Disadvantage Of Laparoscopic Surgery
LAPAROSCOPY
Laparoscopy surgery is a minimally invasive type of surgery that is used to diagnose and treat various
forms of disorders. It is performed with the help of a remotely controlled surgical device known as a
Laparoscope.
What is Laparoscopic Surgery?
Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses a laparoscope to diagnose,
treat and perform various types of surgeries on many medical disorders. Laparoscopic surgery is also
known as Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), keyhole surgery, band aid surgery among other names.
This technique consists of making very few and minute incisions far from the affected area to insert a
laparoscope into the body. The main part of this surgery is the use of laparoscope which is a length of
surgical grade fiber optic system that allows a clear and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Robotic minimally invasive surgical procedure the surgeon uses two master controls to operate
four robotic limbs. The surgeon operates from a distance with the help of a video console that provides
a high resolution 3 dimensional view of the operation area inside the body. A distinct advantage of
robotic laparoscopic surgery is that it can be used to perform surgical procedures from a remote
location without the surgeon s presence in the operating room.
Gynecology Laparoscopy
Gynecology laparoscopy procedures are the new alternative to conventional gynecology surgery. The
doctor will be able to do a better diagnosis with a laparoscope camera to determine the location and
extent of the disorder. This procedure also has miniature surgical instruments that allow the surgeon to
perform the required procedure.
Laparoscopic gynecology surgery can be used to perform delicate surgical procedures such as ovarian
cyst removal, hysterectomy, tubal ligations, etc.

The T-Distribution and T-Test
The T Distribution and T Test In probability and statistics, Student s t distribution (or simply the t
distribution) is a continuous probability distribution that arises when estimating the mean of a
normally distributed population in situations where the sample size is small (Narasimhan , 1996).
Similar to the normal distribution, the t distribution is symmetric and bell shaped, but has heavier tails,
meaning that it is more likely to produce values far from its mean. This makes the t distribution useful
for understanding statistical behaviors of random quantities. It plays a role in a number of widely used
statistical analyses, including the Student s t test for assessing the statistical significance of the
difference between two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important property of a test statistic is that we must be able to determine its sampling distribution
under the null hypothesis, which allows us to calculate p values.
For example, suppose we wish to test whether a coin is fair. If we flip the coin 100 times and record
the results, the raw data can be represented as a sequence of 100 Heads and Tails. If our interest is in
the probability of obtaining a head, we only need to record the number T out of the 100 flips that
produced a head, and use T0 = 50 as our null value. In this case, the exact sampling distribution of T is
the binomial distribution, but for larger sample sizes the normal approximation can be used. Using one
of these sampling distributions, it is possible to compute either a one tailed or two tailed p value for
the null hypothesis that the coin is fair.
The two tailed test is when a given statistical hypothesis, H0 (the null hypothesis), will be rejected
when the value of the test statistic is either sufficiently small or sufficiently large. This contrasts with a
one tailed test, in which only one of the rejection regions sufficiently small or sufficiently large is
preselected according to the alternative hypothesis being selected, and the hypothesis is rejected only
if the test statistic satisfies that criterion. (UCLA, amp; , 2009)
Among the most frequently used t tests are: a one sample location test of whether the mean of a
normally distributed population has a value

The Importance Of A Competency For Execution Evaluation
Introduction
An ethical decision is a decision in which a person is conflicted between two moral ideals. The answer
is not clear in these types of situations. The deliverance of punishment in America has always been an
ethical decision, especially when the punishment is death. After a horrific crime is committed, many
complicated proceedings take place, and sometimes these proceedings sometimes lead to the decision
to execute the person responsible. The next steps are complex and often times create moral conflicts
for those who are participating in them. One step that must take place when an accused has been
sentenced to death is a competency exam which is administered by a mental health professional. This
paper will focus on mental health professional s participation to certify someone as death ready prior
to execution and the ethical decisions that mental health professionals face during this time, yet the
ultimate need for their expertise.
Background Information
A competency for execution evaluation is required by law to be performed before the execution of a
person sentenced to death. This exam aims to make sure the accused is death ready, or in other words
are they competent to be executed. To be considered competent to be executed, one must: (a)
understand and appreciate the punishment, (b) understand and appreciate death, and (c) have the
ability to work with the judicial team (Neal, 2010, p. 148). The mental health care professional also
needs to take into

The Black Cat Figurative Language Essay
Edgar Allan Poe, to many, is the father of modern day horror. His famous The Masque of the Red
Death tells a story of death itself invading the safety of one s home. The Cask of Amontillado shares
the tale of a man s grudge against a former friend who had insulted him, and the punishment that
ensues. In another tale, The Black Cat , a story of a kind man turned brutal due to alcoholism is told.
In many of his stories, including the three previously stated, the use of various literary tools is present.
Such appearance of these literary terms has enhanced his writings, allowing his horrific stories to
become what he is remembered for. Out of all of the terms in his works, however, figurative language
best represents Poe s themes of murder, cruelty, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When speaking of the Red Death, it is said, He had come like a thief in the night. Describing the Red
Death s arrival as like a thief in the night allows readers to infer how quickly he came, stole something
of importance the life of men, in this case , and left. Near the beginning, the passage illustrates the
signs of the Red Death s Presence. The scarlet stains...were the pest ban which shut him out from the
aid and from the sympathy of his fellow men. The scarlet stains, blood, could not literally shut away
men to keep them from health, but their appearance disturbed and frightened others, leading to the
victim being left to a cruel, lonely death. Later on, a significant part of the story is explained when the
story tells, It was toward the close of the fifth or sixth month of his seclusion, and while the pestilence
raged most furiously abroad, that the Prince Prospero entertained his thousand friends at a masked ball
of the most unusual magnificence. This chilling short story truly portrays Poe s main themes

Dramatic Irony in Hamlet Essay
Dramatic irony in the Shakespearean tragedy Hamlet has long been the subject matter of literary
critical reviews. This essay will exemplify and elaborate on the irony in the play.
David Bevington in the Introduction to Twentieth Century Interpretations of Hamlet identifies one of
the richest sources of dramatic irony in Hamlet:
Well may the dying Hamlet urge his friend Horatio to report me and my cause aright To the
unsatisfied, for no one save Horatio has caught more than a glimpse of Hamlet s true situation. We as
omniscient audience, hearing the inner thoughts of Claudius as well as of Hamlet and learning of
Polonius or Laertes secret plottings with the king, should remember that we know vastly more than the
play s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
George Lyman Kittredge, in his book, Five Plays of Shakespeare, describes the Bard s excellent
characterization of Claudius:
King Claudius is a superb figure almost as great a dramatic creation as Hamlet himself. His
intellectual powers are of the highest order. He is eloquent formal when formality is appropriate (as in
the speech from the throne), graciously familiar when familiarity is in place (as is his treatment of the
family of Polonius), persuasive to an almost superhuman degree (as in his manipulation of the
insurgent Laertes) always and everywhere a model of royal dignity. His courage is manifested, under
the most terrifying circumstances, when the mob breaks into the palace. His self control when the
dumb show enacts his secret crime before his eyes is nothing less than marvelous. (xviii)
The irony found in the characterization of the antagonist is balanced by an equal irony in the
presentation of the protagonist. Hamlet is present at the court gathering dressed in black, the color of
mourning, for his deceased father. He is not a man of the world, but rather demurring and thoughtful
and by himself. His first words say that Claudius is A little more than kin and less than kind, indicating
a dissimilarity in values

Importance Of Immersion Essay
Why English immersion works ? Learning a language implies practice and this is what immersion is
all about. Over the years, research has shown the positive outcomes of this method on our ability to
learn a new language. Whilst it may be easy to think that language immersion is all about living in a
foreign country, the truth is that it is actually more about creating an environment around you. It s all
about the way you ll be willing to provoke opportunities to bring English in your everyday life. Good
news (and we ll be bringing a lot today) : English is one of the easiest language to immerse oneself.
Also paramount for your everyday life (in NZ). Immersion gets you out of your comfort zone (trouver
un moyen de centrer sur English) Travelling taught me that getting out of your comfort zone was
always for the best. Well, you know what ? Same thing goes for language learning! While it s easy and
comfy to surround yourself with people speaking the same language as you, it takes a lot of courage to
immerse yourself in a foreign language environment. And it s what immersion is all about : courage
and (at least at first) discomfort. It is as simple as that : when you don t have another choice but to be
understood you force yourself to communicate and therefore, you can t avoid practicing. Most
language learners are scared to sounds funny and that s the main thing that ll keep people from talking
and practicing. It s even more true when you are trying to learn

The Women s Rights Movement Essay
Women leaders are evolving in today s society more than ever before. For a while, men had always
been at the forefront when it came to leadership, however women have really stepped up and began
taking on a lot of leadership roles. It s ironic that a woman actually raises a male to be that of a leader;
however women didn t get viewed the same as the male. In 1948 The Women s Rights Movement
brought upon red flags and women began to questions why they didn t get the same educational as
well as professional opportunities as males. Lots of women began to speak out because they were not
going to tolerate the inequality against them any longer. There was definitely a change that took place
which allowed women to have the same opportunities as males. One woman in particular by the name
Meg Whitman really took advantage of this great opportunity. She s the perfect example of what
leadership is all about.
Meg Whitman is the President and chief executive officer of Hewlett Packard Co. She was born on
August 4, 1956 in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York. Whitman definitely has her hands in a
lot of different areas surrounding business. Her father worked on Wall Street while her mom enjoyed
the amenities of being a stay at home mother. Growing up, Whitman was full of confidence and she
bestowed a great sense of intelligence. In 1974 she graduated from high school in just three years. She
then enrolled in Princeton University, and obtained a bachelor s degree in economics. She

Nutella Makes Up for Cocoa Shortage During World War II
The period was World War II there was a shortage of cocoa at the time; Mr. Pietro Ferrero, a pastry
maker founder of the Ferrero company thought that using hazelnuts and mixing it with skim milk and
a little of chocolate would be a good way to appease the short supply of cocoa by allowing chocolate
to last longer. This still being the product s two main ingredients today; hazelnut and cocoa. In Italy,
during the 1940s; Mr. Ferrero created the Nutella spread. In its earliest form, Nutella a hazel nut and
chocolate spread was originally called pasta Gianduja this of course was the Italian term, pasta means
paste and the Gianduja was the name of a famous character in the region in Italy. The paste was first
introduced by being made in the loaves of bread wrapped in tinfoil, used to make sandwiches. A
product popular to children, the bread was tossed away and the paste was most favored. Later workers
decided it would be best if the spread was made easier to spread on the bread then being known as
Supercrema Gianduja , thus being processed in large jars with a yellow sticker on the middle and a red
lid. Soon after in 1964 Pasta Gianduja or Supercrema Gianduja the product was named Nutella: nut
being the origin of the product and ella a soft Italian term.
Nutella rapidly became popular among Italy. Just 25 years ago, in 1983 the Ferrero Company
introduced the product to the United States market and it was first imported to the Northeastern part of
America and

History Development and Construction of a Classical Guitar
Carry out study of a Classical Guitar and write a report on its history, development and construction.
The classical guitar, sometimes called the Spanish or nylon strung guitar, consists of a hollow body
made with a top, back and sides constructed from thin pieces of wood carved and shaped to give the
familiar traditional figure of eight shape. A long narrow piece of wood, called the neck, is attached to
the body at one end and has, at the other end, a headstock to which are attached six tuning pegs, each
holds one of six nylon strings which it is able to tighten or loosen, for tuning the guitar. The six nylon
strings pass over the nut, a piece of bone inserted at the end of the neck to support the strings, along
the neck and are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are usually either Western Red Cedar obtained from the West Coasts of the USA and Canada or
Spruce sourced from many countries throughout Europe (The Art and Craft of Making Classical
Guitars, page 69).
The top plate, cut to the traditional figure of eight shape, needs to be as thin as possible to allow it
vibrate freely, a thickness of between two and three millimetres is used (Guitarmaking, tradition and
technology, page104). Because it is a softwood it needs to be able to withstand the pressures exerted
on it by the strings and this is done by adding bracing. These are thin wooden struts, made from the
same wood as the top plate, glued to the underside in a fan shape (see Figure 2), this bracing not only
adds strength but it also controls the way it vibrates and therefore has a big effect on the final sound. A
sound hole is cut into the top plate, in a position where it will intersect the end of the fret board at the
nineteenth fret. A piece of binding is added around the inside of the sound hole (called a rosette)
primarily to keep moisture out from the cut edge, although it has become very decorative and its
design can often identify the luthier (Harry Miller interview, September 1st 2011).
The neck, which needs to remain absolutely straight whilst under the pull of the strings, is constructed
from mahogany, a dense strong

My Day At The Fair
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys are the best parents in the world! I said. You re welcome
sweetie. said my mom and dad. When I found out that I was riding at the Goodells 4 H Fair, I freaked
out! It was my second year at Fair. I did a class called Horseless Horse the year before because you
have to be 9 to ride and I was only 8 years old and called a participant. But that s okay I still got to
work with horses and that s all that mattered to me. Now back to the main story. The only thing that
we didn t have was a horse. We searched everywhere and couldn t find anything that was right for me.
Then one day at school I got a note from one of my best friends Kylie Guyette who owns two horses.
The note said you can use Paris at the Fair. Now, I was pumped! I kept reading you can use my saddle
at Fair too but don t tell your mom, let my mom tell your mom! So exactly when I walked into my
house, I told my mom. She said she would talk to her or let her tell my mom. But after that she said i
can tell my mom. So I guess now all I could do was wait. But that was going to be hard. A couple days
later they were talking about it and they said at the meeting that I could do some showmanship with
the horse and see how it worked. A couple days later my parents told me that I was leasing Paris. I was
so happy now that I was riding Paris and Kylie G. was riding Mattie and our other friend Kylie W. was

Analysis Of John Paul Lederach s The Moral Imagination
John Paul Lederach s The Moral Imagination: The Art and Soul of Building Peace goes could only
have been written by someone who had spent many years in the field of conflict management. With its
underlying focus of the essence of peacebuilding, it looks far beyond what one may learn in any
textbook or seminar. While the first 8 chapters of the text are ripe with areas for further analysis, here I
will focus only on theme, found in one chapter, in the interest of brevity. In chapter 2 of The Moral
Imagination we are introduced to real life micro case studies. The cases aim to help the reader
understand how people experiencing violent conflict throughout the world have worked to transcend
the cycles of violence that bewitch our community, building on Lederach s statement on why the book
was written. That being said, we can see that Lederach is operating under the assumption that current
day peacebuilding and conflict management is not working as well as it should. It is clear that he
thinks there is something more that needs to be involved in current strategies and models. He believes
we must move from looking at actors in a conflict as separate involved parties and instead view parties
as a web of relationships which include our enemies. This requires a shift in thinking for those in
thefield of peacebuilding and for those involved in the conflict, but in making this shift, we can look at
conflicts as existing within our communities rather than between our

Atrial And Ventricular Septal Defects
ATRIAL AND VENTRICULAR SEPTAL DEFECTS
Yulissa R. De Leon
June 26, 2016
BS 104 ME1
Dr. Ali Saleh A ventricular septal defect or VSD is a heart defect. It s congenital, this means that a
baby is born with it. It is an opening or hole in the dividing wall called the Septum, between the two
lower chambers of the heart, right and left ventricles. Ventricular septal defects are the most common
type of congenital heart defects. A VSD allows oxygen rich blood to pass from the left ventricle
through the opening in the septum. Then it mixes with oxygen poor blood in the right ventricle. There
are different types of ventricular septal defects, the type your child has depends on which part of the
wall between the ventricles is involved. Also the size of the opening or hole varies. A ventricular
septal defect may occur more often in some families, this is because of gene defects. But most of the
time, the cause is unknown. Similarly to ventricular septal defect, an Atrial septal defect is a birth
defect of the heart in which there is also a hole in the wall in the septum, but instead of dividing the
lower chambers it divides the upper chambers of the heart (atria), here a hole can vary in size and may
close on its own or may require surgery as well. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart
defect, in which also the baby is born with it. For both Atrial and Ventricular septal defect the size of
the opening or hole affects how severe the child s

Facts and Information on Fresh Water Ecosystems
1. Compare and contrast the main types of freshwater ecosystems. Name and describe the major zones
or a typical pond or lake. There are two main types of freshwater ecosystems, those that are eutrophic,
and oligotrophic. Both share the same salinity, yet oligotrophic lakes contain more oxygen than fish.
On the flipside, eutrophic ecosystems have more fish than oxygen, which has more cyanobacteria and
require less oxygen. The ecosystems have similar food chains, yet they differ on oxygen resources,
thus making species differ from eutrophic and oligotrophic ecosystems. Ponds would be eutrophic,
and lakes would be oligotrophic from the fish. Ponds not having a cycle of water flowing
differentiates them from each other. 2. Describe three benefits of damming rivers, and three costs.
What environmental, health, and social concerns has China s three gorges dam raised? Many cities
rely on reservoirs for their source of drinkable water. Also, Energy production from dams have the

Mid Term Break By Seamus Heaney Analysis
Callie Chang
Death brings numerous types of emotions: fear, grief, sorrow, shock, and confusion the list goes on.
All of which of course depend on each person. The reactions to the death of a close relative may differ
from person to person depending on various factors such as the relationship that the two people shared
or the prior experiences each person has had with the deaths of loved ones some may simply be used
to it or on the other hand be completely naïve, which would be a hard blow. It also differs with the age
of the person experiencing it because a small child for instance would not be old enough to completely

stanched and bandaged by the nurses and in a state where he suffered critical injuries and was treated
at the hospital. It is easily inferable that Heaney made the decision to include all these misleading
clues to also portray his own confusion with what was happening at the time; these clues give the
reader the same kind of confusion with the general atmosphere and subject of death. However, as
much as Heaney deliberately or unintentionally misleads the audience, there are parts of the poem

The Spy Of Spy Ring
Many present day movies make being a spy look like an exciting job title with huge money rewards at
the end of each mission completed. Yet, in the real world being a spy does not come with any glory,
and being a spy was very much looked down upon during the late 1700s. A spy needs to take risks,
and must weigh their options to find which decision will cause the least amount of casualties. They
need to be intelligent, know how to blend in, and how to become a completely different person. And to
protect themselves, a spy must know how to use information that they have to blackmail someone if
they ever get into a compromising situation. The Culper Spy Ring was a line of intelligence that was
created to give General George Washington a reliable system to spy on the British. Being apart of this
Ring was not a cakewalk and required many years of sacrifice. In the end however, the Culper Spy
Ring was able to provide General George Washington with important information such as ambush
warnings, British military movements, and even lead to the capture of Major John André. Being a spy
was a horrific title, yet they really should have been given more credit. The Culper Spy Ring would
not have been in our history if it weren t for Benjamin Tallmadge. He was born in 1754 in Setauket,
New York, and was a studied at Yale University. While a student there, Tallmadge developed a close

Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials
Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of
a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their
beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to
the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values
often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups
exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of
those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology
of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the
state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering
those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with
stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to
beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their
manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the
time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices
the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in
tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often
containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a
sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this
sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost
impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. Due to their individualism and
distaste for social ingratiation, the generation established an underlying pragmatic nature in the society
of their time. In addition to this, Generation Xers grew up in an age of incessant political turmoil. Take
for example, the Cold War,

How Did I Change My Life On The Field

It was the start of another Shabbona Park baseball season. My spirits were high, and I was excited to

ahead, but to me they were words of wisdom. One is his famous quotes was, Always show your best

the so called cool kid yelled from the top of his lugs: You want to play baseball? That sport is for girls!
Then, as if on cue one of his little henchmen came from behind the circle and backed up his leader, he

Sufficiency Is A Controversial Topic Among Philosophy
Sufficiency is a controversial topic among philosophy. This essay will discuss Adam Smith s opinion
on this topic in How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life written by Russ Roberts. From Smith s point
of view, justice, prudence, and beneficence are sufficient for a good life. His outlook is questionable
because it is self limiting and the details of a good life varies from person to person. Being a loveable
person and being loved due to it will increase the quality of one s life, but being a good person alone
cannot guarantee a good life.
Smith believes that the virtues of prudence, justice, and beneficence are sufficient for a good life.
Roberts introduces the term prudence by describing its modern definition to not act recklessly. ...

Smith uses the idea of an impartial spectator to explain the difference between was in socially just and
unjust. First, he believes that the only acceptable excuse for acting unjustly is as an act of revenge
towards someone who had initially acted unjust towards you. In contrast, to hurt someone for the sake
of your own benefit is unacceptable. Naturally, humans care more about themselves than they do
others. Although this may be true, Smith feels that from the impartial spectator s perspective, to act on
these selfish feelings is recognizably immoral.
Lastly, Smith introduces his most vague virtue needed to attain sufficiency: beneficence. Beneficence
is defined as the act of doing good things. To better understand what it means to act with beneficence,
Smith examines two subjects that make up beneficence gratitude and charity. Unlike prudence and
justice, he recognizes that both gratitude and charity come with many exceptions and modifications.
Nonetheless, he still believes that they make it attainable to practice beneficence. He compares
identifying beneficence with identifying good writing, we know it when we see it, but it not easily
taught or described with any precision (160). In response to this, Roberts states that the inexactitude of
the standards of beneficence is what makes doing good things so intimidating. According to Smith,
taking care of yourself, not

Open Mindset In Celia Behind Me
George Bernard Shaw, a famous Irish playwright stated that, Those who cannot change their minds
cannot change anything. Having an open mindset includes having the ability to induce and accept
change. In literature, authors often write about characters that display a clear mindset through their
stance on facing challenges, and their willingness to change. In the short stories Through the Tunnel
by Doris Lessing and Celia behind Me by Isabel Huggan the authors portray characters that have
completely different mindsets. The characters Jerry and Elizabeth exhibit contradictory personalities

Embracing and being able to handle change, as Jerry did, will accomplish improvement, unlike what
happened to Elizabeth after she refused to change. Moreover, the ability to face and overcome
challenges, much like Jerry did, will result in success, while running away from challenges will result
in retribution, as seen with Elizabeth. Further, having a growth mindset like Jerry will conclusively
have a better outcome than what a fixed mindset like Elizabeth would have. Jerry s capability to
change his mind allowed him to change his overlook on his life, and much like George Bernard Shaw

Racism in America
Racism in America
Alton Dawson
Liberty University
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to show the effects of racism in America. Racism is defined as one
group assumes superiority over other groups that develop attitudes of arrogance and ignorance.
Despite many laws and legislation attempts to eliminate the evils of racism, the problem focuses on
the cultural differences of race, color and biological supremacy. Racism comes in the form of ethnic
cleansing, hate groups, discrimination and restraint of equal rights. Over the last decade the media has
become one of the major contributors of racism in the 21st century. The media have displayed labels

Racism has a long continuous history in America that began from slavery to the passage of the Civil
Rights Act (1964).There are many forms of racism: open, violent and covert. Open racism focuses on
individual freedom to express racial thoughts and speech. Open racism exist in America because of an
individual s freedom of speech derived from the first amendment (Deo, 2012). Societal use of open
racism in America is declining and found unconstitutional and politically incorrect. Violent racism is a
form of racism that the use of violence is exhibited through imposing fear from racial groups to
express their agendas. Covert racism is the most common type of racism used today. The covert racist
is unaware that they are racist. Covert racists uses this tactic to intimidate groups or cultures that are
inferior to their culture. Individual racism is a form of racism that has one person discriminates against
another. Institutional racism is a form of racism when institutions discriminate against a race for unfair
and biased reasons, the same reason the individual racist would do (racial profiling). Lastly racism is
in the form of people displaying attitudes about other races and cultures. Since post 9 / 11 attitudes

The Pros And Cons Of Stereotypes
Photoshopping in the United States has a positive side and a negative side. Unfortunately, the media
and advertisements took photoshopping too far and showed off its evil ways. Some companies have
made their models look incredible, which isn t ideal in the minds of the children viewing those
particular photos. Teenagers spend a majority of their time on their smart devices scrolling through the
popular news feeds on their favorite social media apps constantly being reminded of extremely skinny
models with perfectly clear skin. They dream of looking the way all models do on the cover of a

According to a survey taken in 2001, which involved 13,601 undergraduates in high school, teenagers
who contemplate suicide the most are the ones who are overweight, but teens who recognized
themselves as either extremely fat or extremely skinny were twice as likely to undertake or consider
killing themselves (Arak). The act of photoshopping something so small can lead someone down a
deep, dark path. The suicide rate has increased a tremendous amount over the past few years, and the
main reason why is from young females viewing themselves as fat or overweight. These issues would
not occur if the models in retail stores or magazines were true to their size. If these juvenile children
are becoming suicidal from these reasons, the photoshopping industry should begin to create their
models to have those extra stretch marks and blemishes so they start to feel like it is alright to look
natural. A common argument against this is that the environment obviously plays a role in the buildup
of an eating disorder. Most females will develop an eating disorder at some time in their life, but less

How Can Hamlet Be Banned
HAMLET SYNOPSIS
It is a dark winter night and a ghost is wandering the grounds of the Danish castle, Elsinore. There are
various sightings of this ghost, all of which confirm it to be the ghost of the King, who recently died.
The throne was taken by his brother Claudius, who also married Queen Gertrude. Prince Hamlet, King
Hamlet s son, is brought to the castle. There, it is confirmed that the ghost is of King Hamlet, and the
ghost tells Prince Hamlet that he was murdered by none other than Claudius. King Hamlet wants the
Prince to avenge his death.
After this, Prince Hamlet becomes obsessed with seeking revenge upon Claudius. However, as he is
thoughtful and not violent, he waits, and descends into a depressive, obsessed madness. The King and
Queen are concerned for Hamlet s behaviour and hire his two friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to
watch him and look for signs of madness. The Lord Chamberlain, Polonius, suggest that Hamlet may
be deeply in love with his daughter Ophelia, however Hamlet shows no signs of being in love and
instead, claims that he wishes marriage to be banned and that Ophelia should be sent to a nunnery. ...

Inventions Of The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was an innovative period between the 1760s through the 1850s, making
people go from a predominantly agricultural existence into a more urban lifestyle. Starting after year
1750, all the factors that, made Great Britain the best place for industrialization. The primary
assessment that made it possible was the invention of machines that could do work that was
previously done by hand. This allowed production to shift from inside homes into factories. During
the industrial revolution, new inventions were plentiful and helped to revolutionize the way in which
people lived. The Steam engine, mass production/division of labor, mechanization, abundance of iron,

Mass Production and Division of labor is a manufacturing system based upon principles such as
interchangeable parts, large scale productions, and the high volume assembly line. In the early 1800s,
a man named Josiah Wedgwood started his own pottery business using mass production, they made
pottery for Europeans who liked to always keep their tea from porcelain because without the pottery
cups the flavor would spoil. He hired many labors to press down the clay, glaze pieces, carry things,
while others put handles on cups. Mass Production adapted to make workers more productive using
less required skills, while being paid less being able to lower costs of products while boosting quality.
Mass Production and Division became the most important structure for manufacturing across the
globe, utilizing extreme impact on popular culture.
Mechanization was a huge process, that changed work that was done before only by hands or animal s
to doing work with new machinery. The cotton thread and weaving for cloth in the 1800s was a main
product for these new machines, the cloth was much nicer, softer, and cleaner than any hand made
clothing as said in the book wealthy Europeans developed a liking for the costly import. This quote
shows that wealthy Europeans were itching for the newly designed products made by these machines.
The people working in this industrial adapted well towards mechanization by being able to create
more product faster, while being less stressed at work.

Impact Of Global Trade On Developing Countries
Global (international) trade is one of the most common norms happening all around the world today.
This is one of the core factors that have, over the years, lead the world to becoming more and more
globalized. Globalization is what our society has come to there is always interdependence with one
another. A nation on its own cannot possibly provide for, and meet all their citizen s desires, especially
now with a greater number of immigrants, hence a growing multicultural population. Take for instance
this example: you enter into a supermarket anywhere in the world today, and what you will find are
products and goods from just about every part of the globe; whether it be Greece, China, Italy, India
you name it. However, that said, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They each specialize in something or the other. For instance, Canada is a resource rich economy; it
exports many of their natural resources to other countries whose economy doesn t have a strong sector
in natural resources, and likewise imports other goods/services from them. Therefore, Global trade, to
some extent, is very crucial for all countries regardless of developmental status. It makes greater sense
to always trade with other nations. International trade allows each nation to specialize in a good or
service that they produce best. Two economic concepts are needed to understand the issue fully:
Comparative advantage and absolute advantage (Frank, Bernanke Osberg, 2012, P. 31). Comparative
advantage is when each country concentrates on the activities for which their opportunity cost is
lowest, and their overall output is maximized (more productive than the other nation in that particular
good/service) (Frank et al, 2012, P. 32). These depend on a country s accumulated physical and human
capital, difference in cultures social institutions, as well as many other factors (Frank et al, 2012, P.
34). This concept encourages countries to specialize in the production of goods and services in which
they have a comparative (also called as competitive) advantage in. On the other hand, Absolute
advantage is when one country as a whole can produce more of a certain good/service faster than the
other (takes relatively less time to produce) (Frank et al, 2012, P.

There have always been organizations that provide help for the needy. Now the economy is going

Yet, hunger only makes up for a small part of the complications that poverty brings. Without enough
money, how does someone suppose to afford to live in a house? Though most Miami County residents
do not see homeless people, does not hide the fact we have people living without a home. Peru is not a
big city like New York, or Los Angeles, but no matter where you are at in America, there will always
be those who cannot afford to rent or own any type of housing.
Even if everyone could afford some type of housing to live in, it does not mean they can afford all the
necessary utilities. Air conditioning is not a necessity, but someone might not have enough money to
provide a fan. The cost for utilities such as electricity for a fan to keep the cool in the summer heat, or
simply having running water might be a problem for someone with little to no income. With winter
approaching even some people will have to go without heat in the Miami County area.

definitely a need for one. Helping Hands was founded in 2002 by Hershel. (Manhart) It is run by
volunteers from the area and provides many solutions to the dilemmas of poverty. Some of the

Movements Throughout History Led by Farmers and the...
The populist movement occurred in the late 19th century, formed from the Grangers movement where
its goal was ta movement for people, to change the economic system where it would benefit farmers.
The grange movement rapidly declined in the 1870s and was replaced by the farmer alliances. The
farmer alliances were more political rather then social. The farmer s alliance later formed the populist.
The populist movement is considered to be an agrarian revolt by farmers and those concerned with
agriculture, because in the gilded age many people were moving to rural areas where banks and
industrial systems were superior over agriculture. The high tariffs, decentralization of currency, and

The Struggle For Political Balance
Delaney Reed Mrs. Barcroft AP Government 9 October 2015 The Struggle for Political Balance
Americans were known as a pioneering people who would struggle and fight to build for themselves.
A people who pushed the entire world into a new era and has continued to push the limits of
technology, military, and culture. After Britain finally surrendered the colonies to the American
citizens a new republican experiment was conducted. One that is still going on to this very day and
every citizen of America is a part of this grand experiment. The British Colonies were independent
from one another before the American Revolution, but a shared enemy began a strong bond between
the states. After things settled down the states were allied with one another in a form of confederation
and then finally under the Constitution as a united republic nation. There were those who were not
completely for a strong central government and favored the confederate style, but there were also
those who found comfort and strength in a centralized federal government. This federalist versus anti
federalist debate has continued throughout all of American history each side with its strengths and
weaknesses. The development of the debate and increase in federalism in American government can
be highlighted by the doctrine of implied powers, commerce clause, the American Civil War, and the
struggle for civil rights. Chief Justice Marshall was a pioneer for setting government precedents and

parents, religious beliefs, and government. Parents Objections to Immunizations There are quite some
reasons why parents refuse to get their children vaccinated. According to Tarrant and Gregory (2001),
parents refused to immunize their children because they have influenced by other s stories of sequelae
about immunization side effects. The adverse impact of injections and immunizations like fever,
irritability and rashes actually, did not stop parents to have their children immunized. This kind of
conversation can impact on parents, and reluctant to immunization, if it is being spread around the
communities repeatedly. The researchers further explain that mothers have the unique ideas about
immunization because they think, vaccinating their children will free, kids from diseases. The study
supported, by other two researchers Angelillo et.al (1999) and White (1995), where they share similar
results, that parents stopped immunizing their children because they ve heard negative implications of
the vaccinations in their communities by other parents. In brief, the reason behind these objections

Correct Grammar Is Important in Today s Workplaces
In today s work places correct grammar is very important. How does texting and using modern
technology to communicate with each other affect our grammar? I believe texting and instant
messaging has screwed us in communicating. According to articles written by Susan Adams and Kyle
Weins they believe younger generations are struggling with skills necessary to survive the modern
workplace. There are many skills needed in work places many of these include communication,
editing, listening, and writing. I am going into the field of science for my future career. Many jobs in
science require you to speak in front of large groups or person to person. Whichever one it is you need
to be able to talk clearly and understandably. As an Environmental ... Show more content on

What is an Environmental Science and Protection Technician? They are people who study pollution
and materials in environments. Many skills are needed to do this job, of these skills correct grammar,
communication, and editing skills are needed. For example in communications when you analysis
materials in the lab you write down the information and share it with your boss or your colleagues.
Also in many cases you will discuss it with clients. In this job you must be able to talk to people with
and interact with them. Another skill is grammar, when you write down the results of a test or a
summary of your research the grammar must be correct. You share these with clients and other
scientists, if you write a summary with incorrect grammar your results could be written off as invalid.
If you write a report with wrong grammar you must be able to correct with. These are editing skills;
these also can be used when explaining results. Instead of writing scientific jargon you make it
understandable to clients. You must be able to understand you own language as well. Each of these
skills can help make your job easier and your credibility would stand strong. All together these skills
are necessary in this job and many jobs alike.
As an Environmental Science and Protection Technician I would need to communicate with clients or
large groups. I need to focus on correct grammar, editing, and speaking skills. These are a few major
communication skills necessary because

Florentino Symptoms Of Cholera Essay
1. How are the symptoms of love equated in the novel with the symptoms of cholera? What literal and
metaphoric functions does the cholera plague serve in this novel? How does it change the characters
attitudes toward life? What light does it shed on Latin American society in the nineteenth century?
a. Throughout the novel, the symptoms of love and cholera are seen as being one and the same,
especially in Florentino s case. At the beginning of he and Fermina s early romance, Florentino s
mother mistakes his love sickness with the warning signs of cholera. Florentino s carriage driver also
comments that his condition after the first time he visited Fermina in her home looked as if he had
been infected with the deadly virus.
b. The cholera plague represents the real life spread of cholera that was prevalent in Latin America
during the time period in which this novel is based. Metaphorically, it is a symbol of both love and
death. As I mentioned before, its symptoms are frequently confused with those of love sickness. It is
also the cause of death for at least one character named in the novel, Dr. Urbino s father, as well as the
tens of millions of people it killed world wide.
c. Florentino is constantly plagued by cholera and suffers throughout his life as a result. Fermina is the
only cure for his illness and, though he tries to replace her with other girls, he finds that they give him
only temporary relief. Florentino spends over fifty years waiting for his

The Christ Of The Dead
Having heard from people all over of how the Thessalonians gave up their worship of idols and had
committed themselves to serving the one true God (1 Thessalonians 1:9), the apostle Paul was eager to
embark on a mission to Thessalonia long before he ever did (1 Thessalonians 1 3). However, the
Thessalonians were very new to the Christian faith and were also somewhat naïve when it came to
understanding certain aspects of their own religious doctrine, as shown to us by the Thessalonians fear
of the Second Coming of Jesus, and the death of the believers, which will come when he returns. Paul
knew this and didn t want the Thessalonians to be uninformed, so he told them what to expect, (1
Thessalonians 4:13 18), and also told them not to fear what was to come, because all the believers,
living and death would meet the lord beyond the clouds. In The Taking Up of The Dead, Joseph
Plevnik ponders on whether or not Paul encountered the Thessalonians before this, and spoke to them
of the resurrection of the dead. Plevnik also questions whether Paul registered a change of view on the
matter between 1 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians, and wonders what s to be made of the translation
motif in 1Thessalonians? Plevnik begins his argument by mentioning how religious scholar B. Rigaux
once commented on the Thessalonian letters. He observed that because certain exegetes concluded on
the basis of (v.13) that the Thessalonians knew nothing of the resurrection of the dead, (as seen by

The Heroin Epidemic Essay
Volunteering and participating in service projects are two of the most rewarding activities in my
opinion. Some people may find it was a hassle or only do it because they have to meet the minimum
requirement for school or work. Helping others, for me, has always been somewhat second nature to
me. Over many years of volunteering I believe I have developed qualities that will stick with me for
life and benefit me in my career. As early as freshman year, in high school, I found myself looking for
ways to give back. I started by looking for opportunities within school, where I came across the A+
tutoring program, and so my journey of giving back began. While tutoring, my patience for others
really evolved, partly by choice and partly because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You would think that people would stop using when they hear the statistics, or when they see their
friend die because of it, but the truth is they can t stop because they are already addicted. Alison, a
young girl using states, From the day I started using, I never stopped. Within one week I had gone
from snorting heroin to shooting it. Within one month I was addicted and going through all my money.
(International) The expanding epidemic of unawareness is taking its toll on the adolescents of St.
Louis City, St. Louis County, and the rest of the world. Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs makes it
somewhat easier to understand why people use heroin. The top three levels of the pyramid, 1.social
2.esteem 3.self actualization, show what people are trying to get out of using. Most people will begin
using due to peer pressure and trying to fit in. What kids do not realize is that the first time using
could lead to addiction. So they will continue using because it makes them feel better about
themselves, it becomes a part of who they are. Pretty soon they look around and realize heroin is the
only thing they have left, because everyone else has left. These problems teens are facing here in
Missouri are the same ones they are facing all over the world. A recent statistic from the International
Statistics of Heroin Addiction Abuse reports that over 9 million people in the world are using heroin.

In the Robotic minimally invasive surgical procedure the surgeon uses two master controls to operate four robotic limbs. The surgeon operates from a distance with the help of a video console that provides a high resolution 3 dimensional view of the operation area inside the body. A distinct advantage of robotic laparoscopic surgery is that it can be used to perform surgical procedures from a remote location without the surgeon s presence in the operating room. Gynecology Laparoscopy Gynecology laparoscopy procedures are the new alternative to conventional gynecology surgery. • 3. The T-Distribution and T-Test The T Distribution and T Test In probability and statistics, Student s t distribution (or simply the t distribution) is a continuous probability distribution that arises when estimating the mean of a normally distributed population in situations where the sample size is small (Narasimhan , 1996). Similar to the normal distribution, the t distribution is symmetric and bell shaped, but has heavier tails, meaning that it is more likely to produce values far from its mean. This makes the t distribution useful for understanding statistical behaviors of random quantities. It plays a role in a number of widely used statistical analyses, including the Student s t test for assessing the statistical significance of the difference between two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An important property of a test statistic is that we must be able to determine its sampling distribution under the null hypothesis, which allows us to calculate p values. For example, suppose we wish to test whether a coin is fair. If we flip the coin 100 times and record the results, the raw data can be represented as a sequence of 100 Heads and Tails. If our interest is in the probability of obtaining a head, we only need to record the number T out of the 100 flips that produced a head, and use T0 = 50 as our null value. In this case, the exact sampling distribution of T is the binomial distribution, but for larger sample sizes the normal approximation can be used. Using one of these sampling distributions, it is possible to compute either a one tailed or two tailed p value for the null hypothesis that the coin is fair. The two tailed test is when a given statistical hypothesis, H0 (the null hypothesis), will be rejected when the value of the test statistic is either sufficiently small or sufficiently large. This contrasts with a one tailed test, in which only one of the rejection regions sufficiently small or sufficiently large is preselected according to the alternative hypothesis being selected, and the hypothesis is rejected only if the test statistic satisfies that criterion. (UCLA, amp; , 2009) Among the most frequently used t tests are: a one sample location test of whether the mean of a normally distributed population has a value ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of A Competency For Execution Evaluation Introduction An ethical decision is a decision in which a person is conflicted between two moral ideals. The answer is not clear in these types of situations. The deliverance of punishment in America has always been an ethical decision, especially when the punishment is death. After a horrific crime is committed, many complicated proceedings take place, and sometimes these proceedings sometimes lead to the decision to execute the person responsible. The next steps are complex and often times create moral conflicts for those who are participating in them. One step that must take place when an accused has been sentenced to death is a competency exam which is administered by a mental health professional. This paper will focus on mental health professional s participation to certify someone as death ready prior to execution and the ethical decisions that mental health professionals face during this time, yet the ultimate need for their expertise. Background Information A competency for execution evaluation is required by law to be performed before the execution of a person sentenced to death. This exam aims to make sure the accused is death ready, or in other words are they competent to be executed. To be considered competent to be executed, one must: (a) understand and appreciate the punishment, (b) understand and appreciate death, and (c) have the ability to work with the judicial team (Neal, 2010, p. 148). The mental health care professional also needs to take into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The scarlet stains, blood, could not literally shut away men to keep them from health, but their appearance disturbed and frightened others, leading to the victim being left to a cruel, lonely death. His courage is manifested, under the most terrifying circumstances, when the mob breaks into the palace. His self control when the dumb show enacts his secret crime before his eyes is nothing less than marvelous. (xviii) The irony found in the characterization of the antagonist is balanced by an equal irony in the presentation of the protagonist. Hamlet is present at the court gathering dressed in black, the color of mourning, for his deceased father. He is not a man of the world, but rather demurring and thoughtful and by himself. • 8. Importance Of Immersion Essay Why English immersion works ? Learning a language implies practice and this is what immersion is all about. Over the years, research has shown the positive outcomes of this method on our ability to learn a new language. Whilst it may be easy to think that language immersion is all about living in a foreign country, the truth is that it is actually more about creating an environment around you. It s all about the way you ll be willing to provoke opportunities to bring English in your everyday life. Good news (and we ll be bringing a lot today) : English is one of the easiest language to immerse oneself. Also paramount for your everyday life (in NZ). Immersion gets you out of your comfort zone (trouver un moyen de centrer sur English) Travelling taught me that getting out of your comfort zone was always for the best. Well, you know what ? Same thing goes for language learning! While it s easy and comfy to surround yourself with people speaking the same language as you, it takes a lot of courage to immerse yourself in a foreign language environment. And it s what immersion is all about : courage and (at least at first) discomfort. It is as simple as that : when you don t have another choice but to be understood you force yourself to communicate and therefore, you can t avoid practicing. These are thin wooden struts, made from the same wood as the top plate, glued to the underside in a fan shape (see Figure 2), this bracing not only adds strength but it also controls the way it vibrates and therefore has a big effect on the final sound. With its underlying focus of the essence of peacebuilding, it looks far beyond what one may learn in any textbook or seminar. While the first 8 chapters of the text are ripe with areas for further analysis, here I will focus only on theme, found in one chapter, in the interest of brevity. In chapter 2 of The Moral Imagination we are introduced to real life micro case studies. The cases aim to help the reader understand how people experiencing violent conflict throughout the world have worked to transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our community, building on Lederach s statement on why the book was written. That being said, we can see that Lederach is operating under the assumption that current day peacebuilding and conflict management is not working as well as it should. It is clear that he thinks there is something more that needs to be involved in current strategies and models. He believes we must move from looking at actors in a conflict as separate involved parties and instead view parties as a web of relationships which include our enemies. This requires a shift in thinking for those in thefield of peacebuilding and for those involved in the conflict, but in making this shift, we can look at conflicts as existing within our communities rather than between our ... It s congenital, this means that a baby is born with it. It is an opening or hole in the dividing wall called the Septum, between the two lower chambers of the heart, right and left ventricles. Ventricular septal defects are the most common type of congenital heart defects. A VSD allows oxygen rich blood to pass from the left ventricle through the opening in the septum. Then it mixes with oxygen poor blood in the right ventricle. There are different types of ventricular septal defects, the type your child has depends on which part of the wall between the ventricles is involved. Also the size of the opening or hole varies. A ventricular septal defect may occur more often in some families, this is because of gene defects. But most of the time, the cause is unknown. Similarly to ventricular septal defect, an Atrial septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is also a hole in the wall in the septum, but instead of dividing the lower chambers it divides the upper chambers of the heart (atria), here a hole can vary in size and may close on its own or may require surgery as well. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart defect, in which also the baby is born with it. On the flipside, eutrophic ecosystems have more fish than oxygen, which has more cyanobacteria and require less oxygen. Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. Due to their individualism and distaste for social ingratiation, the generation established an underlying pragmatic nature in the society of their time. This essay will discuss Adam Smith s opinion on this topic in How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life written by Russ Roberts. From Smith s point of view, justice, prudence, and beneficence are sufficient for a good life. His outlook is questionable because it is self limiting and the details of a good life varies from person to person. Being a loveable person and being loved due to it will increase the quality of one s life, but being a good person alone cannot guarantee a good life. Smith believes that the virtues of prudence, justice, and beneficence are sufficient for a good life. Smith uses the idea of an impartial spectator to explain the difference between was in socially just and unjust. First, he believes that the only acceptable excuse for acting unjustly is as an act of revenge towards someone who had initially acted unjust towards you. In contrast, to hurt someone for the sake of your own benefit is unacceptable. Naturally, humans care more about themselves than they do others. Although this may be true, Smith feels that from the impartial spectator s perspective, to act on these selfish feelings is recognizably immoral. Lastly, Smith introduces his most vague virtue needed to attain sufficiency: beneficence. Beneficence is defined as the act of doing good things. To better understand what it means to act with beneficence, Smith examines two subjects that make up beneficence gratitude and charity. Unlike prudence and justice, he recognizes that both gratitude and charity come with many exceptions and modifications. Nonetheless, he still believes that they make it attainable to practice beneficence. He compares identifying beneficence with identifying good writing, we know it when we see it, but it not easily taught or described with any precision (160). In response to this, Roberts states that the inexactitude of the standards of beneficence is what makes doing good things so intimidating. According to Smith, taking care of yourself, not ... The suicide rate has increased a tremendous amount over the past few years, and the main reason why is from young females viewing themselves as fat or overweight. This is one of the core factors that have, over the years, lead the world to becoming more and more globalized. Globalization is what our society has come to there is always interdependence with one another. A nation on its own cannot possibly provide for, and meet all their citizen s desires, especially now with a greater number of immigrants, hence a growing multicultural population. For instance, Canada is a resource rich economy; it exports many of their natural resources to other countries whose economy doesn t have a strong sector in natural resources, and likewise imports other goods/services from them. Therefore, Global trade, to some extent, is very crucial for all countries regardless of developmental status. It makes greater sense to always trade with other nations. International trade allows each nation to specialize in a good or service that they produce best. Two economic concepts are needed to understand the issue fully: Comparative advantage and absolute advantage (Frank, Bernanke Osberg, 2012, P. 31). Comparative advantage is when each country concentrates on the activities for which their opportunity cost is lowest, and their overall output is maximized (more productive than the other nation in that particular good/service) (Frank et al, 2012, P. 32). These depend on a country s accumulated physical and human capital, difference in cultures social institutions, as well as many other factors (Frank et al, 2012, P. 34). This concept encourages countries to specialize in the production of goods and services in which they have a comparative (also called as competitive) advantage in. On the other hand, Absolute advantage is when one country as a whole can produce more of a certain good/service faster than the other (takes relatively less time to produce) (Frank et al, 2012, P. ... Throughout the novel, the symptoms of love and cholera are seen as being one and the same, especially in Florentino s case. At the beginning of he and Fermina s early romance, Florentino s mother mistakes his love sickness with the warning signs of cholera. The Christ Of The Dead Having heard from people all over of how the Thessalonians gave up their worship of idols and had committed themselves to serving the one true God (1 Thessalonians 1:9), the apostle Paul was eager to embark on a mission to Thessalonia long before he ever did (1 Thessalonians 1 3). However, the Thessalonians were very new to the Christian faith and were also somewhat naïve when it came to understanding certain aspects of their own religious doctrine, as shown to us by the Thessalonians fear of the Second Coming of Jesus, and the death of the believers, which will come when he returns.
