 Complete the sequence of DNA of the human
    genome
 There are 35,000 human genes in our genome
 The method at use in this project is called a
    hierarchical shotgun
 There are 7 main steps to the method
 Break down into a code of 150,000 letters
 Each fragment was placed into a bacterial
    artificial chromosome
 The E. coli inside the chromosome would
    replicate each DNA sample
 Special enzymes were used to cut each clone
    into ‘fingerprint’ of fragments
 Combined the clones into a longer strand
 Mapped them onto the human chromosome
 Broke down the cloned fragments into 1000-
    2000 based pairs long
 Generated a sequence of the individual bases
 Shotgun method was used to sequence the
    fragments of human DNA
 Overlaps of the letters of the genetic code were
used to assemble the sequence of DNA
 The first major experiment to map the human
genome is performed on a sheep named Dolly
 Deeper concepts were found in this experiment
 Map out the single gene that causes genetic
    diseases or disorders
 Discoveries in the medical fields
 Cures of diseases
 Costs 3 billion dollars
 High risk in the project
 People will not got a chance to live there lives
    fairly
 DNA is going to determine the opportunities
 Someday will be able to tell the life someone is
going to live by there human genome
