This document outlines an orientation workshop for course representatives. The objectives are to practice communication skills needed for the role, get to know fellow reps, and develop methods for sharing information. An icebreaker activity involves working with a partner to share two truths and a lie about yourself for them to guess. Representatives are then split into teams to complete a task of making a hat or boat within 15 minutes using communication and problem-solving skills. At the end, teams reflect on what information and skills were used to complete the task and how effectively information was shared. Representatives discuss areas they can improve to be successful in their roles.
