This document discusses methods for simulating bacterial growth on brownfield sites to aid in revegetation efforts. It describes taking soil samples from various points on an industrial site and growing bacteria from those samples in a gelatin simulation over 30 days at 25 degrees Celsius. This small-scale simulation allows for an accelerated view of how bacteria and potential plant growth might occur on the brownfield, identifying remediation needs to support amendment and safe reuse of the land. The simulation provides time intervals for bacterial multiplication at different scales to optimize brownfield revegetation strategies.
