Every November 5th in England, Bonfire Night is celebrated to commemorate Guy Fawkes' failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, where he and others attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. On this night, large bonfires are lit and a model of Guy Fawkes is burned in effigy, while fireworks represent the gunpowder and people eat traditional foods cooked over the fires.
