1 Preliminaries
Minimum fillet weld thickness is 3mm.
Supplier should provide full and details shop drawing to be approved by ICRC prior manufacturing the tanks.
Design Codes:
- Pressed Steel Section for tank to BS 1564 and
- Structural Steel Work to BS 5950 Part 1 1990.
- Visual Inspection of Fusion Welded joints to BS 5289.
- Dead and Live Load Analysis to BS 6399.
- Wind Load Analysis to CP3 ch V 1972.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATION - Design Codes:
- Hot rolled sections to BS 4360 Grade 43A or equivalent.
- Cold formed sections to BS 5950. Part 5 1997 or equivalent.
- Bolts and Nuts to BS 3692 and BS 4190 or equivalent.
- Welding Specification to BS 5135 or equivalent.
- Welding Electrodes to BS 639 or equivalent.
- Hot dip galvanization to BS 639 or equivalent.
Galvanization: As per ABS EN ISO 1461 ( The Standard Specification for Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized) Coatings on Iron and Steel Products)
The cost of labour and materials and all applicable VAT and all required shipping documents is the responsibility of the supplier as well as the transport
to the ICRC Warehouse inside the country of the supplier. The ICRC will be responsible for the transport from the supplier country to the final destination
Sudan.

Supplier should provide a detailed structural analysis report (Hard copy) + Digital copy of structural analysis on STAAD.Pro or any other
software accepted by the ICRC
All Panels, beams, angles & bolts to be made of Hot dip Galvanized steel and to have a tensile strength of not more than 432N/mm2 (28tons /inch2)
and a minimum elongation of 17%. All steel washers to be Galvanized steel.
Where applicable all high tensile nuts and washers to have a minimum tensile strength of 570N/mm2 (37tons /inch2).
Completion Period: Two months after the tanks received in Sudan
Plumbing Works: plumbing works are not included however, provisions for 6 inlets, 2 outlets, 1 washout and 1 vent to be included.
Ground Tank:
Inlet-1 3 inch (DN80).
Inlet-2 2 inch (DN 63).
Inlet-3 2 inch (DN 63).
Inlet-4 2 inch (DN 63).

Foundations: Construction of the foundation is Client responsibility however, the detailed design for the foundations should be provided by the suppliers

Tank Specifications:

Pressed Panel Painted Tank: Comprising of 5mm thick mild steel plates Roof cover from
1.5mm thick MS sheets, angle bracings, connecting brackets, internal and caged external
ladders, nozzles, calibrated level indicator, lockable manhole, and all connection bolts, glastic
sealant necessary for your erection and tank assembly.
Structural Steelwork and Project Notes.
1.The applicable British Standard specifications shall apply appropriately to materials and
workmanship.
2.Painting:

Inside Tank: As per the BS EN ISO 1461 (Standard Specification for Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized
Coatings on Iron and Steel Products)

Outside Tank: As per the BS EN ISO 1461 (Standard Specification for Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized

3.All steelwork to be shot blasted and painted as specified before dispatch.
4.All bolts to be galvanized steel and to be designed for a maximum tensile strength of not
more than 432N/mm2 (28tons /inch2) and a minimum elongation of l7o/o as per the BS 5950.
5.Where applicable all high tensile nuts and washers to have a minimum tensile strength of
570N/mm2 (37tons /inch2).

- Insurance coverage for supplier technician
- The basic tools required for the installation, testing and commissioning for the technician.
The ICRC responsibility:
- The cost of 12 casual workers for the manual labour required for tanks installation.
- 20 USD / day Peridium for the supplier technician during his staying in Sudan and
- Air fares to Sudan / Kadugli
- Transport of the tanks from supplier yard to the final destination in Sudan/
- VAT and export / import taxes ( required documents to be provided by the supplier).
