1. A. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The researchers thought a way how to use the rind or the color green of
the calamansi in the different way, it will not harmful to our environment and
healthy to our body. Candy has a lot to do how people will be happy. The
researchers make a candy from the calamansi rind.
The study tries to help the environment by using the calamansi rind as
candy. Calamansi or Citrofortunella Microcarpa which is commonly found in our
environment. The calamansi homeland is in Southeast Asia, especially in the
Philippines. And it is in the family Rutaceae and a member of Citrofortunella. The
plant grows well in cool and elevated areas. It is a shrub or small tree growing up
to 3-6 m and bears small citrus fruit. The researchers make this to lessen the
expenses of the people that will buy a candy. Calamansi (Citrofortunella
Microcarpa) has been proven to make this as candy because it is rich in Vitamin C.
The purpose of the researchers to make this study is to inventing a candy that is
cheap, healthy, and delicious and doesn’t have a bad effect to our environment.
