2. Bruce Furst serves as the president of Ashber
Corporation, a media licensing business that provides
music content for film productions and negotiates
agreements for film soundtracks. Bruce Furst
established his company in Austin, Texas, the host
city of the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Music
Festival. One of the largest musical events of the
year, the 2015 SXSW Music Festival is scheduled to
begin on March 17 and run through March 22.
The highly anticipated festival will feature a vast
assortment of musical guests and performances in
clubs, parks, bars, churches, and other community
venues throughout downtown Austin.
3. Attendees may partake in numerous musical and
creative activities consisting of music and artist
showcases, parties, exhibitions, and special
events. Special events for 2015 include a
barbeque and softball tournament and an
intangible asset protection panel for artists. The
Austin Convention Center will also provide a
lounge exclusively for SXSW showcasing artists to
take breaks and meet one another.
While the SXSW Music Festival allows attending
artists to apply for a showcase performance slot
at the festival, applications for the 2015 event
closed in October 2014.
4. However, registration for normal attendee
badges is still open. Attending the SXSW
Music Festival requires purchasing a platinum
or music badge, which may be purchased at a
walkup rate of $1,745 and $895, respectively.
