This document discusses emerging trends in mobile technology that will lead to a paradigm shift beyond mobile apps and the web. It outlines 3 trends driving this change: 1) the proliferation of mobile apps is unsustainable, 2) mobile devices are getting smaller and cheaper, pushing for more functionality, and 3) devices are leveraging other platforms beyond just apps. This paradigm shift will move towards just-in-time interaction through discovery services rather than predefined apps, breaking out of the "browser ghetto" to liberated interactivity across platforms. A new "Google-like" discovery service is poised to be the next major platform after this shift occurs.
