The document proposes an image enhancement technique to aid the visually impaired. It aims to first apply various algorithms like zooming and contrast adjustment to individual images using OpenCV, then extend this approach to videos by generating images from video frames and applying the image processing technique. While initial results on images showed improvement, applying it to videos in real-time proved challenging as video clarity was not achieved and the process time could not be reduced sufficiently. Future work focuses on developing a low-cost Android application that can interface with a camera and perform real-time video enhancement.

• To design an approach which aids to the visual
impairments .
• Application of the developed technique is firstly
applied on to the images and then extend the idea of
the images on the videos and try to run and process
it real time.

3. Introduction
• The image enhancement technique is to process an
image so that the result is more suitable than the
original image for a specific application.
• why do we need ?
Given input low quality image we can produce an
high quality image for a specific application.

• Visual disability is one of the last longing problems
these days that you find in major number of people.
• Even though there are more advanced techniques
available in the market, they are not accessible to
common man because they are not cost effective.

• An program is written in open cv which consists of
different algorithms which are required for our
specific application.
like zooming, polarity, contrast etc..,
• Firstly, this is applied on a particular image and the
results are shown as follows.

videos.
Depending on the properties of the video and the
number of pixels involved and frames per second,
we generate the images.
Apply the the technique of the images on the images
generated from the video and append them
collectively.

8. Expected results
• Unlike the images we couldn't generate the results
particularly the same way for videos.
• Clear distinguishing of the results can’t be shown in
case of videos as the video clarity is not reached
and the approach used is not that appropriate.

9. Future Focus
• A fully developed android application which is
available to the common man at reasonable cost.
• Able to run it real time and interface it with a
camera.
• Reduce the process time in the case of videos.
• Clear differentiability of the videos in terms of their
specifications.
