New efforts in planning for large scale ecosystem restoration in the Sacramen...Cory Copeland
The Delta Stewardship Council (Council) is responsible for promoting the coequal goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta ecosystem that forms the upper portion of the San Francisco Bay-Delta estuary. The Council is responsible for writing an enforceable Delta Plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh. After a multi-year development process that included extensive public engagement and scientific synthesis, the Council, in 2020, authorized initiation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental review of its proposed amendment to the Delta Plan focused on ecosystem protection, restoration, and enhancement. The amendment consists of six new and revised ecosystem performance measures, an updated narrative which includes four new and revised policies and 14 recommendations, and seven technical and regulatory appendices. The amendment is novel in that it focuses on landscape-scale process-based restoration, acknowledges the many social benefits from ecosystem restoration, utilizes advanced technical climate change analyses informed by best available science, and employs more rigorous tracking of progress in meeting Delta Plan objectives. The amendment embraces a portfolio of approaches to adaptively manage ecosystems in highly altered and changing landscapes, and strives to reestablish ecological processes in natural communities at a sufficient scale (and with connectivity, complexity, and diversity) to be resilient to land conversion and climate change. This digital poster will describe the collaborative science-driven process the Council used in developing the amendment, the draft currently under environmental review, and lessons for resource managers in other systems facing the challenge of planning ecosystem recovery amidst ongoing anthropogenic stressors and a rapidly changing climate.

To increase the security of mobile payments, many payment schemes nowadays apply a technology called tokenization.
Tokenization is the process of replacing an existing payment card number with a surrogate value (token).
This token is used during a payment transaction, keeping the original card number safe.
A Token Service Provider (TSP) is an entity within the payments ecosystem that generates and manages tokens.
The TSP maps the original card number with the payment tokens and stores this safely in a token vault.
Often these tokens can only be used in a specific domain such as a merchant’s online website or channel, limiting the risk even further.
A TSP manages the entire lifecycle of payment credentials including: Token Requestor Authorization Host
1. Tokenization: Replaces the PAN with a payment token.
2. De-tokenization: Converts the token back to the PAN using the token vault.
3. Token vault: Establishes and maintains the payment token to PAN mapping.
4. Domain management: Adds additional security by restricting tokens to be used within specific (retail) channels or domains.
5. Identification and verification: Ensures that the payment token is replacing a PAN that was legitimately used by the token requestor.
6. Clearing and settlement: Ad-hoc de-tokenization during clearing and settlement process.
Issuers, acquirers and merchants that wish to offer mobile and/or digital payments to customers can become a TSP.
Becoming your own TSP gives full control over the tokenization process: creation, storage, issuance and management.
By having your own TSP, you are in full control of digital payments by issuing tokens directly without third party intervention.
By using a third party TSP from the payment schemes, issuers need to integrate with each payment scheme.
Benefits of having you own TSP:
1. Reduce long term costs: no additional TSP fees from the payment schemes.
2. On-us transactions: save on transaction fees when you are the issuing as well as the acquiring bank.
3. Banks retain their privacy because data and roadmaps do not have to be shared with the schemes.
4. Keep track of customer payment behavior to gain valuable insight and be able to offer personalized services.
5. Expand to multiple use cases. Host Card Emulation Embedded SE Internet: Card-Not-Present Value added services / non-card payments
6. Have your own strategy and be future proof in order to stay competitive.

Memorandum Of Association Constitution of Company.pptseri bangash
www.seribangash.com
A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.
https://seribangash.com/article-of-association-is-legal-doc-of-company/
Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.
www.seribangash.com
Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.
https://seribangash.com/promotors-is-person-conceived-formation-company/
Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.
https://seribangash.com/difference-public-and-private-company-law/
Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder

UK benefits of inland wetlands to water
quality - up to £1.5billion per year
UK amenity benefits of living close to rivers,
coasts and other wetlands - up to
£1.3billion per year
INNS one of the 5 primary drivers of change
in ecosystem services in the last 60 years...
4. Making Space for Nature:
Professor Sir John Lawton
Recommendation 4.
Public bodies and statutory undertakers planning the
management of water resources should:
• Make space for water and wildlife along rivers and around
wetlands;
• Restore natural processes in river catchments, including in
ways that support climate change adaptation and mitigation;
and
• Accelerate the programme to reduce nutrient
overload, particularly from diffuse pollution.
5. Ecosystem failure means…
-ive impacts on human health
Flooding/Drought
Loss of amenity value
Consequences
-ive impacts on tourism
Loss of biodiversity
-ive impacts on water quality
7. EU Water Framework Directive
Ensuring ‘good ecological status’ by 2015 /2021
will be a major challenge!
WFD Public Participation
(Article 14)
“Member States shall
encourage the active
involvement of all interested
parties in the implementation
of this Directive, in particular
in the production, review and
updating of the river basin
management plans…”
8. CaBA Framework
• Defra Policy Framework – ‘to encourage the
wider adoption of an integrated CaBA to
improving the quality of our water environment’
• Involving the 1st , 2nd & 3rd Sectors in
partnership:
• 1st - Government, agencies, local authorities
• 2nd - Water Co’s, farmers, river owners, business
• 3rd – NGO’s, voluntary groups, communities
• Catchment Partnership Groups - providing
coordination & guidance
9. CaBA Framework - considerations
• WFD 2nd cycle is important but only part of the
journey
• Some form of map and /or plan is probably
necessary to allow catchment targeting and
prioritisation
• A plan is a means to an end (delivery of
catchment management) not an end in itself!
• Develop strategic relationship with
LNP’s, NIA’s, LEP’s
10. The Ecosystem Approach provides a guide to linking
human/ social, ecological and economic drivers and is a
delivery tool of the Convention on Biological Diversity
it’s about
people…

19. Macro-invertebrate sampling was completed at all of the monitoring sites, excluding site 4. The
sampling procedure was compliant with the Environment Agency's operational instruction manual
produced in 2008 (Technical reference material: freshwater macro-invertebrate sampling in rivers).
A one minute manual search was initially carried out at each site, followed by kick sampling using
the three minute, pond, net sampling method. The net used was a standard 1mm mesh sampling
net. The kick sampling technique involves disturbing the substrate by foot and capturing any
displaced invertebrates as they drift downstream with the flow into the sampling net. All available
habitat types at each site were sampled proportionately and for a total time of three minutes.
Collected samples were placed into a container and then preserved using IMS (industrial methylated
spirits). All samples were first examined on the bank side for dead invertebrates.
The physical characteristics of each site, including depth, substrate and flow type, a subjective
assessment of turbidity and any other relevant observations were recorded. Estimates of algae and
macrophyte cover were also recorded.
Policy & delivery framework
Working to generate new evidence
• Critical analysis of existing data sources
At a later date, the samples were sieved using a 500-micron sieve and placed into a sorting tray.
Where possible, macro-invertebrates were identified to species level with the exception of
Oligochaeta which were identified to class, and Simuliidae, Sphaeridae and Chironomidae which
were identified to family level. Factors making it impossible to identify other macro-invertebrates to
species level include size or crucial identification features missing.
• Generation of supplementary data &

The families present in a sample contribute to the
derivation of a biological (BMWP) score for each site.
This scoring system was developed as a way of
assessing the biological quality of rivers and streams.
The method assigns a score to each taxon ranging from
1 to 10 depending on their capacity to tolerate
pollution. Those most tolerant to pollution have a low
score, whilst those least tolerant have a high score.
The sum of the taxa scores from a sample is the
Biological Monitoring Working Party (BMWP) score.
The BMWP score, and ASPT (average score per taxon)
were calculated for each sample.

30. Developing an integrated catchment approach
Our ultimate goal is to create a catchment plan that is…
1. Strategic
Interventions are delivered in a targeted and timely
manner to achieve the greatest amount of benefit
2. Integrated
Adopts a variety of different measures tailored to
each situation and ecosystem services objective
3. Costed and funded
The cost of each intervention is determined and
funding acquired from the most appropriate
stakeholder
4. Balanced
Delivers improvements, but not at the expense of
food production or economic sustainability
31. CaBA means that for the first time – the
future of our rivers, really is in your hands!
