Professional Experience
Director of Operations JDSU Corp. 2009-July 2015
o Led engineering and operations teams on the development and production of advanced
optical communication devices in a class 100 cleanroom. Responsible for all aspects of
the operations including NPI, production line, planning, yield, quality, finances, CM
management, Suppliers management, staff hiring and development, etc.
o Mentored and directed engineers on data gathering and analysis, problem solving, and
implementation of the best known manufacturing practices such as change management,
document control, electronic traveler, process control, problem resolution plan, operators
training and certification, etc.
o Enabled an approximately 40% increase in revenue through timely qualification and
ramp up of new products as well as improved yield and tool utilization.
o Fostered a strong safety mindset among staff that resulted in the best safety performance
among all JDSU manufacturing sites.
o Successfully ran a lean and efficient operation that resulted in the highest earning per
headcount among all JDSU sites.
o Led full relocation of production facility in 2010 with virtually no impact to customers.
The move involved relocation of all process equipment followed by timely re-
qualification of all processes and products at the new site.
o Led outsourcing of the manufacturing line of select products to offshore contract
manufacturers. Closely oversaw CM’s process development and qualification activities
to keep them on track against the project milestones.
o Engaged directly with internal and external customers to address their concerns regarding
the quality, performance, or shipment of products, as they arose.
o Collaborated closely with various internal teams including R&D, Supply Chain, Sales,
and PLM to ensure that the customer requirements and demand were successfully met.
o Provided regular updates on the operations key performance indicators to the executive
management.
o Developed and led an empowered Ops team of 80+ engineers and technicians.
2. o As the site lead for one of JDSU’s major sites with over 200 employees, initiated and

engagement survey for 3 consecutive years.
Senior Engineering Manager JDSU Corp. 2007- 2009
o Led a team of 10 engineers to develop and sustain wafer processing operations for
fabrication of advanced optical devices.
o Fab yields and output improved significantly through the use of effective problem-
solving techniques and implementation of best known manufacturing systems and
practices (e.g. advanced SPC, change control, training, KPIs, etc.)
Senior Process Engineer Intel Corp. 2004-2007
o Joined a newly formed Photonics group to develop the capability of making optical
communication devices for the first time at Intel.
o Developed and sustained a number of lithography and etch processes to enable the
fabrication of these devices.
Lithography/Etch Group Leader Intel Corp. 1997-2004
o Led lithography and etch engineering teams on the development of new processes for
sub-micron Flash and Logic semiconductor devices.
o Managed process teams to sustain several lithography and etch operations in a class1
cleanroom through strict adherence to Intel’s best manufacturing practices.
Chemical Vapor Deposition Process Eng. Intel Corp. 1993-1997
o Developed and sustained Plasma Enhanced CVD processes for interlayer dielectrics and
Contacts filling.
