Herbal perfumes and cosmetics have been into usage from time immemorial and are made using natural herbs and ingredients that are healthier and beneficial for the skin. These are less likely to cause any damaging effect and the radiance they add to the skin. These days a number of beauty products that are using the herbal formulae have got lot of attention and have been witnessing a huge rise in demand not only nationally but on international arena. Bath and beauty products use herbs for both their scents and therapeutic qualities. Herbal products are replacing the synthetics products because of its harsh nature.

Evaluation of Anthocyanin in Amaranthus Gangeticus L. Nurawsuraw Leaf Extract...ijtsrd
Â
This study was conducted to Evaluate Anthocyanin in Amaranthus gangeticus Nurawsuraw leaf extract as hair colorant. Spectrophotometric analysis screening was done to measure the absorbance of anthocyanin and the amount of light that passes through a sample solution at different wavelengths in percentage solutions.Spectrophotometric analysis showed that the detected highest absorption of anthocyanin was indicated by the highest peak in less percentage solutions at maximum wavelength from which anthocyanin absorption can be found, while the lowest peak in higher percentage solutions was at the minimum wavelength with least absorbance. The hair colorant effect of the Amaranthus gangeticus Nurawsuraw leaf extract being mixed with the developer was viewed on the microscope and was observed by a desired coloration occurred on hair sample, which appeared to be red in color. In comparison to the hair colorant effect of the commercial hair color, it produces thick violet coloration to hair strand. Therefore, it is concluded that Amaranthus gangeticus Nurawsuraw could be used as natural hair colorant. Chaneen Meg C. Busa | Melinda C. Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix

Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Â
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
3. Background of thestudy
ď‚— The study tries to help the environment by
substituting the chemicals used in a perfume by
using Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa)
which is abundant in our country.
ď‚— It has been proven to help alleviate depression
and anxiety. It is also among the few aromatics
that not just masks bad smell, but completely
neutralizes them, making the essential oil a great
additive to cleansing products.
4. Background of thestudy
ď‚— Inventing a perfume that has a citrus scent,
cheap, doesn’t have a bad effect towards our
environment and our health and is made from
something that is abundant in our country is very
helpful.
5. Statement of the Problem
ď‚— Can calamansi (Citrofortunella
microcarpa) fruit extract be a
better susbtitute for perfumes?
6. Statement of the Problem
Specific Questions:
ď‚— At which concentration of calamansi fruit extract
will be the most effective as perfume?
a.) 25 mg/ml
b.) 30 mg/ml
c.) 45 mg/ml
ď‚— How effecient is Calamansi fruit extract as a
Perfume in terms of:
a.) Fragrance
b.) Price
7. Significance of the Study
 The researcher’s desire is to make a good-smelling
perfume which does not have a bad effect in our
environment.
ď‚— The benefit involves the environment, health of the
people and the economy of the Philippines. It will
not use much harmful chemicals used in other
perfumes. It has a natural component. It will also
expand the market for Filipino farmers because this
will enhance their rural economic development.
8. Scope and Limitationof the Study
ď‚— The study focuses on making a cheaper fragrant
perfume that would not harm our environment.
10. Theoretical Framework
ď‚— The researchers think that the citric acid found in the
calamnsi may be the compound that is effective in making
perfume because of its natural fragrance. Grapefruit
(Citrus paradisi) also has this compound, in which
grapefruit is use in other perfumes. The calamansi has citric
acid that is a auramatic compound used in other perfumes.
In which is why the researchers thought it would be a good
idea to use calamansi since it is abundant in the Philippines
and calamansi is naturally cultivated in the Phillipines. The
calamansi extract can be an effective substitute to the
harmful chemicals that are used in making perfumes.

14. Definition of Terms
ď‚— Citric Acid - Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in citrus
fruits. It is a natural preservative and is also used to add an
acidic (sour) taste to foods and soft drinks.
ď‚— Extracts - An extract is a substance made by extracting a part
of a raw material, often by using a solvent such
as ethanol or water. Extracts may be sold as tinctures or in
powder form.
ď‚— Volatile Aroma - Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of plant-
derived, aromatic essential oils to promote physical and
psychological well-being. It is sometimes used in combination
with massage and other therapeutic techniques as part of a
holistic treatment approach.
ď‚— Fragrance - a pleasant, sweet smell

17. SamplingDesign andTechnique
ď‚— The researchers will use the simple random sampling
technique in order to determine which of the 16 subjects
would receive the 4 treatments. One of the easiest ways to
do this is by the Lottery method, in which the researchers
would use slips of paper to determine what subjects will
receive the treatments. For the researchers, this will be the
most appropriate and efficient sampling technique for the
research.

Procedures, Materials, and Equipments
Collection of calamansi
Extraction of calamansi fruit
Adding the essential oil and vodka
Mixing all the elements
Recording, Analysis and Interpretation of Data Gathered
Preparing the finished product
19. StatisticalTreatment
ď‚— The statistical treatment that will be used in this study is
inferential statistics. Since it is an inferential statistics, it
is used to determine the significant difference of the
variables collected from the experimental research. The
confidence level of the researchers is 85 %. This means
that the researchers believe 85 % that the alternative
hypothesis shall overtake the null hypothesis.
