All the training packages were conducted in PSTHM where the main target groups were out-of-school youths, Women, Dalit, Adivasi janjatis, Disadvantaged and marginalized people from rural areas of Nepal.
As a leading hospitality and tourism school within the Council for Technical and Vocational Training (CTEVT) network of schools, Pokhara Technical School is dedicated to producing skilled human resources for the fast-growing tourism market in Nepal. This tracer study was commissioned to evaluate the employment outcomes of graduates and make recommendations on improving the quality of training provided by the school. Specifically, this tracer study is focused on the seven batches of trainees who completed short-term training in Food and Beverage Service in the period from 2015 to 2018. Abstract
Technical and vocational Education and Training TVET has important role in imparting skills training for employment, self employment and enterprises. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the Practice of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) in selected government run five Technical and Vocational Education and Training Colleges in Addis Ababa city administration exploring the existing and emerging challenges in the areas of self-generated financial sustainability and utilization of this generated income. In view of this, the basic questions of the study are formulated and descriptive survey method will be employed to assess the current condition and overall performance of IGAs. The study will be undertaken in Addis Ababa TVET Colleges involving a non-random sampling technique preferred to be appropriate and to serve the desired ends in the study. The sample population will include department heads, deans of the colleges and Addis Ababa TVET Agency officers. The data collecting instrument will include questioner which consist of little open ended questioner ended and more on close-ended question, structured interview questions document analysis and observation; the data will be analyzed and using descriptive statistical method.

Purpose:Technical education in India contributes a major share to the overall education system and plays a
vital role in the social and economic development of the nation. Despite of rapid growth of technical
education in last decade in terms of the no. of institutes and intake capacity in India, institutes failed to
attract enrollments. Last three years saw, increasing gap in between the actual no. of enrollments and intake
capacity; 46% of seats were vacant in Technical Education in India in 2015. The purpose of this paper is to
highlight institute’s role in promoting enrollments in Technical education.
Design methodology: A qualitative research by a survey (through a structured questionnaire) of students
who are presently enrolled (Current-students) and those who have completed their study (Alumni) belonging
to the institutes offering Technical Education situated in Khandesh region of India and affiliated to the
North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
Findings: The study found that diversified characteristics of enrollments are related with the promotion mix
of TE institute in selection of technical educational institute. This study investigates the usefulness of school
visits, institution publications, websites, campus visits, word-of-mouth (friends, alumni, school teachers),
advertisements (radio, television, magazines) and events on campus, as a tool of promotion. Social
Networking and Institute’s Website are the new forms of promotion mix in selection TE institute in rural
part of India.
Research limitations: The survey is delimited to the enrollments of technical education belonging to North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and located in Khandesh region of India.
Practical implications
60-70% of population belongs to rural part of India. Different promotional strategies of promotion mix can
be used based on geographic and demographic segmentation. This will enhance, making awareness,
fondness regarding Technical Education in the rural part and will act as lubricant in decision making of
selecting their technical educational institute.

Purpose:Technical education in India contributes a major share to the overall education system and plays a
vital role in the social and economic development of the nation. Despite of rapid growth of technical
education in last decade in terms of the no. of institutes and intake capacity in India, institutes failed to
attract enrollments. Last three years saw, increasing gap in between the actual no. of enrollments and intake
capacity; 46% of seats were vacant in Technical Education in India in 2015. The purpose of this paper is to
highlight institute’s role in promoting enrollments in Technical education.
Design methodology: A qualitative research by a survey (through a structured questionnaire) of students
who are presently enrolled (Current-students) and those who have completed their study (Alumni) belonging
to the institutes offering Technical Education situated in Khandesh region of India and affiliated to the
North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
Findings: The study found that diversified characteristics of enrollments are related with the promotion mix
of TE institute in selection of technical educational institute. This study investigates the usefulness of school
visits, institution publications, websites, campus visits, word-of-mouth (friends, alumni, school teachers),
advertisements (radio, television, magazines) and events on campus, as a tool of promotion. Social
Networking and Institute’s Website are the new forms of promotion mix in selection TE institute in rural
part of India.
Research limitations: The survey is delimited to the enrollments of technical education belonging to North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and located in Khandesh region of India.
Practical implications
60-70% of population belongs to rural part of India. Different promotional strategies of promotion mix can
be used based on geographic and demographic segmentation. This will enhance, making awareness,
fondness regarding Technical Education in the rural part and will act as lubricant in decision making of
selecting their technical educational institute.

As we are studying about the cultural and competitive advantage higher education institution.
So the target populations for this study are the students and the teacher of different
universities in Punjab.
5.2 Sampling Technique
To conduct this study and to collect data, samples of Colleges are selected on the basis of
Convenient sampling technique. As time is limited so we decided to select any of the
university where we can get the required respondents and which are nearby.
Sample Size
For this study, we have selected 395 samples from data is collected using standard
questionnaire. Sample size is decided by Sample size calculator from
www.rasoft.com/samplesize, wherethe Margin of error we can accept is taken 5%,
Confidence level Taken is 95%, Population size was taken 140636, which taken by reference
www.ugc.ac.in/stateuniversity.aspx by totaling both Student and Teachers, the data from
UGC site was referenced on 30th march 2017.
5.3 Research design
Type of Research:
Descriptive design is be used for conducting this study. This study will help to
understand the culture and its impact on competitive advantage of higher education
institutes.
Data Collection
For the study the collection of primary data is done using questionnaire.
Survey
We have used questionnaire as a tool for collecting primary data. There were two
separate questionnaire for Teachers and Student, to collect the data which includes 25
questions for Students and 27 for Teachers. In this questionnaire we have included 6

have very less aware about the culture.

This study focused on understanding of cultural perspective of Students and Teachers regarding
their higher educational institutions. It has been found that there are significant difference in
Cultural Satisfaction of Students and teachers with respect to their Higher Education Institutes. Further
the study highlighted the factors giving competitive advantage to the Higher Education Institutions over
others in the industry are , family, previous school/ College Has given competitive edge to the
institutions. Lastly it was identified that there is positive correlation between Culture and
Competitive Advantage and the Cultural Satisfaction has profound impact upon the competitive
advantage of Higher Education Institutions.
