  1. A key component of serving up the best results possible is fighting web spam. Now due to Google being the largest economy in the world… there are a lot of people trying to play in that ….. which means that they have to deal with fighting a lot of spam.
  2. On-Page SEO Factors It doesn't matter if you have the most beautiful website with an amazing user experience if people can't find it. It's like putting your best salesperson ever out in the middle of the desert with no one around.
  3. Title Tag, Meta Description & Meta Keywords Your Title Tag is a key aspect for SEO. It’s important to use appropriate keywords here that a user might search for… but do not stuff or overuse them. The length of your title tag should generally below 70 characters, but not all of your title tag may display in the search results. Google often truncates the title and they just change their layout so that it truncates it even more. Just a few weeks ago Google changed their layout which makes it so that they show around 55-65 characters depending on if the keywords are bolded, capitalized, etc. Your Meta Description while it doesn’t affect SEO from a rankings standpoint it is very important to motivate the user to take action. Keywords that are related to the search query are Bolded in both the title tag and Meta description which can help catch the eye of the person searching. It’s also important to make sure that each one of your pages has a unique descriptive title & meta description. Meta Keywords. are no longer used by any of the major search engines and it is recommended to not use them at all.
  4. URL Structure The url of a web page is another heavily weighted factor for SEO. A well structured url uses descriptive terms and is short and to the point. Long urls with strange url parameters like in the example here make it hard for search engines to decipher the meaning of the page. Not to mention can you imagine if a user saw that url and needed to type it in somewhere or even worse remember it. Not going to happen. Appropriate keyword usage in your urls is vital as well. This url would be much better structured like this. The url structure of your site is a heavily weighted factor by the search engines. The urls tell the search engine what your page is about. Having the urls simple and descriptive are not only better for users, but search engines prefer them as well. In the example here you can see that the CMS that this site is using is creating horribly long and confusing urls. Imagine a user trying to type that in.
