Overview
• Element Six (E6) is a subsidiary of De Beers and the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial
diamond supermaterials. Element Six operates globally with its head office registered in Luxembourg, and
primary manufacturing facilities in China, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, South Africa and the UK.
Responsibilities
• Provide support to roll out the company World Class Manufacturing programme modules and lean
manufacturing principles
• Formulate World Class Manufacturing project plans and reports
• Deliver production system improvements to achieve tangible business benefits
• Plan and facilitate workshops on WCM modules and activities, i.e.
o Train employees and WCM skills and tools
o Visual management system and shop-floor visual white board support

• Ensuring that Safety systems meet world class through auditing and maintaining safety requirement like
housekeeping, training of new employees, performing risk assessment (based on machine safety).

material levels management control, and people management for milling and bagging and machining plant
(including their induction, training, supervision, motivation and development).

Responsibilities
• Project assistant for the Diamond research laboratory where I was responsible for manufacturing of ceramic,
amour and polycrystalline composites for the drilling, aeroplanes and body amour insert applications where I
was responsible for:
o Sample preparation from raw powder milling, precomposite assembly, sintering, lapping and
polishing of samples
o Non-Destructive testing of samples including DYE Penetration and analysis for the sintered
samples, using ESEM-EDS analysis of powders using a Malvern Mastersizer, XRD, XRF and
oxygen analyser.
o Report writing and presentation
o Responsible for delivery of specific developments SD
• Under guidance of the product development manager, development of new products (L2 through Pilot):
o Establishment of child PCC
o Design/development of processes to produce required product properties, performance and
quality
