Every November 5th in England, Bonfire Night is celebrated to commemorate Guy Fawkes' failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, where he and others attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. On this night, large bonfires are lit and effigies of Guy Fawkes are burned in remembrance, as people watch fireworks and enjoy traditional foods cooked over the fires.
