About MBA in DMS
The 2 year (4 semesters) full-time master’s degree program in Business administration prepares
students for a successful professional career in management. While the first year is devoted to
foundational course, the second year would enable the student to gain in-depth knowledge of the
specialization of their chosen fields.

The course structure of the MBA program comprises of core and elective papers. The core
papers equip the students with conceptual knowledge in the basic areas of management. The elective
papers help the students to enhance their application oriented skills in the chosen functional areas of
management such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Systems and Operation, Other subjects
of comprehensive cross functional nature such as in-house training in industrial organizations through
various project requirements, project reports, and factory visits are also the part of the curriculum.

The evaluation of the students is on the basis of their performance in assignments, participation
in departmental activities, projects, tests, class presentations, quizzes, case-studies, role plays, and end
semester examinations.

The curriculum is supplemented with guest lectures by prominent guest faculty from top-notch
private and public organizations and updates through interactions with industry and other reputed
institutions.

The salient features of the curriculum design are that the students can choose market driven
functional and sectorial electives. This helps them to cater their competency mapping so as to increase
their career options and strengthen their inter and intra specialization perspectives.

On the basis of suggestions from industry, and student’s requests new electives are also
introduced periodically through a regular update of market trends to orient their attitude, knowledge
and skill sets through interactive learning process and participatory opportunities.

Living in Pondicherry
A Pleasing Location

The Pondicherry University campus is 12kms from the city Pondicherry, one of the best tourism spots
in south India, easily accessible from Chennai (160 Kms) and Bangalore (350 Kms). It is known calm and
serene ambiance. One can experience loveliness of nature along with exotic beach, museums, and delectable
French cuisines.

On the shores of Bay of Bengal you’ll find French monuments restyled into official headquarters of the
city. It is a former French colony, consisting of four non-contiguous enclaves, or districts, and named for the
largest, Pondicherry. It is also known as The French Riviera of the East.

The City, Pondicherry is large enough to be interesting, yet small enough to avoid the problems of
major cities. There are plenty of cultural activities and many fine restaurants, shops and hotels. You also have
access to a full range of sports facilities in and around the city either university campuses or the beach and in
the Auroville, which are virtually on the doorstep.

Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right
paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in
their own hands.

  • 10. About MBA in DMS The 2 year (4 semesters) full-time master’s degree program in Business administration prepares students for a successful professional career in management. While the first year is devoted to foundational course, the second year would enable the student to gain in-depth knowledge of the specialization of their chosen fields. The course structure of the MBA program comprises of core and elective papers. The core papers equip the students with conceptual knowledge in the basic areas of management. The elective papers help the students to enhance their application oriented skills in the chosen functional areas of management such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Systems and Operation, Other subjects of comprehensive cross functional nature such as in-house training in industrial organizations through various project requirements, project reports, and factory visits are also the part of the curriculum. The evaluation of the students is on the basis of their performance in assignments, participation in departmental activities, projects, tests, class presentations, quizzes, case-studies, role plays, and end semester examinations. The curriculum is supplemented with guest lectures by prominent guest faculty from top-notch private and public organizations and updates through interactions with industry and other reputed institutions. The salient features of the curriculum design are that the students can choose market driven functional and sectorial electives. This helps them to cater their competency mapping so as to increase their career options and strengthen their inter and intra specialization perspectives. On the basis of suggestions from industry, and student’s requests new electives are also introduced periodically through a regular update of market trends to orient their attitude, knowledge and skill sets through interactive learning process and participatory opportunities.
