Title: 21st Century Communities for 21st Century Citizens
As Bloomington-Normal and McLean County gear up to redefine our economy, we must recognise the drastic effects of technology on the future of our cities. And the future is now. Technology integration is especially challenging as it is ever evolving and impacting a wide array of services and infrastructure. More than ever before, many different organizations - public and private - will need to come together to help transform our cities to 21st century communities.
During the keynote, you will hear about how Kansas City, Missouri is collaborating with community, business, academic and technology stakeholders to integrate ever evolving technologies to create an open government and improve citizen services and engagement.
This years topic speaks to the core of BN Advantage - collaborative economic development efforts to create a vibrant and sustainable regional economy in Bloomington-Normal and McLean County.

Improving the efficiency of aircraft turnaroundAppear
Implementing innovative app toolkit for airport workers that improve aircraft turnaround. Airport IQ will develop a mobile information sharing system connecting back-end A-CDM systems with mobile devices (smartphones, tablets and other wearable devices) carried by ground staff. The system will provide the right information at the right place and time to the right people, making it easier for planners to make optimal use of resources.
We are looking for potential partners to participate in the project whether they are Airports, Ground Handlers, Airlines, System providers and other commercial entities. If you would like to know more, then get in touch
Digital Innovation and the End-to-End Passenger ExperienceAirlineTrends
As passengers are getting more connected, their expectations are rising towards airlines to remove the inconveniences of air travel and do much more than just fly them from A to B.
Mobile technology has already had a significant impact on the passenger journey and while many digital innovations – think United Airlines and Uber, easyJet’s ‘Mobile Host’, Transavia’s ‘pre-flight entertainment’, and Singapore Airlines’ upcoming Companion app – offer convenient services, these tend to be focused on a specific area rather than align the whole journey.
Meanwhile, airlines are looking to increase margins by introducing ancillary services and are beginning to take a holistic look at the customer journey, and provide empowered passengers – who want to be in control of their journey – with a personalised and stress-free end-to-end travel experience.
In this presentation, recent airline initiatives will illustrate how digital devices, connectivity, data, service design and merchandising skills are coming together to provide a ‘passenger-centric’ door-to-door experience.
Keolis, a major player in digital mobility, has announced at the 2017 Netexplo Forum the results of its first international digital mobility observatory.
The observatory targeted 13 smart cities across five continents, to better understand the impact of the digital revolution on the use of public transport.
Three common expectations and 10 fundamentals for the passenger experience of tomorrow have emerged from the studies.
This research illustrates Keolis’ proximity with cities, its commitment to enhance the passenger experience, and to create the smart transport networks of tomorrow.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.
