Here is a summary of the key points from the two articles in 2 paragraphs:
The Kassin and Kiechel article discusses the social psychology of false confessions. It explores how interrogation techniques can cause innocent suspects to confess through compliance, internalization, or confabulation. Compliance occurs when a suspect confesses just to end an aversive interrogation. Internalization happens when suspects come to doubt themselves and perceive themselves as guilty. Confabulation means suspects construct and confess to entire false narratives that reconcile their crime with their memories. These false confessions are problematic as they can wrongly convict innocent people and undermine the criminal justice system.
The Eberhardt, Davies, Purdie-Vaughns, and Johnson article examines

Aging Latinos in Action - ALA
CCCIL is committed to developing the staff and community leadership necessary to ensure that our local aging Latino population can lead the most independent and healthy lives possible. CCCIL’s ALA initiative rests on the premise that a community rooted in a culture of independent living and health requires outreach, education, engagement, action and reflection.
ALA directly addresses CCCIL’s priority areas including 1) Developing an engaged constituency of community leaders with disabilities to act on local issues that will build and maintain a healthy, vibrant and independent community; and 2) Addressing the needs of the rapidly increasing aging population as it naturally increases in needs for disability services These two priorities are intimately interwoven as the cultural needs of specific populations including Latinos and aging adults pose unique opportunities and challenges as our nation re-invents how we look at access to care and health. Further, as disabilities are a natural part of the aging process, CCCIL is uniquely qualified to develop leadership in this area.
With investment from the UU Fund for a Just Society, CCCIL will have the opportunity to focus on the outreach, education and action that will both serve and organize a larger constituency of Monterey County’s aging Latino adults.
With the UU investment, the ALA initiative will continue its 8 month pilot project into a second year and focus on:

THIS WEEK’S WORK IS TWO DISCUSSIONS. Week 6: Social Change and Professional Development
The characteristics of program design and evaluationare intended to provide some level of recommended change or action as a result of the systematic investigation into a program’s effectiveness. Evaluation can provide answers to questions about a program that may be useful in adjusting a program to become more effective. Because evaluation results in insight about the effectiveness of a program for a specific population, evaluation can be used to implement social change or action. Evaluation findings may assist stakeholders (those who hold an interest) or decision makers in go/no-go decisions about specific program modifications or initiate the continuation or demise of the entire program. Today, social policy and public administrative movement are closely associated with social program outcomes and effective evaluations.
This week, you present your design for a program addressing the needs of the homeless population in your community and analyze how your program may effect social change. You also evaluate your potential to impact areas of human services delivery and assess the benefits of participating in professional human services organizations.
Objectives
By the end of this week, you should be able to:
· Analyze how human services program design and evaluation influence social change
· Evaluate personal impact on areas of human services delivery
· Analyze how professional organizations contribute to professional development

This document provides instructions for a major assignment to design a humanitarian assistance project that would be implemented over 12 weeks in the local community. The project must be divided into two 6-week phases, with specific goals and assessments for each phase. A written proposal in Microsoft Word is required, answering questions about the target group, assistance provided, project management, timelines, evaluations, ethics considerations, and reflections. The proposal should be 2,000-4,000 words with a separate section for each element. The goal is to demonstrate a thoroughly planned project that could realistically help people in need.
This document provides instructions for a collaborative learning community assignment to create an organizational plan and operational plan for a capstone project. For the organizational plan, students must describe the management team and their skills, outline a McKinsey 7-S assessment, and explain the business and corporate strategies. For the operational plan, students need to describe the supply chain, identify partners and suppliers, explain how operational effectiveness will be optimized, and discuss primary and support activities from a value chain perspective. Both plans require at least 500 words and following APA guidelines.
This document provides an overview of course materials and assignments for HRM 531, including summaries of weekly topics, individual assignments, discussion questions, and a team project plan. Some of the key topics covered include employment strategy, organizational restructuring, compensation plans, workforce planning, performance reviews, and labor relations. The individual assignments involve analyzing employment laws, assessing how organizations ensure compliance, developing communications plans for changes, and evaluating the impact of changes on human resource functions. The team project plan asks students to define project goals, tasks, timelines and member responsibilities to lay the foundation for a collaborative team project.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
