Benjamin Bloom developed Bloom's Taxonomy in 1956 to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. The taxonomy contains six main categories: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. In 2001, Bloom's Taxonomy was updated to better align with modern students and pedagogy, renaming the categories to remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The taxonomy provides a framework for teachers to organize learning objectives and goals to help students understand the purpose and progression of their education.
