• The name of the artist is Emily Carr. The name of the piece of art is Strait of
Juan de Fuca. This piece of art was made in 1936. The elements of art used
are: Lines used in the sky to show its shape, Shading used around the hill and
rocks to make them stand out. She has used oil on canvas to paint this
picture. The subject of this piece of art is to capture the Strait of Juan de
Fuca and turn it into a piece of artwork. This is a really beautiful painting and
i like it because it makes me wish that I was there to see ot for real.

• This piece of art is made by Emily Carr its name is Above the Gravel Pit. It was
also made in 1936 and it also use nearly the same elements of art. One
element used is lines, again it makes the images stand out and a second
one used is shading, the same as the other one showing the objects place
and making it stand out. This painting is also made out of oil on paper. The
subject of this painting is showing how beautiful the world is when you look
“above the gravel pit”. This is a nice piece of art and I like it because of its
different shades of colours, it makes me feel lucky to live on this beautiful
planet.

• This piece of art is done by Ross Penhall it is named Just the Land and has a
few other paintings with the same name. I cant find when this piece of art
was made. The elements of art used are lines and texture making the
painting go way back into the distance were the mountain is. This painting is
made from regular paints. I think that the subject is to show how big the
world really is when you look at it. I like this picture because it can show you
how big the world is and that it nearly goes on forever.

• This piece of art is made by Ross Penhall and is called Wide road. Once
again I cannot find when this painting was made. Elements of art in this are
shading and texture. The texture makes the bushes and trees stick out and
the shadows just confirm that they are there with the gaps as well. Ross
Penhall used Oil on Canvas to create this picture. The subject in this picture is
the beauty of nature wherever you are, I think. I like this because it makes
me feel like I want too go there because it is beautiful and you want to see it
for real.

• This piece of art is done by Michael Tickner, the name of this piece of art is
“the mountains watch the cities rise”. This piece of art was made around the
1988 area. The elements of art used in this are Texture and shading which
work together to make a perfect picture. The media used in this is just regular
paint. The subject of this is the beauties of the view with the cities and the
mountains when the morning is still around the corner. I really like this
because it shows the cities and the mountains and it makes me feel envious
because everyone else is in their bed sleeping.

• This piece of art is done by Michael Tickner, it is called Colours of sound. I
cannot find out when this piece was made but it was made 20-30 years ago,
I think. The elements in this picture are shading and texture showing how the
mountain is standing tall above the Howe sound and creating shadows. I
think that this is just regular paint on a canvas. The subject for this one is the
views, how the views can be excellent if you are in the right place at the
right time. I like this picture because it’s a scene from Vancouver.
