History:
5 years old girl
Preterm one of twins (7 months) at
KFSH.
Stayed in INCU 1 month.
No other medical/ ocular problems
No family history of strabismus.
Mother first noticed the problem at
the age of two.
Investigations:
VAsc 20/ 40 20/40+2
Anterior segment of both eyes: WNL
Retina & optic disc of both eyes: Normal
Cycloplegic retinoscopy:
+5.50 – 1.50 x 170
+6.25 – 2.25 x 10

OD inferior oblique & superior rectus limitation
OS Full
Slight chin elevation and head tilt to the left.
No pattern.
Diagnosis:
Brown syndrome- congenital (OD)
with hyperopic astigmatism (OU).
Management:
PMT results of:
+3.00 -1.50 x 170 20/25
+3.00 – 2.00 x 10 20/25
Were prescribed.
