The Harvard University Parents Fund, a fundraising organization that Bruce Furst is active in supporting, raises contributions to enhance various elements of Harvard undergraduate life on campus. Although Harvard freely concedes that parents make an outstanding contribution to the academic life of undergraduate students through the payment of tuition, it is also recognized that tuition does not cover a number of other miscellaneous costs. For example, social activities and participation in the arts or athletics, among many other extracurricular programs, require more than tuition fees cover. It is for this reason that the Harvard University Parents Fund was created.
