An Overview of DTC
 DTC was formed in 1948 (earlier name was Delhi
Transport Service).
 DTC came under GNCTD in Aug, 1996. All past liabilities
were written off (Rs 2123 Cr).
 The main function is to provide comfortable, economic,
safe and reliable public transport.
 It has a fleet of 4344 buses against the sanctioned fleet
of 5500 buses.
 It has 3781 LF buses (2506 Non-AC+1275 AC) and 563
Std. Floor Buses.
 It has 43 Depots for parking and maintaining the buses.
 DTC has around 30911 employees on its Rolls.

Brief Technical Data of Electric
Bus.
 An Electric Bus was provided by M/s Modipur Devices Pvt. Ltd.
From BYD (Built Your Dreams) Auto Industry Co., China for
trial in DTC from 10th March to 20th June, 2016.
 Registration No. of Bus In India : GJ01 DZ 039
 Make : BYD (K-9), China
 Power to run the bus-Fe Battery (Lithium Ion Phosphate) of
324 Kwh capacity with a life of above 4000 cycles.
 Charger of the battery- 3 Phase AC Charging, 380 V/400V,
126A, 80KW (60Kw for 5 Hrs.) wall mounted.
 Suspension : Air suspension.
 Brake : Front and Rear Disc Brake with ABS.
 Tyre Size : 275/70 R22.5

 Driving Motor : AC Synchronous Motor of 180 kw Delivering a
Torque of 700 Nm.
 Top speed of the bus : 70 Km/hr.
 Bus size (Length *Width * Height in mm) :
12000*2500*3250.
 Zero emission bus with silent running.
 Fully Air Conditioned.
 Fitted with CCTV Cameras with Panic Buttons.
 Differently Abled/Elderly friendly.
 Low Maintenance/Repair cost as it has no Engine,
Transmission etc.
 The Driving Motors are controlled with Electronic Control
Technology.
 250+Kms. Operation in a single charge.

Benefits of Electric Bus
 Safety: This electric bus is fitted with a fire safe battery.
It will not explode when exposed to direct flames.
 Saving: Its energy consumption amounts to 1.3 KWh/KM,
estimated at Rs.12.06/KM. It has fewer components
replacement then Diesel/CNG bus. It has less
maintenance cost compared to CNG/Diesel bus.
 Eco-Impact : It has ZERO emission, Quite, Battery re-
purpose able for utility energy storage after recycled from
electric vehicles.

 Longevity : After 15 years o use, the battery
capacity is projected to remain about 70%. No
need for battery replacement.
 Longest Rate : It gives leading driving range of
250+ Kilometers per charge.
 Seating Capacity: The bus has the sitting capacity
of 31 seats.
