 During the heatwave in the
summer of 1978, Italy was
remembered for its climate.
While the adults spend most
of their time indoors, the
children set off on their bikes
to explore the countryside,
tell scary stories and set each
other dares.
 After I read the summary I
had a good impression of the
book, the title and the cover
also inspired me to read the
book.
 I’m Not Scared is a work of
fiction which can be
classified as a crime fiction
novel. This piece that
includes drama and mystery.

 My impression of Michele
was good. He’s a nine year
old boy. He seems
adventurous and different to
the other children in his age
Michele Amitrano is one of
the main characters and is
nine years old.
 Filippo: A boy in the
same age as Michele
which encounters
Michele in the story.

5. Literary Devices
 The effectively uses tone to
give tell us more about the
plot which is mysterious and
sometimes dramatic.
 The author includes his
point, which makes the story
more interesting because it is
told in different perspectives
which change throughout the
story.
 Two major themes that
emerge throughout the novel
are: the desire to help and
fighting the bad.

 The story is set in the
Summer of 1978 and
Michele was 9 years old. It is
set in a small clump of
houses surrounded by fields
in Italy. It is very dry and the
fields are full of corn.
 He uses alliteration to
emphasis the reader. This is
effectively used throughout
the story.

7. My Impressions
 The I’m Not Scared is a
good book for people who
like reading crime novels.
 If you are looking for a
novel that is full off mystery,
a range of emotions and
drama then I’m Not Scared
is the book for you!
 The book is worth to read.
The story is mysterious and
requires thinking. The book
has a deeper meaning.

stars.
