The Module for Project Manager and Repair & Maintenance Staff
CADISON® Project Navigator is the module for viewing of project data within the corporate network. Navigator has been designed for staff members normally not involved in the active planning of a plant but afterwards responsible for operation and maintenance of the plant (i.e. mere data consumers).
Since in a CADISON® project all logic and functional interrelations are displayed, it is possible, e.g. in case a pump fails operation, to make visible all plant components affected by this failure. In case problems occur, all components, safety zones, pipe runs, hazardous areas etc. that might be affected are recognized and/or displayed.
Preparation of planning documents for instrumentation, power plants and control but also installation and process measuring and control technology are in the competence of the electric design engineer. The common data base permits at any time the access to information about all trades involved in the project such that planning of electrical engineering can be combined with planning of process engineering.
The Module for 3D Layout and Piping Planning
Installation and pipeline planning in the 3D model are in the competence of the 3D Designer. Normally this module is used for access to data from Basic Engineering or P&ID. Efficient assistants are available for installation planning: For instance, isometrics can be automatically generated from the planned pipeline systems.
Start with an empty sheet of paper, access an existing 3D Design model - even an AutoCAD model - or access data from Basic Engineering or P&ID! You can simply take your data - either graphic data or data from plant structure – through Drag & Drop and insert them in your 3D design environment for further processing as required.
The Module for Pipe Class and Catalogue Management
Independent module for development and management of pipe classes, creation of parameterized 3D components, preparation and integration of manufacturer catalogues, import and export of data plus examination of existing catalogue data to ensure up-to-dateness.
The CADISON® P&ID Designer plays a decisive role in design, construction, commissioning and maintenance and has an enormous effect on the complete lifecycle of a plant. In this case the preliminary project engineering will be integrated with Basic and Detail Engineering and 2D layout planning. Apart from the P&I diagrams the P&ID Designer even creates block flow charts and process flow diagrams (PFD).

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

7 Alternatives to Bullet Points in PowerPointAlvis Oh
So you tried all the ways to beautify your bullet points on your pitch deck but it just got way uglier. These points are supposed to be memorable and leave a lasting impression on your audience. With these tips, you'll no longer have to spend so much time thinking how you should present your pointers.
You could be a professional graphic designer and still make mistakes. There is always the possibility of human error. On the other hand if you’re not a designer, the chances of making some common graphic design mistakes are even higher. Because you don’t know what you don’t know. That’s where this blog comes in. To make your job easier and help you create better designs, we have put together a list of common graphic design mistakes that you need to avoid.

CADISON® combines the engineering workflow in one system and thus significantly accelerates the planning processes. All users can see on their workplaces - either graphically or as schematic, as 3D model or text-based in a
tree structure – the same data and objects in each case so that they can be optionally used and modified on all workplaces through simple Drag & Drop.
Data and/or objects are existing once only. Thus errors as a result of redundant data management are excluded. The
sophisticated right system ensures that tasks are handled selectively. Modifications introduced by other users are
immediately made available to all other users. The continuity of the individual work steps in one object-oriented
database forms the core of the CADISON® technology. CADISON® uses the widespread platforms Autodesk AutoCAD
or Microsoft Visio for graphical presentations.

CADISON Project-Engineer
The Module for Project- and Plant-Engineers
Conceptual Engineering
CADISON® Project-Engineer is your tool for design, calculation
and detailing of your plant by adding all required components
(objects) to the project while taking them from the catalogue. Simple Drag & Drop operations are sufficient with completely text
based operations without the obligation to have a graphical environment. This approach is called “Conceptual Engineering”.
The target of CADISON® Project-Engineer is to provide the user
with data for calculation without large efforts and already at a very
early time.
Dynamic Cooperation with different Disciplines
CADISON® offers different disciplines to the users, such as process
engineering, project management, planning, design, electrical engineering and calculation, so that a common data pool is already
available for work on the same project in a very early project
phase.
No Redundancy
All information – independent of the workplace where they are
generated or modified – is directly deposited in the project. Consequently, it is sufficient to depict the object information (e.g. the
nominal delivery rate of a pump) only once, and subsequently it is immediately available to all users. It is irrelevant
whether or not the modification is made on the object in the plant structure tree, in the P&I diagram, in the 3D layout plan, in the electric circuit diagram or in another module. In case one user of the above pump adds a parameter (e.g. the nominal delivery rate) another user may adapt the nominal diameters of connections accordingly.
All different modules incorporate only “another mode of consideration” of the project. The concept of object-oriented
database ensures 100 % data consistency and offers the strategic advantage of dynamic work in project groups.

Plant Conception
CADISON® Project-Engineer helps the project
engineer to design a specific plant. A number of
questions must be answered, such as:
· Which are the mass balances?
· Which fluids shall be used?
· Which core components shall be included in the
plant?
· What is the basis for plant structuring?
· Which components are required?
· Which equipment is required?
· Which pipelines shall be included in design?
The above data is used and inserted by Drag &
Drop in the structure tree and supplemented by
detail information, if applicable. Data may be further developed and detailed at a later date or
even in parallel already e.g. in P&ID-Designer or
3D-Designer. CADISON® allows you to take your
own decision on the method and selection of
module for project processing.
Project Calculation and Tendering
Complete project calculation up to final tender preparation is directly possible from CADISON® Project-Engineer.
Even calculated values may be added to the actual technical data and information. Said calculation data can be
called up either as fixed cost items or calculated through time objects. The deposited data can be summarized as
single, group or project items. Capital structures can be developed and used for direct support in the tender planning stage through use of self-defined text modules.
Independent Report Generator
All data prepared with CADISON® ProjectEngineer may be put out through the integral
report generator in most different forms and formats. For example, such data could be a list of
valves and fittings or an advance payment so
that the required quantity structure can be calculated. All reports can be revised and have
release mechanisms. Reports are directly stored within the CADISON® Project.
