Bringing learning online
Editor's Notes
We champion the use of digital technologies for innovative teaching and learning. We are a freely available Government funded organisations.
Jisc has many years of experience supporting the Skills sector and offers impartial, targeted advice and guidance in using technology to help your organisation to develop its Teaching, Learning and Assessment, to improve organisational efficiency and performance (helping you “to do more with less”).
We are sector driven and use market intelligence and your feedback to help us develop what we do.
You will have a dedicated account manager with relevant experience in your sector/region, who understands the pressures and challenges you face, and who is supported by a national network of subject matter experts who can offer focused consultancy.
The benefits to you include satisfying your inspection requirements, improved learner success rates, and retention and reduced costs.
Examples of my support and guidance in the past 5 years I have worked at Jisc:
The Hair Academy – ILT strategic development and VLE development.
Swim UK – winners of the South East Technology awards for their use of iPads under water to record swimming techniques. Also support in creating online learning via Padlet.
Campus Training – recognising the cost and time saving of using a conferencing system via a cost analysis.
KATO network– advice and training on using a conferencing tool Webex.
Young Epilepsy – e-safety training, support and advice.
Chiltern Training – support with developing the resources for the Jisc Interactive Learning Resources Project.
The Derbyshire Network – introducing online learning and Jisc to the sub-contractors and supporting the network.
Essex Provider Network – Free Interactive Learning Resources presentation information

FELTAG = Further Education Learning Technology Action Group.
“Where Ofsted identifies a provider as needing improvement Jisc will offer to work with the provider to identify and address any weaknesses where technology can help. In a similar way Jisc will offer to support providers where the FE Commissioner has identified improvement is needed. ”
How we are supporting you with the FELTAG recommendations:

Free software (freeware) is completely free of charge. Free and open source software (FOSS) or free/libre/open source software (FLOSS) is distributed on licences that allow you to use and adapt the source code. In the case of FOSS, free refers to the 'freedom' to use and edit the program, but much of it is also available free of charge.
