The authoritarian style uses strict rules and punishment, which can lead to children being hostile or struggling socially. The authoritative style establishes rules but also allows discussion, resulting in children who are responsible decision-makers. The permissive style has few rules and discipline, and children from this parenting style often struggle academically and make poor choices. The uninvolved style provides minimal supervision and guidance, and children from this parenting tend to lack self-esteem and discipline. Modern psychologists have also defined additional styles like "tiger parenting," which is very strict and controlling.

Late childhood is described as a period of calm before the physical changes of adolescence. Girls generally start puberty around two years earlier than boys, with budding breasts as an initial sign. Children gain an average of 7 pounds and 2.5 inches each year, with growth spurts accompanied by increased appetite. Both girls and boys see increases in body fat in preparation for adolescent growth, with girls seeing earlier and greater increases. This stage is also characterized by advancing motor skills and interests in physical activities shared with friends and family.
The document discusses three parenting styles: authoritarian, permissive, and democratic. The authoritarian style involves parents controlling problem-solving and using fear to get children to obey. The permissive style allows children freedom without consequences for their actions. The democratic style combines firmness and respect by giving children choices and allowing them to learn from their decisions.
One out of three children in America is overweight or obese, leading to health issues like high blood pressure and diabetes that were previously only seen in adults. Obese children also face psychological effects like low self-esteem. Parents and teachers can encourage healthy habits by being good role models, limiting screen time, planning active outdoor activities, using healthy foods for rewards, and incorporating movement into lessons. Students are encouraged to make good food choices and stay active through dance, exercise, and sports.
This document discusses effective discipline strategies for parenting teens. It argues that physical punishment is psychologically damaging and teaches teens that violence is acceptable. Instead, discipline should involve clear rules that are consistently and respectfully enforced through logical consequences. Effective discipline is also balanced with warmth and respect. The goals are to teach responsibility while maintaining a healthy relationship between parent and teen.
The document discusses developing self-esteem in children, noting that self-esteem is formed by both a child's own perspective and the perspectives of significant people in their life. It identifies 5 components of self-esteem - sense of security, identity, belonging, purpose, and personal competence - and provides descriptions of behaviors associated with high and low levels of each. Finally, it gives tips for parents to build their child's self-esteem through providing a safe environment, encouragement, responsibility, and avoiding over-praise, over-criticism, and doing everything for their children.
This document discusses responsible parenthood and the roles and responsibilities of parents. It outlines several key responsibilities of parents including providing basic needs like food, shelter and grooming. Parents are also responsible for their children's safety, self-esteem, values, discipline and health. The document emphasizes the importance of providing a good education and maintaining the health of the family. It also discusses the relationship between family size and family health, noting that the family size should be enough to meet each member's needs.
Raising a child in today's world is challenging for parents. The document provides guidance on positive parenting techniques to help children grow up healthy. It emphasizes becoming an expert in child development, providing unconditional love while also setting clear boundaries and rules, and empowering children by listening to their views and guiding them through tough decisions. The tips encourage focusing on developing a strong relationship with open communication, understanding a child's friends and influences, and seeking help from professionals when needed to best support a child's healthy development.

This is a talk given to third year parents of La Salle Academy, Iligan City, Philippines on October 3, 2009 during their Parent-Child Dialogue Level Day.
This document discusses 3 case studies showing the influence of parenting styles on children's moral development. It analyzes parenting styles like authoritarian, uninvolved, permissive, and authoritative. Case study 1 examines a 22-year-old with poor communication skills due to her authoritarian father. Case study 2 looks at a 20-year-old who was sent to live with grandparents from age 5 and struggles with separation. Case study 3 is about a 14-year-old boy who stole to get attention from his permissive parents. The document concludes by discussing Islamic views on parenting responsibilities and maintaining communication and religious environment.
There are three main parenting styles described in the document: authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative. The authoritarian style involves high demands but low responsiveness from parents. Children raised this way may have low self-esteem and be angry or resentful. The permissive style provides few rules and guidelines, resulting in children with poor self-discipline and social skills. The authoritative style maintains firm expectations while also showing love, understanding, and respect. Children raised this way tend to be social, develop good relationships, do well academically, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors.
The document summarizes the results of a survey about parenting styles. Most students reported that their parents have an indulgent parenting style, being responsive but not highly demanding. The document also outlines the four main parenting styles: indulgent, authoritarian, authoritative, and uninvolved. Indulgent parents are lenient and avoid confrontation, while authoritarian parents are highly demanding but not responsive. Authoritative parents are both demanding and responsive, while uninvolved parents are low in both response and demand.
1. The document discusses responsible parenting and defines it as shaping children's values and character through unconditional love and Christian values while providing for their physical, emotional, moral, psychological and spiritual needs.
2. It notes that parenting is important for building a strong family and community as children who grow up in a good family environment tend to be better disciplined and have stronger faith.
3. The document cites an education expert who says that through steady parental leadership and guidance, children can acquire virtues like sound judgment and self-control.
This document discusses four common parenting styles: uninvolved, permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative. It describes each style based on two dimensions - the level of acceptance (warmth and responsiveness) and level of control (expectations and demands placed on children). The uninvolved parent is low on both, the permissive parent is high on acceptance but low on control, the authoritarian parent is low on acceptance but high on control, and the authoritative parent scores high on both acceptance and control. The effects of each parenting style and variations along the acceptance/control dimensions are also briefly touched on.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. In languages like Python, this issue arises when the specified module cannot be found or accessed, hindering the program's functionality. Resolving import errors is crucial for maintaining smooth software operation and uninterrupted development processes.
Strategies for Effective Upskilling is a presentation by Chinwendu Peace in a Your Skill Boost Masterclass organisation by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan on 08th and 09th June 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM on each day.

How to Add Chatter in the odoo 17 ERP ModuleCeline George
In Odoo, the chatter is like a chat tool that helps you work together on records. You can leave notes and track things, making it easier to talk with your team and partners. Inside chatter, all communication history, activity, and changes will be displayed.
1. Body positivity:
Most of the children are not aware of body health care. We can reshape
their behavior to value their health and also appearance.
You can try these practices to teach your child good habits and a body-
positive mindsetfrom a young age. And also influence other people that
commita bad mindset about bodypositivity: number one Model healthy
behaviors, you need to be physically healthy and also mentally healthy. To
be a role modelto your child or other people.Number 2 Explain to them the
discrimination about body appearance, you can educate your child as they
getting older to not body shame their self and also the people they see in
the society. Number 3 Talk about what bodies can accomplish, create an
encouraging environment at home, where you motivate kids to think
positively about what their bodies can accomplishevery single day. Ask
questions like, “What can you do with those strong arms?” or, “How does
your bodyfeel when you play sports/exercise/runaround?” The earlier you
start doing this, the better since it can help children develop self-worththat
isn’t entirely tied to their appearance. And lastly, keep the focus on talents
and character traits. Build their confidence by discussing qualities such as
kindness, curiosity, and perseverance, showing that these are more
important traits than physical size or appearance. Ask: “What makes a
good friend?” or say, “She must have practiced for a long time to be so
good at dancing!” Prepare your child for what to do when they hear others
commenting, comparing, or criticizing bodies or appearance.
