Life Under The Chief Doublespeak Officer By William Lutz
In the essay, Life under the Chief Doublespeak Officer, the writer, William Lutz, speaks about the
vocabulary used to maneuver and misguide the everyday person. We are introduced to the fancy
words and titles that add positive connotation to the reality of negativity. The essay enlightens and
teaches not to be fooled by filtering terms.
Without the use of description an essay, poem or story would be considered as uninteresting and
boring. The use of expressive language is a descriptive element used in this essay. The language
applied allows the reader to see exactly what the writer is saying. The writer deliberately chose
words that paint a picture and are vividly expressive. Description should aim for accuracy and
fairness and avoid

What Are The Importance Of Countries Around The World
Every once in a while we come across facts that change our perspective of the world. One such
fact is the existence of countries which when put together can probably cover half of the area of
some cities from the rest of the large countries around the globe. These countries, like most
countries, have their own set of laws, governance, cultures and picturesque locales.
1.Vatican City.
Spread across an area of 110 acres, the Vatican City is a country within the city of Rome. With a
population of 1,000, the country is the smallest, not just in terms of area but also population. The

Ocean. The total land area of the islands of Tuvalu is 26 square kilometres and has a population of
10,640. The country was once a British territory but became independent in 1978. Tourism is not
very significant due to the location of the island. In 2010, less than 2,000 visitors came to Tuvalu,
with 65% of them coming for business. The official languages are Tuvaluan and English.
5.San Marino.
The Republic of San Marino, also known as the Most Serene Republic of San Marino is an
enclaved microstate surrounded by Italy, situated on the Italian Peninsula on the north eastern side
of the Apennine Mountains. Its size is just over 61 square kilometres with a population of 33,

wealthiest in terms of GDP per capita. The country s economy mainly relies on finance, industry,
services and tourism.
6.Liechtenstein.
The Principality of Liechtenstein is a doubly landlocked German speaking microstate in Central
Europe. It has an area of just over 160 square kilometres and an estimated population of 37,000. It

Liver Homeostasis
The liver is an important organ which operates the bodys energy metabolism. It acts as a centre
point to various tissues like skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. Food is therefore digested in the
gastrointestinal tract, and so the glucose, fatty acids and the amino acids are absorbed within the
blood stream. Then these are transported to the livervia the portal vein. The liver is controlled by
insulin and other metabolic hormones. Glucoseis therefore metabolised in to pyruvate through the
process of glycolosis. The pyruvate is then completely oxidised to generate ATP through the TCA
cycle and therefore oxidative phosphorylation happens in the mitochondria.
The three hormones that are involved in the liver are called glucagon, insulin and ... Show more

The pyruvate is then imported in to the mitochondria and then it is metabolized by PDC to make
acetyl CoA. The acetyl CoA is combined with oxaloacetate by citrate synthase to generate citrate.
Then the citrate is exported in the cytoplasm and then it is split in to acetyl CoA and oxaloacetate
by ATP citrate lyase. Oxaloacetate would be reduced to malate which is then converted in to
pyruvate by the malic enzyme which relases NADPH. The pyruvate is then recycled back in to the
mitochondria and it is carboxylated by pyruvate carboxylase to make oxaloacetate and this would
drive the citrate

Essay on Black Arts Movement
BAM! The Black Arts Movement
The amazing era of the Black Arts Movement developed the concept of an influential and artistic
blackness that created controversial but significant organizations such as the Black Panther Party.
The Black Arts Movement called for an explicit connection between art and politics (Smith). This
movement created the most prevalent era in black art history by taking stereotypes and racism and
turning it into artistic value.
This connection between black art and politics was first made clear in a great essay written by
Larry Neal in the summer of 1968. This essay illustrated the Black Arts Movement s manifesto or
plan. Neal wrote: The Black Arts Movement is radically opposed to any concept of the artist...

Analysis Of The Film Waltz With Bashir
What are you insecure about? Every individual has at least one insecurity that they internally
battle with every day. For example, some may be embarrassed of their physical appearance, which
may lead to low self esteem. Others may be socially awkward and some may even be insecure
about their financial status. Social anxietyand insecurities have rose among Israelis and Palestinians
throughout recent years. In the Television Show, Arab Labor, viewers were shown the personal
identity issues that the main character, Amjad, battled with. The personality of Israelis and
Palestinians has affected their vulnerability to certain situations following the 2009 Gaza Conflict.
They have faced distressing repercussions from war such as posttraumatic stress disorder. In the
film, Waltz with Bashir, a young man struggles with reoccurring dreams that stemmed from his
time as a solider in the 1982 Lebanon War. Just like any individual on this earth, Israelis and
Palestinians face social anxietyand battle with insecurities every day from certain events that affect
the way they carry out their everyday lives. In the Television Show, Arab Labor, the main character,
Amjad, battles with insecurities with his own personal identity. Amjad is an Israeli born,
Palestinian journalist in search of his identity. He has faced religious, cultural, and political
differences that cause him to be insecure. Amjad felt like he stuck out like a sore thumb in life.

Gaming Pc Vs. Pc Gaming
A gaming PC is superior to anything console gaming down to the level of segments it contains. On
the off chance that individuals like to level headed discussion, ask a PC gamer and console gamer
to clarify why one kind of gaming is superior to the next. Both consoles and PC upgrade the gaming
background in their own specific manner, permitting gamer to feel associated and coordinated with
better illustrations, smooth motions and fresh, clear sound. This entire contention has found that
PC gaming is superior to anything console gaming. Improved illustrations is a main consideration
in light of the fact that a diversion with terrible quality is not satisfying to the player. Individuals
likewise have the choice to redesign their video card to meet the requests of more up to date
innovation and update quality to keep their selves satisfied. Another gigantic reason is the mouse
and console support. With a gaming console, comprehend that individuals need to surrender the
exactness and precision it needs with a customary mouse and console. At the point when individuals
play an amusement that depends on this level of pinpoint precision, they won t show signs of
improvement results with a controller than the mouse or console. In the event that numerous
individuals lean toward a controller, they can connect one to their PC on the other hand, connecting
a mouse and console to a console. The diversion mods, while downloading an amusement mod, it

Should Sports Be Considered A Real Sport Essay
Should sports be considered a real sport? There is a lot of talk on this topic and should it be
considered a real sport. And with the plain answer yes it should there is so much that you can go
into the back this up. They do everything that real sports do like championships and seasons. They
have so many competitions and cups. There are pro players and people getting paid to do these
sports. They only thing that people say and think about them is that it s just a video gamehow can it
be a real sport. I think sports would be a real sport with the amount if skill involved and the
teamwork at play, and the following it has.Well look at it like this, you could say that sports have
already been considered a real sport. How? Well, chess is considered a real sport and you could
classify it to a game like a counterstrike or Call of duty. This is a growing sport and will someday
be just as big as a football. This lets people who may not be able to run as fast or catch a ball as
well actually do something in sport. Games like League of Legends and counterstrike take a lot
of skill to learn and we may never master what they have to offer. But these games take the same
amount of skill or even more to play. With games like football, you can catch a ball better and run
faster. That is not as much skill as learningsmokes across a map or learning spray control or timing
your attacks just right for if you go one second off you lose it all blows up in your face. These
games take so much

Study Of The Navy Leaders Guide Mobile Application
Summary
The Benchmarking Quarterly Report provides the results of the Technology Enhancement Center s
(TEC) most recent benchmark study that evaluates the user experience and usability of T2
products. This report reviews the benchmark study of the Navy Leaders Guide mobile application.
During the 3rd quarter of 2015, TEC conducted a pilot benchmark study comprised of attitudinal
and behavioral methods used to evaluate user satisfaction and performance of the Navy Leaders
Guide mobile application. Although 15 elected to participate in the study, only 10 participants
completed the full evaluation consisting of the Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction
(QUIS) (Chin, et al 1988) and a think aloud task analysis (Ericsson, et al 1980).
Based on data provided solely by the QUIS, the overall mean is 7.75 (Very Good).
Introduction
TEC benchmark studies measure the current user experience and usability of T2 and T2/VA co
branded products such as Navy Leaders Guide and AfterDeployment.org to provide a baseline
against similar products and/or future T2 product versions. Benchmarking against similar products
is useful for identifying the strengths and weakness in user experience and usability for future
growth, and benchmarking earlier versions against newer versions of a product shows user
experience and usability improvement over time.
This benchmark study was a pilot designed to evaluate the T2/VA co branded product Navy
Leaders Guide using attitudinal and behavioral

The Ability Of Overcome Degenerative Policy Making Is...
The ability to overcome degenerative policy making is through policy analysis which deconstructs
policy designs in order to expose degenerative characteristics and deceptions (Schneider Ingram
1997). Public policy needs to be inclusive and should provide a clear vision of possibilities,
explanations of how and why antidemocratic elements are embedded in policydesigns, and
interpretations of how designs impact democratic life (Schneider Ingram 1997, 207). According to
Stone (2011), knowledge tools reduce the need for coercive action or force because in the rational
model, information will resolve conflict between actual behavior and desired behavior.
Providing knowledge or educating make it unnecessary to incentivize or sanction the target in
order to elicit the desired behavior. Instead, lack of information or capacity is the primary barrier,
and once the appropriate information is relayed to the target, the desired behavior will follow
(Schneider Ingram, 1997; Stone, 2011). However, people use a variety of strategies to help their
interests and political goals. Critics of rational choice theory contend that people act largely
according to prior attitudes and beliefs rather than new information (Stone, 2011, p. 314). One must
be aware of human and social behavior if they are to try and analyze policy.
Schneider Ingram (1997) identify some general principles (203 206) to look for during policy
analysis. Target groups should be constructed across the lines of

The Access Control System For Providing Physical Security
TO PROVIDE PHYSICAL SECURITY?
Introduction
In the present world, the Access Control System is used in all the places where it is intended
that a system should allow the authorized persons to get in or leave the facilities as and when
required and also to keep a record about these movements. Basically it determines who is
allowed to enter or exit; similarly allowed to exit or enter even with the time when they are
allowed to enter or exit. In the past, the same job could have been partially done by locks and
keys. But there were number of limitations of the mechanical locks keys. Firstly, it did not
provide any restriction to the key holders to specific times dates. Secondly, it did not provide any
records of the key used to a specific door. Thirdly, the keys can be easily copied or transferred to
the unauthorized person. Finally, when the key is lost, the authorized person losses his access to
the protected areas and the locks must be re keyed.
Electronic Access Control System has come forward to solve the problems of mechanical locks
keys. The system uses a computer network where a wide range of credentials or identifications
are used to replace those mechanical keys. In the system, when the credentials are provided then
the access is granted; the door is unlocked for a predetermined time and the transaction is
recorded. Again, when the access is denied, the door remains locked and the attempted access are
also recorded. The system can also monitor the door and

Citizen Kane Conventions
Orson WellsВґ film Citizen Kane, has long been regarded as one of, if not the greatest film of all
time. It has been beloved by critics for decades and will be at or near the top of any list of great
movies. Part of this appeal lays in the fact that, Citizen Kane, challenges many of the preexisting
narrative and technological aspects of filmmaking in the 1930s. Citizen Kane, defied or adjusted
these traditional conventions in order to suit its own narrative and because of that it is still one of
the most groundbreaking and influential films of all time.
One of the main areas where Citizen Kane, adjusts and challenges the conventions of its time is
through its own narrative structure. Even by today s standards of film, Citizen Kane, ... Show more

In the movie the use of camera focus and long takes builds upon the technology developed in the
30s (Lewis, Smoodin 113). Wide shots that capture several elements at once such as the shot of
KaneВґs family speaking to a banker with Kane himself in the far background are an example of
the use of the clever use of the camera. Long takes and shots of Kane walking in large rooms
also seem to defy then conventional wisdom to have many shorter takes instead focusing on
several elements for long periods of time (Lewis, Smoodin 112). But it is not only in camera
techniques where the film pushes boundaries. In lighting the film makes heavy use of various
lighting techniques in order to show many of the characters in shadow or conversely to use large
amounts of light in certain shots (Thomas Youtube). In terms of sound the film is able to use
effective sound mixing to mix in several characters speaking at once along with background noise
(Thomas Youtube). It also integrates the microphones into the background to avoid using boom
mics and allowing the viewer to see the ceiling of buildings, helping to establish a greater sense of
realism (Thomas Youtube). Finally the film even makes heavy use of Matte paintings in the
background, something that had been pioneered in the 30s and is used effectively in the film
(Lewis Smoodin 110). Altogether the film is able to make good

Relationship between Exposure to PAH s and Insulin Resistance
1.Introduction
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are ubiquitous environmental toxic compounds with
fused aromatic rings, formed from incomplete combustion of carbon containing materials such as
coal and fossil fuels, cigarette smoking, and food cooking.1,2 Non occupational exposure routes
of PAHs include: inhalation airborne PAHs such as polluted air or cigarette smoking, ingestion
of PAH containing food such as charred and broiled meat, as well as dermal absorption.3,4 PAHs
can bioaccumulate through the food chain because of its nature of resistant to degradation.5 The
adverse health effects of PAHs have been widely studied recently mainly focusing on increasing
risks of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and a variety of cancers, including
respiratory, renal, and breast cancers.6 15 Recently, several studies suggested an association
between ambient air pollution and type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and ambient fine particulate matter
(PM) may induce insulin resistance.16 21 Since air pollution as well as smoking and red meat
consumption were consistently linked to cardiometabolic diseases such as diabetes,22,23 and all of
them are important exposure sources of PAHs, it s biologically plausible that PAHs may play
important roles in the relationship between cigarette smoking, ambient air pollution and
cardiometabolic diseases.
Insulin resistance is a state where there is reduced biological effect for any given concentration of
insulin.24,25 It is regarded

Examples Of Frankenstein As A Gothic Novel
Emma Christensen
Mrs. Kathryn Schroder
English IV Honors
8 December 2017
Frankenstein as a Gothic Novel Gothic novels are popularly known as an English genre of fiction
characterized with a mysterious storyline. These novels often contain unnatural and horror filled
storylines as well. This genre of literature was at its peak of popularity in the 18th and 19th century.
The novel Frankenstein was written by Mary Shelley and was released in 1818 during the peak of
gothic novels. Within this book, the main character Victor Frankenstein goes off on his own to
conduct highly secretive experiments in his isolated laboratory. In the dead of night, with the fog
hung low, he would sneak into graveyards and steal body parts in preparation for creating his
monster. This grotesque monster Victor created was too overwhelming for him to handle, so
instead he left the creature to die alone, and so, the main plot of Frankenstein begins. Other well
known works of Gothic novels include Jane Eyre by Charlotte BrontГ«, Dracula by Bram Stoker,
and The Monk by Matthew Gregory Lewis. All of the works of literature listed contain specific
examples of gothic elements. In the book Frankenstein the characteristics of the monster, the
murders caused by the monster, and the setting of the story represent a deep connection to gothic
literature. Gothic novels are known for involving supernatural elements and creatures to emphasize
the feeling of mystery throughout the novel. In Frankenstein,

Fifty three sketches are scattered in the 121 pages of Browns edition. The depiction of Ichabod
Crane does not match his illustration. He is drawn as handsome as Brom Van Brunt and is not
long armed, lanky, and long legged with a pointy nose (Brown 21). The Headless Horseman is
illustrated to description having sharp and jagged edges with a frightening look. The three books
share the narrative style and ending with only IchabodГўs hat and a crushed pumpkin found and the
old country wives retelling the tale of the Headless Horseman (Rackham 101).

Adult Learning Is The Acquisition Of Knowledge By Adults

Adult learning is the acquisition of knowledge by adults. Theories on adult learning have been
discoursed and analyzed thoroughly by different people, with the aim of trying to define it and
optimize it. The two articles I have read describe adult learning, discuss its characteristics and
explain various approaches and means of optimization of this subject.
Abstract 1
Basically, this article by Malcolm Knowles is a conglomerate of all aspects of adult learning. It
outlines aspects of adult learning, theories of adult learning, and expands on them. The main idea
of this article is to create awareness on the existence of adult learning, and to help instructors of
adult learning to know how to go about it successfully. Additionally, the article is of help to adult
learners to enable them to learn the most they can (Knowles, 2007).
Matters concerning adult learning in the article are:
Active Learning
This involves a learning process that engages the learners. Attention is moved from the teacher to
the learners through practices such as role playing, group work and problem based approaches, for
instance. These activities put the learners in a situation where it is up to them to use available
learning resources to solve problems, hence causing active learning.
Adult Learning Concepts
These are principles that enhance and promote quality and successful adult learning. These concepts
include:

Narrative Essay On Fortunato
Montessor, you ve outdone yourself tonight! I say aloud as I try and make my way home. The
firewater was beginning to affect my step and I found myself needing the support of a wall.
Oh but if Fortunato could hear this tale! He would find it of the upmost hilarity!
I stumble along the walls of the darkened street, following only the lamp lit sky as if it were a trail
in this star less night. Pedestrians and couples alike approached and passed me. Some amused and
careless, others, as I, trying to figure out where they were and how to get home. I had all night to
myself and no other matters to attend. Remembering I had a meeting with fortunato tomorrow for
breakfast saddened me. I wish he would have chosen his words better and treaded softer than as he

Fortunato. Fortunato. You deserved what you got but alas I will ponder your absence on nights
such as these where there are no lighted comforts from the stars nor warmth of a fireplace! I will
remember you for our good times and shared memories and not your fatal discrepancy.
As I sat on the street a couple came upon me and were beginning to question my intentions.
Are you okay to be sitting here vulnerable to the elements and any of who the send your way? And
why do you cry on such a wonderful night such as this?
You do not understand. The departure of a friend has left me in pieces and you are not what I
need. Go away now.. I... I just need to rest.
You look intoxicated my friend. Let us take you to retire somewhere in safety rather than this street
filled with drunken murderers and night abductees. My partner and I will hold you and guide you
to where you wish to be.
You dare look upon me with pity! I am a montressor! I have slain many a men and have hidden

Christopher Columbus Dbq
1.)There are a lot of reasons why Christopher Columbus was a great leader and in this journal it
shows many examples. For instance Christopher Columbus is very loyal to his king back in his
homeland has he always says he will return to his highness and tell his ability with all of his
discoveries. Also he is a hero because the islands he came across he let natives sail with him and
he gave them hope which he does through god and Christian belief, and he doesn t force them to
anything he gives natives gifts therefore earning their trust and then he gets a helping hand from
them. He also explains how people from differently lands believed him and his men to be Men s

destroying such an infinite number of souls is that the Christians have an ultimate aim, which is
to acquire gold... .When Columbus says some was killed to show the power. 3.)I feel there is
many things in Kirkpatrick Sale that are valid but one that sticks out is when he talks about the

My Uncle
My Best Uncle When growing up I really didn t have no family come, and see me or my sister
when we were little and the only person who did was my uncle who I became to follow around
and learn things from him. When I first met my uncle he made me like the activities we done
together which he gave me the experience of liking the same hobbies as as him before he died.
When meeting my uncle In Missouri I was five years old, he lived on a field and his house was
made in a hill because of tornados. He loved where he lived because he got to see the airplanes
fly close above his house when sitting on the porch. Ever since I saw a plane real close like that
I was afraid of them because of the loud noise I heard for the first time because being so close to
me which cause me to have a fear of planes. My uncle loved planes he collected the remote
control gas planes for many years and took one of his rc planes and flew it around me so it
would take a little bit of my fear away, before taking me to a real plane. The next day he took me
to the airport where I got to see his plane that he owned which we eventually flew in. As we got
ready to get in, he knew from the start I was afraid of heights so what he done was told me I
want you to sit back and relax and breath while looking at the clouds what my uncle done was
took me slowly up elevation by elevation to get me unafraid of how high we went after that we
went joyriding in the plane going around and viewing great viewing spots in Missouri. Since
then my uncle gave me the experience of what it s like to be in a airplane and got me unafraid of
the planes and heights it self. About when I was ten I went to Missouri again to see my uncle in
the summer time and got to see many new fun things visiting him this time around. One of his
main hobbies was cars from the stories he told, he would go to car shows and watch the stylish
cars get shown and be ranked who has the best car. When I was with him when he went to his next
car show event that was going on he told me many things about these certain cars from back in the
day that has been shown that was very cool to me. While with him he bought many model toy cars,

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. s Heading The Call
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader well known for his bravery wanted equality between people
of all races. In the passage Heading the Call , Diana Childress writes about his experiences when
he was young. These experiences shaped his beliefs and actions as an adult. King learned about
racial inequality when two sons of a white neighborhood storekeeper stopped playing with him.
Whether the father of the two didn t want them to play with him or the two boys were influenced
by the events around them is not known. Either way King knew this was wrong. His mother was
never too subtle when she explained racial discrimination, but always reminded him that he was
as good as anyone . King also experienced a similar problem when he was in high school. After
winning first prize in a speech contest, he represented his school at a statewide competition. As he
returned home to Atlanta he and his teacher were forced to give up their seats to white passengers
and remained seat less for 90 miles. King said he had never been so angry in his life. In the future

History Of San Francisco Bay
2.BACKGROUND The San Francisco bay was one of the best natural harbours in the world and
it was also the gateway to the Pacific Ocean. (Loomis, 1958) This fact meant that its bay would
become a leading trade centre. A rush of people were attracted to San Francisco because of its
port, the natural beauty and the gold rush, where thousands of people were brought in by ship.
This lead to a shortage in water in all areas and transportation services had to be improved to
provide enough water to all places. A ferry service was started that crossed the river from San
Francisco to Sacramento to carry heavy equipment and people to the gold fields in the time of the
gold rush and just thereafter. As the population grew the ferry service improved as

Synthetic Biological Engineering Essay
Starting at the earliest of high school levels, students are being taught about biological synthetic
engineering, or being able to create life out of chemicals of varying types. The idea of being able
to create life from just about nothing is something that is becoming popular. While it has its
advantages for scientific purposes as far as medicine is concerned, the fact that the FBI has to be
involved to make sure that the sequences are not being distributed for unlawful purposes, such as
bioterrorism overseas or throughout the United States is a troublesome factor. The sequences
being developed in these laboratories could be very dangerous to people around the world if they
are in the hands of people who intend to use them in dangerous... Show more content on

The scientists can build organisms to consume toxic chemicals in water or soil that would not
otherwise decompose. The positive aspects of this synthetic engineering are growing every day.
The United States is just getting its first glimpse of everything these scientists are working to
develop (pbs.org). While there are a great amount of advantages to the developments of
biological synthetic engineering, the disadvantages are a pressing matter as well. As biological
engineering develops, the sequences with which the scientists work are becoming more
complex(pbs.org). The sequences are still simple enough, however, to be followed by just about
anyone who knows things about science. Therefore if they are given to people who are not meant
to obtain them they can be used to create very dangerous objects. The federal government has
spoken about the possibility of bioterrorist attacks and the spreading of diseases that have been
contained but do not actively have cures, such as the bird flu and smallpox. Because of the many
possible uses of the advancement of biological engineering, it continues to be approached with
much caution, for the safety of the American people(pbs.org). Although the work in the labs are
performed with what are called Biosafety Level 1 organisms the safest organisms known, the
federal government has been keeping closely involved with the developments of synthetic
engineering (pbs.org). The FBI is ensuring

Explain Why Did Horace Greeley Want More Young People To...
Horace Greeley sole reason for his quote Go west, young man go west, was to get more young
people to not only travel to the west but stay and make a better life for themselves. It says that
the western part of the United States had a lot more opportunities for employment and a lot more
opportunities to change your social status. The reasons why I believe Horace wanted more young
people to travel west were to be given the opportunity to find employment and take better care of
their families. The farmland in the west was more fertile and could create more opportunities for
farmers to grow and sale their produce, which could contribute to the economy. Also in 1851 the
railroads were beginning to expand which made way for more trade and more organizations to
trade their supplies all over the country instead of just within one state. Another reason Horace
Greeleywanted more young people to travel west was because sometimes young people stay in
one place for the rest of their life, and many times their hometowns may not have a lot of
opportunities to offer them, so that leaves those young people poor and with no jobs. If these
young people were able to travel west then... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

these young people were able to travel west then that could create a better situation for not only
themselves but for the economy. If there are more people working then that could create more jobs
in the future. The Homestead Act played a major part in white Americans migrating to the west also
because it promised individuals that stayed public land. The Homestead Act gave those people in
poverty in the bigger cities the opportunity to change their social class by farming if they migrated

has since declined. According to Chauhan, Buckley, and Harvey (2013), Myspace was the first
widely recognized social networking site and currently has approximately 25 million users. The
authors explain Myspace s decline as being attributed to lack of innovation and particular focus

the informality of the content, unless one was recruiting for the entertainment business then it

Summary Of Hugo Chavez s The Bolivarian Republic Of Venezuela
Hugo Chavez called his government The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. After me! That is
hilarious, because I utterly disagree with his beliefs, his government, and what he is trying to do.
I was the liberator of South America, I wanted social justice, I wanted everyone, every class, to be
equal and have equal opportunities. Chavez shares none of these ideals. He attempts to help the
poor, but in reality he hurts them.
For example, Chavez imposed price controls on basic necessities, to help the lower class afford
food, but this action had an adverse effect. Because manufacturers couldn t make a profit, they
stopped selling their goods, and food shortages became rampant! In short, even though Chavez tries
to help the lower class, he ends up hurting them, against my beliefs, because I believe in helping the
entire population.
As these food shortages go on, one of the saddest ramifications of it is malnutrition in children.
Children are starving to death as their parents look on, because they cannot afford food. And what
is the government doing? Nothing! President NicolГЎs Maduro has acknowledged that people are
hungry in Venezuela, but he has refused to accept international aid (Kohut Herrera). That is not
just. A leader should do what is right for his people, not what is good for his ego! Maduro s
country is starving, and he can t fix it, yet he refuses help because he blames other countries for his
problems.
I think Maduro is a horrible leader, just because he is not

The Pros And Cons Of Flag Burning
On August 22, 1984, Gregory Lee Johnson was arrested for setting the U.S. flag on fire. His simple
act of protest led to the Supreme Court ruling that flag burning is protected under the First
Amendment as free speech, thus overturning his conviction. The flag symbolizes freedom, and part
of that freedom is being able to express dissatisfaction with the government. However, some see
flag burning not merely as a demonstration of opinion, but as an attack on national unity and
American values. Should it be illegal to burn the U.S. flag as an form of protest, or is this method
within the rights of American citizens? Johnson set the stars and stripes ablaze at the 1984
Republican National Convention after participating in a protest march against... Show more content

Concerning the outcome of Texas v. Johnson, Justice William Brennan delivered the opinion of
the court: If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that government
may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive
or disagreeable. Flag burning may be offensive to loyal Americans, but it is not threatening
enough by itself to justify punishment. Brennan also stated that we do not consecrate the flag by
punishing its desecration, for in so doing we dilute the the freedom that this cherished emblem
represents. In Johnson s case, the Supreme Court valued constitutional principles rather than
patriotic preferences. The Supreme Court s stance on flag burning has remained the same since.
Nevertheless, thirty years after United States v. Eichman, there is still controversy over whether
or not it should be legal. A recent example of the present discussion on flag burning is a tweet
made by President Donald Trump in 2016: Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag
if they do, there must be consequences perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail! However,
without a reason to change the law besides personal opinion, the Supreme Court is not likely to
reverse their decision and make flag burning

The Tunnel And What You Pawn I Will Redeem
The main characters in the stories Through the Tunnel and What You Pawn I Will Redeem both
have their mind set on determination. In the story Through the Tunnel, Jerry, the young English
boy, sees a group of boys diving and calls them men and wants to be like them. The tunnel they
swim through is the symbolin the story used to describe his transition to manhood. In What You
Pawn I Will Redeem, Jackson found his grandmother s stolen regalia that had one yellow bead
sewed on it that represented a flaw. The yellow bead is the symbol in this story representing
Jackson as a flaw in life. He was determined to get the regalia back to feel like he is part of his
culture and to make them proud. Doris Lessing, the author of Through the Tunnel, and Sherman
Alexie, the author of What You Pawn I Will Redeem, both have symbols that encourage the main
characters to achieve their goal.
The story Through the Tunnel is about a young boy named Jerry and his mother going on vacation
to a beach resort that they have previously visited. The villa they are staying at consist of two
beaches. The safe, crowded beach is where Jerry s mother goes and the wild Rocky Bay is where
Jerry ends up spending most of his time. While Jerry swims in the water at the wild bay, he sees

  • 12. The Ability Of Overcome Degenerative Policy Making Is... The ability to overcome degenerative policy making is through policy analysis which deconstructs policy designs in order to expose degenerative characteristics and deceptions (Schneider Ingram 1997). Public policy needs to be inclusive and should provide a clear vision of possibilities, explanations of how and why antidemocratic elements are embedded in policydesigns, and interpretations of how designs impact democratic life (Schneider Ingram 1997, 207). According to Stone (2011), knowledge tools reduce the need for coercive action or force because in the rational model, information will resolve conflict between actual behavior and desired behavior. Providing knowledge or educating make it unnecessary to incentivize or sanction the target in order to elicit the desired behavior. Instead, lack of information or capacity is the primary barrier, and once the appropriate information is relayed to the target, the desired behavior will follow (Schneider Ingram, 1997; Stone, 2011). However, people use a variety of strategies to help their interests and political goals. Critics of rational choice theory contend that people act largely according to prior attitudes and beliefs rather than new information (Stone, 2011, p. 314). Introduction In the present world, the Access Control System is used in all the places where it is intended that a system should allow the authorized persons to get in or leave the facilities as and when required and also to keep a record about these movements. Basically it determines who is allowed to enter or exit; similarly allowed to exit or enter even with the time when they are allowed to enter or exit. In the past, the same job could have been partially done by locks and keys. But there were number of limitations of the mechanical locks keys. Firstly, it did not provide any restriction to the key holders to specific times dates. Secondly, it did not provide any records of the key used to a specific door. Thirdly, the keys can be easily copied or transferred to the unauthorized person. Finally, when the key is lost, the authorized person losses his access to the protected areas and the locks must be re keyed. Electronic Access Control System has come forward to solve the problems of mechanical locks keys. The system uses a computer network where a wide range of credentials or identifications are used to replace those mechanical keys. In the system, when the credentials are provided then the access is granted; the door is unlocked for a predetermined time and the transaction is recorded. Again, when the access is denied, the door remains locked and the attempted access are also recorded. The system can also monitor the door and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Long takes and shots of Kane walking in large rooms also seem to defy then conventional wisdom to have many shorter takes instead focusing on several elements for long periods of time (Lewis, Smoodin 112). When I was with him when he went to his next car show event that was going on he told me many things about these certain cars from back in the day that has been shown that was very cool to me. • 26. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. s Heading The Call Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader well known for his bravery wanted equality between people of all races. In the passage Heading the Call , Diana Childress writes about his experiences when he was young. These experiences shaped his beliefs and actions as an adult. King learned about racial inequality when two sons of a white neighborhood storekeeper stopped playing with him. Whether the father of the two didn t want them to play with him or the two boys were influenced by the events around them is not known. Either way King knew this was wrong. His mother was never too subtle when she explained racial discrimination, but always reminded him that he was as good as anyone . King also experienced a similar problem when he was in high school. After winning first prize in a speech contest, he represented his school at a statewide competition. As he returned home to Atlanta he and his teacher were forced to give up their seats to white passengers and remained seat less for 90 miles. King said he had never been so angry in his life. • 27. History Of San Francisco Bay 2.BACKGROUND The San Francisco bay was one of the best natural harbours in the world and it was also the gateway to the Pacific Ocean. (Loomis, 1958) This fact meant that its bay would become a leading trade centre. A rush of people were attracted to San Francisco because of its port, the natural beauty and the gold rush, where thousands of people were brought in by ship. This lead to a shortage in water in all areas and transportation services had to be improved to provide enough water to all places. A ferry service was started that crossed the river from San Francisco to Sacramento to carry heavy equipment and people to the gold fields in the time of the gold rush and just thereafter. Synthetic Biological Engineering Essay Starting at the earliest of high school levels, students are being taught about biological synthetic engineering, or being able to create life out of chemicals of varying types. The idea of being able to create life from just about nothing is something that is becoming popular. While it has its advantages for scientific purposes as far as medicine is concerned, the fact that the FBI has to be involved to make sure that the sequences are not being distributed for unlawful purposes, such as bioterrorism overseas or throughout the United States is a troublesome factor. The positive aspects of this synthetic engineering are growing every day. The United States is just getting its first glimpse of everything these scientists are working to develop (pbs.org). While there are a great amount of advantages to the developments of biological synthetic engineering, the disadvantages are a pressing matter as well. As biological engineering develops, the sequences with which the scientists work are becoming more complex(pbs.org). The sequences are still simple enough, however, to be followed by just about anyone who knows things about science. Therefore if they are given to people who are not meant to obtain them they can be used to create very dangerous objects. The federal government has spoken about the possibility of bioterrorist attacks and the spreading of diseases that have been contained but do not actively have cures, such as the bird flu and smallpox. Because of the many possible uses of the advancement of biological engineering, it continues to be approached with much caution, for the safety of the American people(pbs.org). • 30. Explain Why Did Horace Greeley Want More Young People To... Horace Greeley sole reason for his quote Go west, young man go west, was to get more young people to not only travel to the west but stay and make a better life for themselves. It says that the western part of the United States had a lot more opportunities for employment and a lot more opportunities to change your social status. The reasons why I believe Horace wanted more young people to travel west were to be given the opportunity to find employment and take better care of their families. The farmland in the west was more fertile and could create more opportunities for farmers to grow and sale their produce, which could contribute to the economy. Also in 1851 the railroads were beginning to expand which made way for more trade and more organizations to trade their supplies all over the country instead of just within one state. Another reason Horace Greeleywanted more young people to travel west was because sometimes young people stay in one place for the rest of their life, and many times their hometowns may not have a lot of opportunities to offer them, so that leaves those young people poor and with no jobs. • 33. Summary Of Hugo Chavez s The Bolivarian Republic Of Venezuela Hugo Chavez called his government The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. After me! That is hilarious, because I utterly disagree with his beliefs, his government, and what he is trying to do. I was the liberator of South America, I wanted social justice, I wanted everyone, every class, to be equal and have equal opportunities. Chavez shares none of these ideals. He attempts to help the poor, but in reality he hurts them. For example, Chavez imposed price controls on basic necessities, to help the lower class afford food, but this action had an adverse effect. Because manufacturers couldn t make a profit, they stopped selling their goods, and food shortages became rampant! In short, even though Chavez tries to help the lower class, he ends up hurting them, against my beliefs, because I believe in helping the entire population. As these food shortages go on, one of the saddest ramifications of it is malnutrition in children. Children are starving to death as their parents look on, because they cannot afford food. And what is the government doing? Nothing! President NicolГЎs Maduro has acknowledged that people are hungry in Venezuela, but he has refused to accept international aid (Kohut Herrera). That is not just. A leader should do what is right for his people, not what is good for his ego! • 36. The Pros And Cons Of Flag Burning On August 22, 1984, Gregory Lee Johnson was arrested for setting the U.S. flag on fire. His simple act of protest led to the Supreme Court ruling that flag burning is protected under the First Amendment as free speech, thus overturning his conviction. The flag symbolizes freedom, and part of that freedom is being able to express dissatisfaction with the government. However, some see flag burning not merely as a demonstration of opinion, but as an attack on national unity and American values. Should it be illegal to burn the U.S. flag as an form of protest, or is this method within the rights of American citizens? Johnson set the stars and stripes ablaze at the 1984 Republican National Convention after participating in a protest march against... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Concerning the outcome of Texas v. Johnson, Justice William Brennan delivered the opinion of the court: If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable. Flag burning may be offensive to loyal Americans, but it is not threatening enough by itself to justify punishment. Brennan also stated that we do not consecrate the flag by punishing its desecration, for in so doing we dilute the the freedom that this cherished emblem represents. In Johnson s case, the Supreme Court valued constitutional principles rather than patriotic preferences. The Supreme Court s stance on flag burning has remained the same since. Nevertheless, thirty years after United States v. Eichman, there is still controversy over whether or not it should be legal. A recent example of the present discussion on flag burning is a tweet made by President Donald Trump in 2016: Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag if they do, there must be consequences perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!
