telecommunication system for Teleport Communications Group (now AT& T/ Verizon) in Phoenix.
Collaborated with City of Phoenix utility installation inspectors to re-engineer the underground network
proposed install run lines during construction installation to avoid existing utilities and thus delays. Delivered
cost-saving ideas to company management for utilization of multiple subcontractors to accelerate schedules
in city streets.
•Teleport Communications Group, Project Manager: Led all aspects of project engineering and construction.
Orchestrated multiple superintendents and subcontractors. Directed two field engineers, two CAD drafters,
and a network design engineer. Added a 38-mile, 144-strand backbone fiber optic ring and 82 buildings to
the existing LAN/WAN network, along with a larger material vendor base to provide competitive material
pricing for network expansions.
•Peter Kiewit Sons, Project Engineer, Metropolitan Fiber Systems Network Technologies, Inc.: Managed
installation of a 96-mile LAN/WAN fiber optic telecommunication system in San Diego. Led installation of a 92-
mile LAN/WAN suburban expansion to the MFS Chicago fiber optic telecommunication system as the Project
Engineer, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and subcontractor management. Facilitated meetings with
city, county, and state representatives to discuss right of way (ROW) easement and permit requirements.
•Peter Kiewit Sons, Various Positions, Kiewit Network Technologies, Inc.: Played key roles as Area
Superintendent and Splice Supervisor for installation of the southeast quadrant of a 2,900-mile, 99-county
Wide Area Network (WAN) fiber optic telecommunication system for the State of Iowa. Contributed to LAN
fiber optic telecommunication systems in Dallas and Pittsburgh.
•Peter Kiewit Sons, Subcontract Manager, Kiewit Telecommunication Services, Inc.: Conducted finding
and binding for various contractor disciplines through contracts, bid preparation and execution, planning,
scheduling, coordinating, and expediting subcontractor activities on installation of a LAN fiber optic
telecommunication system in Minneapolis and Chicago.
