keep the total dust concentration low. In Fleisher s study125, the majority (95%) of workers had been employed for less than 10 years, way less than the needed latency period to develop the disease. It is also a ... • 9. Case Analysis-Ideo INTRODUCTION: The Mattress Company Simmons wanted a hot new bed to sell, so they went to the best design firm in the world IDEO to come up with the concept. The first meetings between the two teams were brilliant with creative energy on both sides. Then IDEO went off to work on the prototype. A couple months later they came back to Simmons and showed off the prototype in a big, classic IDEO pitch. The response from Simmons was not positive though they knew it was good, but Simmons had no ownership over it. Both parties had a meeting and afterwards IDEO began field research about mattress market like users, behavior, environments and need. Phase0b: It was focused on the bed and its associated space, furniture and objects acted as a system to support the user in different stages of need. Phase0c: Finally the team expanded upon the singles opportunity area by turning the ideas into nascent product concepts that connected to value propositions and described the product s fit to the user s life. Problems and Reasons: Though the management of Simmons liked the hard work and presentation skills but they were not happy about their less involvement. Though IDEO team really put lots and lot of efforts to analyze the market but did not focused on relationship and Simmons was the company looks for the inspiration within its own realm. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Land reform: involves the changing of laws, regulations or customs regarding land ownership. Land reform may consist of government initiated or government backed property redistribution, generally of agricultural land. Land reform can, therefore, refer to transfer of ownership from the more powerful to the less powerful, such as from a relatively small number of wealthy owners with extensive land holdings such as plantations, large ranches, or agribusiness plots to individual ownership by those who work the land (Rosegrant Hazell 2000). Land reform may also entail the transfer of land from individual ownership even peasant ownership in smallholdings to government owned collective farms; it has also, in other times and places, referred to the exact opposite: division of government owned collective farms into smallholdings. For example, in Zimbabwe this process of land reform is in progress whereby the government is take land to the white and gives it to the black native Zimbabwean and the government is trying to do this to make sure that poor people do have land to cultivate hence reducing poverty since the large area of land was controlled by the whites. • 32. Molecular and Cellular Behavior Signal transduction pathways link signal reception with cellular response Signal transduction pathways regulate what occurs in, between, and amid individual cells. They are incredibly crucial because they initiate large responses beginning with a single signal. These chemical signals are called ligands that enter the cell either through active or passive transport. If the ligand is small and nonpolar (such as nitric oxide, oxygen gas, and carbon dioxide), then it will simply diffuse through the cell membrane and will attach to an intracellular receptor. However, if the ligand does not fit into this category it will attach to a membrane receptor. These ligands are specific to each receptor. This ensures that no ligand will bind to an incorrect receptor. Once a receptor is bound, a signal is transduced in a way that the cell can acknowledge it. Signal transduction pathways will fundamentally affect gene expression, change enzyme or protein activity, and possibly cell death. Membrane Receptors Membrane receptors span the membrane of the cell. Since hydrophilic molecules cannot simply diffuse through the cells to send a signal to the cell, they must attach to these receptors to be able to send a signal inside the cell. Ligand Gated Ion channel receptor Specific signal molecules open and close ion channel receptors that permit the passing of ions in and out of the cell. Essay on Rigoberta Menchu In the article Liar, Rigoberta Menchu by Dinesh D Souze(1999) he states that anthropologist David Stoll and New York Times reporter Larry Rohter found evidence that Rigoberta Menchu lied in her autobiography and therefore her book should not be used in schools and universities. First of all it is said that Rigoberta Menchu claims that she never went to school but she actually has the equivalent of a middle school education which she received due to a scholarship and attended two prestigious private boarding schools that were operated by Catholic nuns, this was verified by her half sister who also said that Rigoberta could have not spent eight months on coffee and plantation fields and working as a political organizer because she spent... I like many others find the accusations that Menchu lied presumptuous because in my eyes they haven t proved anything and we don t know if the so called evidence can be relied on as the truth because first of all we all know of the economic hardships that the people of Guatemala face and that the person that said that he was Rigoberta s brother could have been paid, also we don t know what the relationship between Rigoberta and her half sister was like and she could be saying things out of spite due to Rigoberta s success. I believe that if these things were actually true why these people haven t come forward in public to discredit Rigoberta Menchu. In the article Guatemala Laureate Defends My Truth By Julia Preston, Mr. Stoll said today that he had never intended to accuse Menchu of lying. He said You can understand and defend her narrative strategy, of folding others experience into her own because she was trying to bring down pressure on the Government and army . Erikson s Psychological Theory of Identity Erikson s psychological theory of identity is based on a psychosocial model, taking into account the social environment including peers and family group. According to Erikson, individuals form a core identity in part via membership in a community. Erikson understood that psychosocial development was a process, involving a series of stages. Progress through these stages usually entails a normative conflict or crisis that pits individual needs with social norms or demands. Erikson identified eight stages of psychosocial development. These stages generally follow the chronological age development of the individual from birth to death. Each stage is defined by its normative crisis. The first stage occurs during the first year of life, and involves the normative crisis of trust versus mistrust. Outcome of this stage is either the ability to trust or mistrust other people. The second stage of psychosocial development is defined by the conflict between autonomy and doubt. It lasts from age one to age three. Possible outcomes include self control or self doubt. The third stage lasts from between age three and age six. It focuses on the conflict between initiative and guilt. Positive resolution of the crisis leads to a sense of purpose; whereas insufficient conflict resolution leads to low self esteem. The fourth stage lasts between the ages of six and eleven. Its normative crisis is between industry and inferiority. Outcomes include competence or helplessness. During adolescence, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On my team I had 2 people over the age of 20 and two people over the age of 15 so I was the youngest. I took the leadership role in that situation because I knew what to do and I knew how to do it. They listened to me because they saw me playing against others earlier in the day. The andragogical model is one s own concept on one s self. | The role the learners experience| Adults come into an educational activity with both greater volume and a different quality of experience from that of youths (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 2012). Adults have lived longer than the youth and therefore their experiences are different. There are some potential effects that are negative in nature with having greater experience. Mental habits, biases, and presuppositions tend to develop as experience is accumulated. This may cause one to close their minds to new ideas, fresh perceptions, and alternative ways of thinking (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 2012). | The difference in the two models is that is the pedagogical model, the learners experience has little worth. The teachers, the textbook writer, and the audiovisual aids producer are the only experience that counts. | Readiness to learn| Adults become ready to learn those things they need to know and be able to do in order to cope effectively with their real life situations (Knowles, Holton, Swanson, 2012). Taking on this reading requires an opened mindset and concentration. Reading this passage was hard for me because when I am in church listening to the gospel readings, I do admit to lack interest. I read the gospel of Mark to myself first because it takes time for me to analyze and process the event that occurs in the reading. After reading the gospelto myself I listened to the audio reading. Listening to the audio version of the gospel helped me find a deeper meaning to the reading. This allowed me to be part of the reading as if I am there during that time. While I was looking over the reading there were many factors that went into understanding the reading. I reread certain parts because I did not understand what was occurring during a certain event. If I had no knowledge of the gospel and what was happening, then reading this would have been a lot tougher on me. Since I somewhat know the broad stories of the gospel from growing up and attending mass on Sundays, it help me have a background going into the reading. There are a lot of small details about which the events occurred and how people felt back in Jesus s time. The ability for someone to retell the story of Jesus s life is extraordinary. The first scene of the first act of King Lear had a genuinely dramatic affect upon me. This first glimpse into the world of Lear and his subordinates sets the premise for the whole play, unravelling within the first few pages, themes which I believe will become increasingly evident. The scene opens with the introduction of three characters Kent, Gloucester and Edmund. At this point of the scene it can be clearly noticed how similar Goneril and Regan are, as Regan asks Lear to measure her worth as he measured Goneril s. This closeness seems symbolic in a way to the close knit coven in Macbeth, as these women seem to have underlying deceptive qualities. Before considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril and Regan s speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience would be able to hear Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief that her love is more ponderous than her tongue. Her indecision over what to say to her father shows really how much she does not want to offend him, but instead she does the opposite, as he cannot see beyond his pride, to her loyal words. When she says Nothing , she is indicating to him that he should no the worth of her love for him. The king, shocked with this appearance of ingratitude in his favourite child, desired her to consider her words, and to mend her speech, lest it should mar her fortunes. Cordelia then tells Lear that she loves him according to her station, and as much as he loves her as his daughter. She is as she says young...and true . Critical Appreciation Of John Keats British Romantic Literature Assignment (Semester IV) Nayan Srivastava (1116) Keats s Escape from Reality John Keats, a second generation Romantic poet, is considered the perfect Romantic poet.
