 Be active! Approach as many people as possible (especially
press and celebrity), but do it nicely and don’t be creepy!

 Always check and submit to Indie Megabooth
 Prepare some challenges and rewards
 Large screen TV for crowd gathering is very important!
 Decorate your booth to attract & impress. It is cheaper to

  • 5. Why Go Global?  Games are borderless and Gamers are universal  Why limit yourself? Why limit your market?  We want to show the world that we can do it!  Successful Indie Game Devs started their journey by exhibiting their games at events such as PAX Goals  Build relationships  Build awareness  Build reputation
  • 6. PAX AUSTRALIA  This is our first experiment  Close to Indonesia, relatively cheaper, less risky. Good place to start

PAX AUS  We contact PAX AUS event organizers  Become part of the PAX Rising International Indies booth. 3x2m booth for AU$2200  Around 30K attendees  Total expenses – AU$ 20,000  Lessons Learnt  Selling merchandise (t-shirts) is not a good idea  Press Kit is very important! Need to actively hunt press!  Contact press ASAP!  Establish relationship with other indies is very important  Build a special demo of your game, max play time 5 minutes
  • 8. PAX EAST BOSTON  One of the biggest PAX, over 100K attendees  Located in Boston, USA. Relatively more expensive  12 hour time difference = jet lag

PAX EAST  Submitted our game to Indie MegaBooth  Got accepted because they have heard of “Infectonator”  Become part of the PAX EAST Indie MegaBooth. 3x3m booth supported by Intel  Around 100K attendees  Total expenses – US$ 9000  Lessons Learnt  Shock and Awe! Bring a Portable Backwall from Indonesia is cheap and awesome!  Need to bring more PressKit!  Do research! Learn the faces and names of famous people!
  • 11. Lessons Learnt  Give your time to rest and adjust  Prepare a Press Kit to impress  Be active! Approach as many people as possible (especially press and celebrity), but do it nicely and don’t be creepy!  Do research! Learn the faces and names of famous people!  Build relationships, be respectful and supportive  Always check and submit to Indie Megabooth  Prepare some challenges and rewards  Large screen TV for crowd gathering is very important!  Decorate your booth to attract & impress. It is cheaper to prepare from Indonesia.
