Intro to Characters

1. INTRODUCTION TO THE CHARACTERS FEATURING IN
THE “WEEPING WILLOWS”

2. Hania
Hania plays the final girl in the “Weeping Willows”. In
slasher films it is very conventional to see characters who
are intelligent and who make the correct decisions at the
right time are known to survive for longer. This will be the
same convention we will use in our trailer. Hania will be
shown as a mature girl who will avoid drinking and partying
to make her character seem quite sensible. However, it is
usually very conventional to see Asian girls get killed first.
We are going to challenge this convention and make Hania
survive throughout the whole trailer as we wanted to make
our trailer look unique and different to all the other slasher
films.

3. Liam Woolford
Liam Woolford plays the antagonist role in the film.
As he looks quite big and strong we thought he
would be appropriate to play such role as he would
fully justify it. He is a very tall person which is also
another reason why we thought he would be suitable
to play the antagonist in the film. The antagonist
character that Liam will play will be inspired from the
antagonist who featured in the film “Friday the 13th”
who is named Jason Voorhees.
Liam will be wearing a baggy black coat as the
costume in the film to emphasise his masculine side
and to also emphasise the fact that he has more
authority over all the other characters in the film.

4. Cian
Cian is the male character who will feature in our film.
He is shown as a teenager in the film who seems to
be an energetic and fun person who seems to attract
girls quite easily. This character is shown to be
someone who enjoys life. He plays the usual
stereotype of a male teenager. He is seen drinking
and partying and there are specific conventions
shown which follows the common conventions of a
teenager. He has a girlfriend named Kiera who we
would be able to see in a scene kissing him. This also
gives us an idea of how we would expect to see
teenagers behave. In a lot of slasher films it is
conventional to see teenage characters get into
sexual activities.

5. Kirstin
Kirstin will play the loud and noisy character in
the film. We would always expect to see the
loud character featuring in a slasher film. She
doesn’t really care about what other people
think and just wants to enjoy life. This is a
typical convention of a teenager. She seems
to want to get attraction from the male
characters in the film and we would be able to
see the consequences she will face because
of her characteristics.

6. Kiera
Kiera also plays a stereotypical character that we would
expect to see in a slasher film. She likes to get attention
from the male characters. She wears less clothing to make
herself look sexualised. She is seen to wear a lot of makeup
throughout the trailer. Usually in horror films we would be
able to see the blonde female character get killed first. So
we have chosen this person to play this specific role so that
we clearly follow the codes and conventions of the slasher
trailer. When you watch films such as the “Scream” you
would be able to see the blonde girl get killed first we are
going to use this as inspiration and do this in our trailer as
well.
