Particle-Wave Photographs by Leslie ParkeLeslie Parke
Leslie Parke's photographs of the last three years grapple with the Modernist concern with abstraction and surface, but bring this forward into a 21st-century digital language. They incorporate contemporary concerns about the nature of reality, the trustworthiness of our perceptions and the sustainability of our civilization, while offering visual and intellectual delight.

The Bridge Groups Artists show IMAGINATION at MoMaThe Bridge
The Bridge Group Artists began twenty-three years ago under the direction of Judith Raskin Rosenthal, ATR. Many of the artists began with very little or no formal training. Eventually the group attracted individuals with some art education or experience. All have come to understand that the desire to create is in itself an expression of mental wellness and that—as artists—there is always room for growth. Over the past year, MoMA's Department of Education and The Bridge’s Art Department participated in their sixth annual extended partnership.

6. Rosie's Bed , 2009, cut, burnt, and perforated bond Crown Kozo paper, sheet music, silk and paper flowers, wire, fishing line, coffee filters, ink, kite parts, 91 x 91 x 6 inches The use of lines in the installation creates dimension and keeps the viewers eyes moving around the art work. The texture of the installation feels the same as the materials it was made of, the artwork feels like a mixture of both smooth surfaces and also rough and soft. The artwork has movement, the red fishing line starts at the very top of the work and travels all the way to the bottom, this creates movement from the bottom of the work to the right top corner. The movement takes the eyes through the whole installation and creates a greater understanding
7. Materello, 1992. mixed media, 95 x 125 x 75 in . New York. Carl Solway Gallery. In this sculpture, Pfaff tries to create a scenario where the sculpture defies gravity with help from strings but that’s besides the point. The colors used in this sculpture creates an openness in the sculpture which then makes the odd shape of the sculpture even more odd.
8. Koyna , 2008, Layered/cut paper, Joss paper, found images, ink, wire, artificial flowers, wire, Crown Kozo paper, umbrella parts, framed: 94 1/2 x 94 1/2 I really do like this piece of art. It is visually pleasing and creates movement throughout the whole work. The colors used in the picture create a feeling that anything can happen. This painting has many forms of lines which create the outer border of the painting.
