- 2. BLOOD • Blood is a very important liquid. • It carries oxigen and the substances from digestion to different parts of our body. • The journey of the blood around our body is called circulation.
- 3. • The circulatory system is reponsible for blood circulation. • It is made up of the heart and the blood vessels. •
- 4. THE HEART. • The heart is an organ. • It pumps the blood around our body. • Our heart is between the two lungs.
- 5. BLOOD VESSELS • Blood ciculates around our body inside blood vessels. • There are three types of blood vessels: arteries, veins, capillaries.
- 6. - Arteries carry the blood with oxygen. - Veins collect blood with carbon dioxide. - Capillaries connect veins and arteries.
- 7. BREATHING The respiratory system is made up of the following organs: nostrils, trachea, two bronchial tubes and two lungs. Our ribs protect our lungs.
- 8. • Oxygen from the air passes through the walls of our lungs into our blood.
- 9. Air enters our body through the nose and mouth. It passes through the nostrils. It goes down through the trachea and the bronchial tubes, and into the lungs.
- 10. • We make two movements: inhalation and exhalation. • When we inhale, our lungs fill with air. • When we exhale, air leaves our lungs.
