5th November BONFIRE NIGHT
The Story of Guy Fawkes In 1605, a man called Guy Fawkes and his friends planned to kill King James I of England. This was called ‘The Gunpowder Plot’ Guy Fawkes was caught hiding underneath the House of Lords with lots of explosives. He was later hung, drawn and quartered as his punishment.
BONFIRE NIGHT TRADITIONS On Bonfire Night, the children create their own Guy Fawkes and put him on the Bonfire. We let off fireworks as this is what the people did to celebrate Guy Fawke’s death. We eat baked potatoes, toffee apples and parkin. Children write their names in Sparklers.
