• Blackboard Learn (eCampus) is a Learning Management
System (LMS) that allows instructors to compile content for
students to access online including:
• Lectures
• Videos
• Quizzes
• Discussion boards

COLLABORATE?
• Blackboard Collaborate is a web conferencing system that works
seamlessly with eCampus (Blackboard Learn) to conduct online,
interactive meetings. The system has audio, video, recording,
and whiteboard capabilities.
• Use Collaborate to hold office hours with one student or web
conference with an entire class.

GRADEBOOK
• While there is no university or law school policy which
requires instructors to use the gradebook, it is a robust
tool that can help organize and sort data.
• Access the Grade Center from the Blackboard Control
Panel.
5. UPLOADING CONTENT
Once a course area has been created, different types
of content may be created within the area. Steps include:
1. Access the content area where you want to create the
assignment and ensure that Edit Mode is ON.
2. On the action bar, point to Build Content to display the drop-
down list, then select the desired content type.
3. Create the Content.
6. THIRD PARTY TOOLS
Camtasia - Records onscreen computer activity, PowerPoint presentations,
voiceovers, webcam video, and any additional actions performed on a computer.
Flickr - Post a photo from Flickr Creative Commons within your course area. The
link provides credit to the original photographer's Flickr post. (Installation)
Google Apps - A suite of web-based, integrated communication and
collaboration tools. The core Apps include: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Groups, Sites,
and Hangouts.
Relay - A server-based lecture capture system for uploading, encoding, and
exporting computer screen recordings for viewing on a computer or mobile
device.
Blackboard integrates with a number of Third Party Tools to enhance the learning
experience for students, including:

• NBC Learn - Post an item from NBC Learn (educational arm of NBC
News dedicated to providing resources for students, teachers
and lifelong learners) within your course area.
• Second Life - A publicly available virtual extension of the main Texas
A&M University campus in College Station, Texas.
• YouTube - Post a video from the website YouTube within your course
area.
• SoftChalk - Digital curriculum authoring solution that lets you take
content you already have, combine it with resources from the web
(such as videos, web widgets and textbook media) and turn it into
interactive, web-based modules.
• Web 2.0 Tools - Web 2.0 tools enable you to share information,
interact with students, and collaborate in new ways. (Includes Web 2.0
tools like Twitter, Del.icio.us, Prezi, VoiceThread, Issuu, and Screencast-
O-Matic.)
8. MOBILE APP
• Blackboard Mobile Learn allows instructors to access courses
from a variety of devices, including iPhone and Android. Search
for Texas A & M University - College Station in the
mobile app to bring up the correct institution.

• View and post in discussion forums, comment on blogs and journals
• See the course roster and view grades
• Upload media as attachments to discussion boards and blogs
