While plants and animals appear physically dissimilar, they share important similarities in their biological functions and systems. Both use oxygen for respiration and have multicellular, eukaryotic structures. Their transport systems - xylem and phloem in plants, arteries and veins in animals - distribute nutrients and materials throughout their bodies. Additionally, both plants and animals exhibit movement and water regulation in response to stimuli to support their survival.
