Aldrich Hazen Ames Report
Aldrich Hazen Ames is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operations officer active
from 1967 to 1994 and was responsible for some of the most damaging acts of espionage during
the Cold War, to include the true identities of CIA officers, high ranking assets, and operations.
Ames actions resulted in the deaths of at least ten CIA assets towards the end of the Cold War and
completely shutting down CIA activities in Russia at a crucial moment in history. The purpose of
this report is to inform the reader of Ames activities and instill the need to remain vigilant to detect
and stop insider threats from damaging US assets. This report will detail Ames background leading
to his decision to commit espionage, the espionage itself, the... Show more content on

The prevailing belief amongst the senior officials was either a technical or human cause that
lead to the failure. The initial published report stated each of the cases failed of their own accord.
After the investigative team published the report, it appeared new cases were immune to the
mass failings previously seen. However, the CIA Inspector General and President s Foreign
Intelligence Advisory Board issued an assessment on Lee Edward Howard s case. It stated the
CIA failed to take heed of the indicators Howard demonstrated and refused to admit an operations
officer could betray the agency. Further, there was an increased need to report incidents of CI

I Hate Children s Theater
I hate children s theater! I despise the term, and yet I love creating work for children. Calling my
practice Children s theater limits possibilities, as many consider this field of performance more
educational rather than holding high artistic merits, which leaves me frustrated. I am an artist,
not a schoolteacher, and have seen work for young audiences from all over the world with the
highest artistic quality; an aesthetic I strive to achieve. This perspective can be a challenge to
express when I meet people, as I have to navigate multiple terms and narratives for the cast of
stakeholders in my practice. As a result, a game of Hopscotch Discourse develops and sends me
skipping through a language obstacle course to win an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They could be picturing the time when their school teacher casts them to play the tree in the school
play. To prevent this, I tell the artists I make children s theater for people who hate children s
theater .
In other words, I kill animals on stage puppet animals to be exact. Parents die, no child learns a
lesson, and sometimes, we don t even use a narrative. This explanation sparks a laugh in artists and
generates interest in my practice and gives me the ability to produce the kind of shows that I want
to create. Ultimately, my voice gets invited into the diverse circle of artists who create work for
adults.
Talking points must adjust as I jump to the next stakeholder. I rely on an ecosystem to make theater
and depend solely on an audience to support my artistic practice and value system. Without the
value system supported, the work and those who create it will not thrive. I strive to make
meaningful, inclusive content with a high production value and pay a fair wage to every artist
involved with the company. Accessibility becomes a top priority, striving to reach as many
differently abled, racial and economically diverse children an opportunity to come to the show. To
adhere to these values, I need an audience to buy tickets to support this work.
Consequently, the sustainability of my practice no longer relies on standard institutional models; it
depends on moms. Years ago, I realized grants drained

What It Means To Be An American
To be an American it meant that You are free, you can say the pledge of allegiance, vote for your
president, proud to live in the United States. Or at least that is the general definition found on
google on the website Scholastic.com. However being an American does not ,mean anything in
specific. American is interpreted in many ways, there is no solid meaning, only various
opinions. Many will respond to you that to be an American is to be free, in realization is it
really? The word American has a true meaning behind it. It is being able to have many rights that
other states do not have. A lot of people come to America for the opportunities that are offered.

Martin Luther King Jr Influence
For centuries, African Americans and indigenous peoples have been overlooked, discriminated
against, and seen as inferior for one reason: the colour of their skin. Over time, society has
evolved in many ways due to many people s courage and determination, notably Martin Luther
King Jr a Baptist Minister and the leader of multiple civil rights protests and movements. In
Australia, Aboriginal people were granted voting rights before Federation in 1901, but only if they
had served in the army and were over 21. It wasn t until 1962 that all Aboriginal Australians were
allowed to vote. In 1924, all Native Americans were granted the right to vote, regardless of cultural

Martin Luther King Jr. enlightened so many lives. He shifted the world s balance and changed
the way people see. In the modern day, society are more trusting and inclusive of people from
different cultures every day, and King was the spark that lighted that fire of equality. To order
King s most to least successful achievements and attempts, I could not decipher, as his entire
career was a complete success and society would not be where we are today if it weren t for each
accomplishment. But to name all his massive political triumphs in order of their occurrence I can:
King was chosen to head the Montgomery Improvement Association, he became the youngest
recipient of the Spingarn Medal, he became president of a group known as the Southern Christian
Leadership Conference, he led a nonviolent army to protest against discrimination in Albany, he
campaigned to achieve the desegregation of many public facilities in Birmingham, he received a
Nobel Peace Prize, he led a drive to register black voters in Selma, Alabama, he conducted a five
day march from Selma to the capitol in Montgomery, he organized protests against the city s
discrimination in housing and employment, he inspired and planned the Poor People s Campaign, a

The Relation Of Specific Psychopathology With Social...
The article presented by Gray et al (2010), thoroughly examines the relations of specific
psychopathology with social perception. Autism spectrum disorder, schizotypy and psychopathy
will be further inspected and researched through a transdiagnostic approach treating these disorders
as impairments of the underlying cognitive system instead of as a difference in entity. Gray et al
(2010), tries to define the aforementioned disorders with both an agency (cognitive abilities and
control) and an experience (primitive or animalistic behaviours) score which are underlying aspects
of mindperception. Mind perception can either be defined as overperception, perceiving a
nonexistent mind, or underperception, failing to perceive those with an... Show more content on

The research was conducted with results from Self Report online questionnaires designed to assess
Autism, Schizotypy Personality and Psychopathy. Every participant were asked to complete web
versions of the Autism Spectrum Quotient scale (AQ), the Schizotypy Personality Questionnaire
(SPQ B) and the Self Report Psychopathy Scale (SPR III). To encourage participants to be honest
with their answers, respect for participants rights and dignity was sustained through getting rid of a
subscale from SPR III that may had confidentiality concerns. Correlations for agency and
experience were adjusted to make sure no third variable influences or confounds are included in the
final result. Any significant correlations were adjusted to maintain the transparency of the results.
These questionnaires included questions that not only concerns men and women but of other
entities such: as dogs, baby, dead women, God, robot, Superman, and trees. With assessment of
these agency and experience correlation scores, the researchers can validate the influences of these
mental disorders with social perception.
Having a selection of different choices on the questionnaire strengthens and allows an accurate
representation of how these individuals perceive the entities, especially if they can be categorized.

Supporting Empirical Law With Graphical Analysis
Supporting Empirical Law with Graphical Analysis
INTRODUCTION
Much of the new and impressive science throughout history naturally originates from theory; many
great and important mathematical and scientific discoveries come about by excellent thinking. This
does not mean that these findings do not have evidence; even Galileo conducted experiments to
support his claims.
However many brilliant theorists work in a field, physical science derives certain laws only through
experimentation and discovery. An empirical law shows itself to be true not by theory, but by
repeated observations and trials. This experiment discovered the empirical law that predicts the
period of a simple pendulum through graphical analysis. The length of time taken for a simple
pendulum to finish a period cannot be hypothesized on the laws of physics alone. The empirical law
of a simple pendulum, which was revealed after experimentation had concluded, written:
T=2.00в€
љl+0
means that the time, T, of the period of the simple pendulum equals twice the square root of the
length. It was hypothesized that the data collected would support the empirical, within reasonable
percent error. By determining the graphical relationships between different variables and their
effect on the period of the pendulum, the raw data revealed an equation.

Who Is St Gertrude s Piety
Saint Gertrude of Nivelles is the patron saint of cats. Saint Gertrude was a seventh century
abbess who with her mother Itta founded the Benedictine of Nivelles in present day Belgium.
Saint Gertrude was never formally canonized but Pope Clement Xll declared her feast day

659. She was born a nun and after her mothers death she was appointed abbess at only 20 years
old. She was known for her hospitality to pilgrims and her aid to missionary monks from

She is commonly seen running up her pastoral staff or cloak are hopeful looking mice
representing the Souls in Purgatory to which she had an intense devotion to. Saint Gertrude s
piety was first seen when she was ten years old when she turned down the offer of a noble
marriage declaring that she would not marry him or any other man because Christ alone would
be her groom. Saint Gertrude is not only the patron saint of cats she is also the patron saint of
the recently deceased, gardeners, travelers, those with Mental Illness, and those with a morbid
fear of Mice and or Rats. Saint Gertrude was a very inspiring person who someone can take a lot
from. She was brave enough to stand up to her elders and turn down a marriage proposal to be
with her forever groom Jesus Christ. She is an inspiring strong Catholic Woman who I am

Transgender Equality In Sports
How does one define gender? Is it in terms of sex or is a distinct term with separate qualities and
qualifications? In the past century, sports have wrestled with these questions on how to qualify and
quantify gender. By addressing these issues, whether intentional or not, the sports world has
certainly broken down some barriers to transgender equality. Nevertheless, there is certainly more
work to do to further progress transgender equality in sports and arguably it is the moral obligation
of the sports world to pursue such equality. Ultimately, transgender people should have the right to
pursue competitive careers that match their gender identity. Before addressing the issue of
transgender equality in sports one must first understand what... Show more content on

The argument centers around the idea that female transgender athletes may have unfair advantages
over their competitors due to their strength or height that is a byproduct of testosterone (Time,
2015). This proposal has multiple flaws. First, there is the misconception that female transsexual
athletes keep the physical strength of their previously male body, but this claim is not supported
by medical facts (Krane Barak, 2012). Specifically, studies have shown that after one year a
transitioning transsexuals testosterone levels drop to be consistent with those of a cisgender female
athlete, their muscle mass decreases, their body fat redistributed to match their identity, [and] bone
density is decreased (Krane Barak, 2012). Consequently, researchers have concluded that female
transsexuals can compete in sports without having an inherent physiological advantage (Krane
Barak, 2012). Now, some may argue that based on this evidence only transsexual athletes should
be allowed to compete, which brings up my second point: the pervasive idea that male athletes are
inherently superior to female athletes. Not only is such an idea sexist in nature, it is also
discriminatory. In general, transgender males do not tend to face as much opposition to allow them
to play competitively (Time, 2015). This difference in

An Effective Brand Image Of The Integrated Marketing...
I perceive the best course of action to implements an effective brand image is to have a major
Influencer market the newly developed product in the integrated marketing communications
mix. Since there is a higher rate of social media users, our Influencers will be utilized best here,
and on commercials. Mobile Makreting Inc. is lesser known these days and needs a fresh face
to bring them back to life. There are three Influencers I have in mind as our branding image. The
three Influencers are Brad Pitt, Sandra Bulock, and Emma Watson, or a combination of all three. I
choose these three for specific reasons. For example, they are all three well know around the
world and have a large following. Sandra Bullocks father is from Iraq and could make for better
ties to the Middle East, and Emma Watson is English so the better ties could be in that region using
her. The decision is yours.

Society Versus the Individual Essay
Society Versus the Individual
The adage, the proper study of man is man , aside from its obvious gendered exclusion, describes
mounds of writing and thought about society and its components. Debates rage on in virtually all
fields with variations on the same theme: society versus the individual. In the writings of Durkheim,
Sahlins, and Foucault, the individual as coherent, persistent, and in control dissolves and is
subsumed, to different extents, within society. For the first two, society dominates the individual to
a large degree but not entirely. For Foucault, however, the entire terms of the debate seem
meaningless, as both are constructs of one larger mode of discursivity: the power/knowledge game
that creates the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, these philosophical distinctions do not necessarily preclude subjectivity or make one feel
any less free , but the move is important strategically. If the subject is, while not an illusion
(Foucault 29), fabricated by discourse, it becomes a politicized space that can have various
destructive or productive effects.
Beyond being merely arbitrary, Foucault offers some solid reasons the individual may be
politically undesirable. On the one hand, the concept of an individual subject with relative
autonomy, coherence, persistence, and so forth is far from internally cogent. If the subject is
partially determined, and partially free, the theory doesn t say much at all because free remains
undefined. If the freedom has behavior, patterns, or rules then it is not free, but if it is random, it
is just as meaningless to call it free. Further, if the subject is only free in certain cases, but is not
free to determine what those cases are, then it cannot control its own freedom, and is thus again
unfree. Even if the self were considered entirely free, which can only be established of course by
non falsifiable decrees such as the Sartrean insistence

Summary Of The Poem XIV By John Walcott
From the very beginning of the poem XIV , it is clear the author is describing an experience that
has left a lasting impression on him. Walcott vividly details his childhood visit with the elderly
storyteller, and his journey there. Throughout the poem the author uses poetic devices to convey
how this experience was a defining moment in his transformation from childhood to adulthood, and
contributed to his identity and newfound wisdom. It is apparent from the first line of the poem that
author is in a stateof overriding fear travelling through the unknown: likening the road to an old
snake shedding its skin. A snake is a clear representation of childhood fear and youthful paranoia,
due to its intimidating nature. Walcott compares the path to a snake because he fears it just like a
snake, to him the path is daunting and potentially deadly at first. The author not only compares the
road to a snake but a snake shedding its skin. This paints a grotesque image for readers and
illustrates how he views his initial journey with anything but enthusiasm. The author is in the
unfamiliar wilderness searching for not only the storytellers house but himself. His state of
childhood terror is only counterbalanced by his encounter with the storyteller. Walcott effectively
separates the poem into two parts according to the state of mind he was in: fright and then wonder.
He shifts from these two contrasting moods by stating There s childhood, and there s childhood s

Adr 6-22 Values
Why do you wake up in the morning? Who are you deep down as a person or Soldier? What are
your values? These are soul searching questions that the Army needs and wants to know. Getting to
know the individuals that the Army is comprised of will give you a better understanding on how to
lead them. This is where ADRP 6 22 attributes and competencies come into play. The Army
profession certifies competence, character and commitment and each one is emphasized differently.
Character is defined as a person s moral and ethical qualities, basically who you are as a person.
Your character impacts every decision you make or don t make. It will drive the train on every
aspect of your personal and military career. The Army emphasizes that it wants leaders of
character based on regulation and the Army Values. The key to the Army s leadership model is
that it will fit into almost every Soldiers own set of values. As an organization the Army s core
values must resonate with every Soldier in order to operate. When you integrate values it is no
longer someone else s view but rather a unified set of core values that everyone believes in. When
you are a leader of character with unified values you start to build trust with your Soldiers.

Sister Act Sparknotes
The Academy showcases their annual musical. The Sister Act begins with the protagonist,
Deloris, who has ambitions of becoming the next big thing. Her life turns upside down when she
catches her significant other murdering one of his employees. In order to secure safety, the police
hide her in a convent. There, we meet the other sisters including Mother Superior who despises
Deloris. However, Deloris saved the church by reconstructing their choir. As for the murderous
husband, he was caught by the police when attending one of the mass ceremonies. The protagonist
is Deloris Van Cartier who initially wanted to pursue a singing career. Sister Mary Robert was the
youngest out of the others. She is a shy and innocent character who metamorphoses into a bold and
confident sister. Unlike Sister Mary Robert, Sister Mary Patrick is always an outgoing and
spontaneous character. Mother Superior acts as an antagonist for most of the performance. Lt.

aspects of the play are the singings and the ability that every main character could hit the notes. I

Over that last decade Area 51 has also come to be associated with UFO s. There were stories that

Since the Industrial revelation the nuclear family has been recognised as the norm of British
society and although there have been recent changes in family life, is the norm of Britain today still
the conventional nuclear family?
The nuclear family has always been considered the norm in society ever since the industrial
revolution but in society today the single parent family has had a dramatic increase from around
4% to 10% and no longer is the conventional nuclear family the powerful norm that it used to be.
The supposed value of the traditional family unit is that it provides social cohesion and stability

that it is found in some form in every society. However although most societies in the world have
some established arrangements for the production, rearing and socialisation of children this does
not mean that these arrangements always involve the prime responsibility resting on the family.
However there have been criticisms of Murdock suggesting that in his passion for his work he may

can perform various functions of the family that he describes as being indispensable
Parsons stated that the nuclear family performs two core functions; the primary socialization of
children, and the stabilization of adult personalities. Parsons argues that the women s role in the
family is expressive , providing warmth, security and emotional support to the husband and
children, and the males role is instrumental , as the breadwinner. This view of the family and
gender roles for men and women is quite old fashioned. Nowadays conjugal roles are more
symmetrical. Women can now be wage earners and it no longer seems deviant for men to take a

Comparing Dark Water and The Mothman Prophecies Essay
Audiences love to be scared. Horror films attempt to find some sort of trigger in the audiences
mind, and develop it to create horror.
Preceded by the great horror novels such as Dracula, and developed in the early nineteen twenties
and nineteen thirties in Germany. From slash movies, to the post modern psychological thrillers,
horror films have evolved into an art form. This genre relies heavily on the basic horror
conventions. These have been adapted from the early twentieth century, and have developed a
whole series of genre conventions into a familiar variety of scary settings, iconography, and
stereotyped characterisation. Audiences have a clear understanding of this, and they use it to ...

Although the violence in both films is quite obvious as the films progress, both film s psychological
horror is present in the early stages of the films, this form of horror is essential to both films in
gaining the audiences attention and developing their own horror. This is portrayed effectively by
the use of bland, uninteresting isolated settings. This isolation establishes the tense atmosphere of
the films, and the everyday settings of a small village and a block of flats gives a sense of reality
to the horror. This creates a relationship between the audience and the setting of the horror, and this
is developed to create some effective jolts as both films progress.
Characterisation can be used to isolate the audience from the horror, or develop a relationship with
it, depending on how the characters are established. In Dark water , the two main characters are a
mother and her daughter. Both characters have conventional characteristics. The daughter is
innocent. The woman, without a husband, is portrayed weak, this form of stereotype is more the
case in Japan than in America. Along with the setting, this gives us two vulnerable characters, alone
but for each other, giving the director endless possibilities to take advantage of them, by using them

My Spanish Standoff Analysis
The Benefits of Being Bilingual My Spanish Standoff by Gabriella Kuntz explains how the fear of
prejudice against Latin America in the United States led her and her husband to avoid speaking and
teaching their children Spanish. One reason that she decides not to teach her native language to her
children is because she saw how the Anglo Saxons in the community treated her because of her
dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair. Another reason, she mentions involves the fact that her
children developed accents and were unable to understand either language completely. Because of
this, Kuntz decides only to speak to them in English to prevent others from criticizing her children
for speaking with broken grammar and thick accents. She believes

The Gulag Archipelago And One Day Essay
Life during the Soviet Gulag was not a very pleasant experience. Throughout the mid Twentieth
Century in Russia individuals would be imprisoned, punished, and penalized daily not to mention,
that extra ten years could be added for doing absolutely nothing. In addition to, imagine having to
survive day after day in a Siberian labor campwhere you were forced to work outside regardless of
the weather conditions or better yet, your own health conditions. Ivan Denisovich Shukou, an
inmate of the labor camp in 1951 shared his experiences as well of thoughts in detail. Throughout
this book he manages to express his daily struggles on what it is the idea of surviving with dignity.
Shcha 854 was the code given to him for identification as a prisoner where the corrupted prison

Unferth In Beowulf
The Real Unferth Beowulf has many great people throughout the book who do great things, but
there was one person who really stuck out, and not because of his greatness. Unferth and his
bitterness towards Beowulf really made a lasting impression in this book. Unferth did not play a
huge role, but while he was mentioned, he showed his true, vile, colors. His part in the reading was
mainly to talk about the battle between Brecca and Beowulf, but he talked about it with such a
boorish attitude, that it gave him a bad reputation. He was mean and haughty towards Beowulf,
when all Beowulf was trying to do was save Herot. Having an almost frivolous place in the book,

The Consequences Of The Falling Of A Parachute
The falling of a parachute represents something much deeper then the written text. The pulling and
slacking of the parachutes strings shows how basic responsibilities may take priority over original
thought and pull actions in different directions. The idea of being an adult comes with many
challenges and commitments that need to be regulated. This includes balancing work, play, and a
family. Being stranded, these young boys do not have the norms of society, changing and molding
them to be adults. This lack of responsibility and actual leadership gives them a false sense of
adulthood, and what they perceive to be the freedom of age. Having responsibilities can give a

1. Why does the final electron energy not depend on the focusing cylinder voltage?
The final electron energy does not depend on the focusing cylinder voltage because it applies a
force that is parallel to the magnetic field rather than perpendicular to it.
2. Do you think the electrons are emitted from the cathode with zero velocity, one velocity, or a
range of velocities? Hint: The electrons inside the metal that are able to escape are a bit like a gas

To get the electrons to move at the same speed, we would have to turn up the voltage and this

magnitude of the velocity. The velocity is a vector.)
The magnetic field does not change the speed of the electrons. Since the magnetic field is always
perpendicular to the velocity, only the electron movement direction changes and not the speed.

The Positive And Negative Influences Of Reality Shows
The purpose of this source is to measure the positive and negative influences of reality television
programs on preteen and adolescent girls whom age ranges from eleven to seventeen years old. In
this source, many studies are conducted to observe the behavior of the adolescent girls after they
watched reality shows. For example, researchers found that if adolescent girls watched cosmetic
surgery reality shows, they would have higher disordered eating attitudes than others would. On the
contrary, some investigators discovered cosmetic surgery reality programs could in fact bring
positive influence to teenage girls by letting them to know the benefits of cosmetic surgery.
Therefore, researchers conclude young adults are more willing to change their appearance through
cosmetic surgery after they have seen cosmetic surgery reality shows and that proves positive
outcomes indeed exits in reality shows. Another study is created to examine the realness of reality
televisionshows. It is implemented because people are becoming concern that reality shows are
often scripted and they do not necessary indicate reality. Although the source does not explicitly
explain why people s perception of the realness of reality show is important, it reveals if a reality
televisionhas an impact on viewers behavior, then these shows will be considered as real. Based on
these studies, researchers conclude the category of each reality show will determine whether there
is a positive or negative

Analysis Of A Man Runs Into A Woman
A Man Runs into a Woman by Sarah Jane Barnett There s a lot going on in A Man Runs into a
Woman, yet nothing happens as well. Sarah Jane Barnett explores the different means of telling an
individual s story; a cross dressing father interacts with her daughter, a couple tries to connect with
each other after the war, another couple leaves the worst unsaid, and two middle aged strike up an
unlikely friendship. A series of stringed distinctive poems tries exploring the grim police reports of
the death of Texas death row inmates and their heartfelt last words, before their ultimatum. The
book is divided in three parts. The middle ones are the longest and is devoted to the last sentiments
of death row prisoners, facing the ultimatum in America. The links that joins the poems in the
second part is the description of the crimes, what the prisoners had done, which had landed them
where they are in the current scenario. Sarah writes the poems, in a sense, she s announcing to the
world of what she thinks a poem should look like. The Jeffery Levine (2011) website states that the
poems, one writes while urging wittingly or unconsciously is an aesthetic, that should be the ones
that belong in the book (para. 6). Sarah Jane Barnett s main concerns is with the movement of
impact, in slow motion, and its aftermath, as reflected by the title. It is very introspecting in
retrospect, the texts. Although running (Mountains, Auditorium) is mentioned a lot in the poems, I

Analysis Of Pender s Health Promotion Model
Theory This research question is well tied to Pender s Health Promotion Model. The research
question will highlight in some ways activities that individual do on their own to care for their
disease, such as diet, regular monitoring of blood sugar levels and following up with their health
care providers as recommended through their plan of care (Polit Beck, 2012). It also will show
emphasis of the health promotion model, incorporating the health promoting behaviors through
modification of their prior behaviors to ones that will allow them to live a somewhat healthier life
with their new diagnosis. In the same token, the patients will have to have conscious awareness of
the benefits of this change in their lifestyle, identify the barriers that can hinder the change from
happening and know what benefits they will get out of it so they can enable themselves to
commit to more health promoting behaviors (Polit Beck, 2012). This model can help nurses
empower their patient to advocate for their health, to understand that they have to coexist with
their environment (interpersonal and situational barriers) and yet still able to learn to make wise
choice, especially when it comes to health, and be able to relate priorities (Ho, Berggren,
Dahlborg Lyckhage, 2010). Methods The implementation of evidence based practice requires a lot

Relationship Marketing Is Different From Any Other Form Of...
Introduction
For my project I will explain what relationship marketing is. Relationship marketing is different
from any other form of marketing. The reason for this is that relationship marketing identifies the
long term value of customer relationships and relationship marketing extends communication
beyond intrusive advertising and sales promotional messages. Relationship marketing is an
arrangement where both the buyer and seller have an interest in providing a more satisfying
exchange. Also I will explain what the benefits are of relationship marketing to a business and to a
customer. I also will explain the CRM stages, segmentation, technology in relation to relationship
marketing and I will do a case study. I am looking at Boots for my case study. I will explain how
Boots have managed to build valuable relationships with its customers.
Relationship Marketing
Relationship marketing is the process of attracting, maintaining and enhancing relationships with
key individuals over time. Businesses use one on one communication to earn the loyalty of their
target audience.
One of the most expensive and difficult tasks facing any business is acquiring new customers.
Acquiring a new customer can cost five times as much as retaining an existing customer. Research
has shown that 2% increase in customer retention can decrease costs by as much as 10% for a
business. To retain current customers, businesses engage in relationship marketing strategies to
continually attract repeat

The belvedere has to have big openings (windows) so that the occupant of the space can see the

I started to draw the plan of the spaces on the ground floor. I also experimented with the
appropriate scale of the spaces. The elements of the spaces was decided at this point of the design
process. I also emphasise on the accessibility to all the spaces, to create continuity and connections.
The next step ws to integrate the cellar design (overall form), to match the ground level plan and to
create the best pathway to access all the four spaces, to create an amazing architectural experience.

I intended the cellar to be a dark place, with low amount of light entering the space. However, still

Heraclitus once stated, Change is the only constant in life. Since everything is eventually going to

will be fixated in the society for the future generations. In Ethan Watters The Mega Marketing of
Depression in Japan, Watters demonstrates the idea of how capitalism and advertisements make one

In order to change for improvement, a person needs to cultivate self awareness. It is important to
understand that when people introduce ideas to others, there is an underlying sense of
selfishness motivating this action. While GenMe can reverse its course, it would be better for
GenMe to change completely as that would allow for GenMe to not be selfish, like the
Boomers. When the Boomers proposed ideas to GenMe, GenMe accepted the ideas due to lack
of self control over his or her brain. The way for GenMe to become better individuals lies in
cultivating self awareness, which will allow GenMe to improve on its weaknesses, envision
how certain decisions can affect one, and become less self interested. However, due to societal
norms and the way in which the brain works, one can tend to believe that self awareness can
decrease self absorbance and hurt one s own image of self worth, which is not true. Hence, it can
be tough for one to accept his or her weaknesses. While the key for cultivating self awareness
depends on an individual s will, it also depends on the society. It is evident that it is time for
everyone to become positive, eventually leading to a better future for GenMe and the upcoming

If you look on the cover of Abbey Road you can see Paul is the only one out of step and barefoot, to
drawing slightly more attention to Paul. Foreign religions are often buried barefoot. The Beatles,
shown walking in a specific order; John dressed in white, as a religious person would be. Ringo
dressed as an undertaker. Paul, shabby suited and barefoot, resembles a corpse; and finally
George, in old jeans, is a gravedigger. The cover of Abbey Road is a funeral procession. Paul
also seems to be holding a cigarette the nail to the coffin in his right hand, and any Beatle fan
knows Paul is left handed. These all are all subtle hints as to whom we are seeing on the cover
perhaps is not Paul McCartney but in fact a replacement who filled his spot.
The album, Let It Be , the twelfth and final album from the Beatles includes three songs which are

Analysis Of The Poem Lizzy Axiak Aspirations
Lizzy Axiak Aspirations A Sherpa boy was born into a life adventure. He saw the natural beauty
that surrounded him, felt the blasts of breeze which invigorated him and heard the peaceful
sounds of tranquillity. How simple it is to imagine a life of adventure in a distant land. But if we
allow it life can be an exhilarating adventure. Each exciting moment in life can be a new page in
our autobiography. Our aspirations are simply the parameters on our life path some simple,
some beyond the bounds of possibility. Our aspirations are equally important as life itself;
aspirations are the breath of life, chalice of salvation. Unless we aspire we will expire. They
define our life path, they tell us where to go, what we want to become and where our lives are
headed. Unlike all other living things which are content to be, humans are driven to become
greater. From the beginning of human civilisation we expanded empires, extended dynasties and
expressed feelings through art. Our lives today were simply founded on the aspirations of our
forefathers. As history progresses, human s dissatisfaction with the limits nature has imposed on
him has caused us to aspire to go faster, further, deeper and higher. So we invented bullet trains,
steamships, submarines and rocket ships. Before our aspirations can propel us forward, we first
must aspire before our dreams can come true we first must take the time to dream. In my life time I
aspire to close the rift between indigenous and

Sears Tower Structure
One innovative concrete structure I have found that was unique to me was the Willis Tower,
which is located in Chicago Illinois. Having nearly 350,000 employees, Sears Roebuck and
Company decided to create a central office to fit all of their employees. The company decided to
hire architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill to design this enormous skyscraper. In the early
1970 s the project known as the Sears Tower begun. One unique fact about the Sears Tower was
that it took only three years to complete a 1,729 foot tower (from base to tip), which I believe is
impressive considering how fast it was built. After completion, the Sears Tower was known to be
the tallest building in the world for about 25 years. Another unique fact about this skyscraper

The Luck Of Ginger Coffey Essay
In Brian Moore s The Luck of Ginger Coffey, the city of Montreal is depicted as being in a kind
of stasis, its landscape and inhabitants repeatedly described as frozen and stagnant: Four forty
five. Office workers, waiting release as the minute hand moved slowly towards the hour, looked at
the darkness beyond their windows and saw edges of frosting begin to mist the panes (Moore117).
Despite this passage s emphasis on stillness, however, it nevertheless features two references to time
. Throughout Moore s novel, attention is repeatedly paid to specific times or time frames,
complicating the underlying image of Montrealas a city averse to progress. Considering the
subjectiveness of the third person limited narration, it seems best to examine... Show more content

The profession of the contemporary newspaper typist saw a change in corporate culture wherein
the clock became a powerful object, owned only by the foreman and governing the employees. It
seems, however, that Moore s depiction of time is more appropriately a reflection of Ginger s
fixation on the myth of the new world as a land of boundless opportunity. Indeed, the clock does
seem to be independent of the diurnal cycle: As [Coffey] started off, the sun moved west,
unadmitted by the pall clouds which all day had curtained the frozen river and the city islanded
within it . . . Four forty five (117). This image of the sun being blocked from the city by clouds
demonstrates the city s apparent ignorance for the sun s position in the sky, yet the passage
continues on, repeatedly referring to the passing minutes as Coffey makes his way to the
Tribune. One thing that time does not seem so independent from, however, is the lives of the
office workers in the financial district, waiting release as the minute hand moved slowly towards
the hour (117). At five o clock . . . down came the office workers, spilling out into the streets
(117); at five thirty . . . [another] policeman . . . invited Coffey to cross [the street] (117). In this
passage, the connection between time and nature has been completely severed and time has become

Essay on Buddhism in Japan
Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future; it
transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and spiritual, and
it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a
meaningful unity. Albert Einstein (Buddhism)
Buddhism has affected many people. From the Buddha s first followers to my next door neighbor,
people everywhere have followed the teachings of Buddhism. Buddhism was started by a Prince; a
prince who wanted more. Many different ways of showing appreciation to Buddha are present in

One was an elderly man, another was a man suffering from illness, and finally he saw a dead
body surrounded by mourners. Since he had never seen anything like this before, he asked his
charioteer what these things were. He responded to the Prince that these things were natural and
unavoidable, and happened to everyone. Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him
out into the city; this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life
forever. The last sight he saw was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was
completely shaved and he was wearing a yellow robe. Having seen all these things, Buddha not
only became aware of the pain and suffering of humankind, but was also prompted to do something
about it. He left his family in search of the answers to his questions (Buddhism).
Siddhathra traveled throughout the northeastern portion of India, seeking out holy men and
teachers who taught him ancient Indian techniques of meditation. Even though meditation was
important to him, his main quest was to find the answer to the problem of suffering. He wanted
to know why they were suffering and how it could stop. So Siddhartha studied the teachings of

How Does Irving Present The Theme Of Fate
Throughout the course of the novel, the theme of accepting fate and submitting oneself to God s
will is displayed through the faith of Owen Meany and the resolute tone in which he addresses
this belief. In chapter 7 of the novel, when Owen and John go on search to find out more about
John s mother and father, Owen is met by a person named Mr. McSwiney. Mr. McSwiney and
Owen talk and when the topic of John s father comes up, the belief of Owen accepting fate and
submitting will to God arises. Mr. McSwiney mentions to Owen that if [John s father] was
looking for you, he would have found you. GOD WILL TELL HIM WHO HIS FATHER IS, Owen
said. (7.181 182) In this quote, Irving depicts how fate and free will seem to exist in conflict with

McSwiney suggests that John s father has not revealed himself yet because he does not want to
an exercise of his free will. Owen suggests that fate will reveal John s father because Owen has a
complete belief in God, and according to Owen, God will reveal who John s father is. Once
again, Irving illustrates how faithful and submissive Owen Meany is that he believes his voice
is from God and that God will show who John s father really is. However, Irving shows us how
fate and free will seem to exist throughout the novel and at points these two concepts collide and
seem to be in conflict. This is shown between John Wheelwright and Owen Meany John being
the symbol of free will, and Owen being the symbol of believing in fate. John believes
everything that has happened it is by choice, while Owen believes everything is fated. Owen
believes in fate so much that he knows he s going to die on that date and that he is going to die a
hero. However, if one sees the events in the novel, Irving makes it look like Owen is making
choices to fulfill the fated dream. Owen has seen that he dies as a hero and wants to make sure
he dies as a hero. Nevertheless, Owen claims it to be fated but John says it s a dream and Owen,
using his free will, only wants to fulfill his

First PostThere were many culprits in the subprime loan debacle in the United States starting
somewhere around the middle of 2006. Gilbert (2011) state many levels of contributors participated
in this mortgage lending crisis. Gilbert (2011) portends some of these included loan applicants,
mortgage brokers, lenders, individual mortgage packagers, agencies that rate mortgages, investment
brokers, and advisers, and purchasers of the collateralized mortgage obligations (Gilbert, 2011).
People are advised to establish credit early in life to be able to buy homes and automobiles to live
comfortably in the future to obtain the American Dream . Therefore, a person will need to build a
credit history before a lending institution allows them to borrow funds. With that, a person who
manages his credit well would not have been included in the subprime lending scandal because
they would not be considered a risk. However, those individuals that had sub standard credit scores
of 570 and less were offered loans which they could not afford and caused a major default in the
financial industry.

The author manages to create great suspense, and the reader is left with so many questions in
the first pages of the text. The title Departure Time creates a feeling of a time limit and pressure
to the reader. Why does the main character have a time to departure, where is she going, and
what is she leaving behind? The text relies deeply on reverse foreshadowing and small
suggestion in order to capture the reader s attention and create suspense: Then lifts the little
cardigan to her face breathing in. How long will his smell last? Will she suck it all out? A sudden
panic makes her insides lurch (p.1 l. 22). Little hints from the past are slowly opening up to the

them are given. Names are mention but relations are not revealed until page two, which is

Changes In Joan Aiken s Short Story Third Wish
Joan Aiken short story, The Third Wish, takes place in the forest of Savernake. Mr.Peters is
miserable about life and wishes for a wife to be beautiful as the forest. Leita once was a swan
until Mr.Peters turns her into a human by a wish. She misses her sister and her old life in the
forest. The Forest king is a person that gives Mr.Peters the three wishes. The Forest king isn t
really a substandard guy, but he does try to depress the narrator and is disrespectful. By using
description and feelings/emotions, Joan Aiken creates the lesson that it takes some time to be use
to change.
Change shines through the short story as a central issue impacting all characters in the story.

The descriptive sentence, But I miss the old life in the forest, the cool grass the mist rising off
the river at sunrise and the feel of the water sliding over my feathers as my sister and I drifted
along the stream, shows that leita misses her old life in the forest with her sister (1). Mr.Peters is
so desperate for wife and doesn t realise that Leita is miserable and misses her old life. Aiken uses
this descriptive imagery sentence to show how miserable Leita is, as Mr.Peters turns her into a
human. Her feelings/emotions is not the only way she utilizes craft to thrive this idea. The
description in the short story shows Leite s miserableness. Aiken explains how miserable Leita
is, even though she is inlove with Mr.Peters. They feel miserable Leita, what is it? he asked, very
troubled. This is my sister, she answered. I can t bear being separated from her. Now he
understood that Leita was really a swan from the forest, and this made him very sad because when
a human being marries a bird it always leads to sorrow (2). These quotes show the similarities
Leita and Mr.Peters are feeling, and makes them even more miserable. Although some may agree
that this feelings/emotions for each other is simply to allow the reader to feel what kind of
experience both of them are going through. The feelings/emotions Leita has for her sister shows
that clearly she misses her sister and her old life. The author also describes Leita in a way that
makes the reader feel miserable for her. Aiken uses feelings/emotions, This is my sister, she
answered. I can t bear being separated from her. to show Leita as dispirit and miserable (2). She
is portrayed as a miserable wife who misses her old life. This shows the pain Leita is feeling as a
result of the adeptness in her life. Along with the descriptive sentences, these feelings/emotions
create Aiken s unique writing

SOM Teacher Observation
After completing the SOLOM teacher observation assignment I received great information about
where my student stands and what areas he has room for improvements so that I can better his
learning. My student has great comprehension skills. This is definitely his strongest skill out of
the other four. He understood all directions given to him. He did have trouble understanding one
word on his quiz so he asked his teachers for help. Under comprehension, I would give him a 4.
He was able to understand what the teacher was saying and had no trouble on neither his quiz or
test. If he was able to comprehend his quiz fully I would have given him a 5.
One area where my student struggle was fluency. During the class, he asked a question and he had
trouble making a complete sentence. I gave my student a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He only missed 4 out of 10 questions on his vocabulary test. I would rate his vocabulary skills at
a 3. The only reason why I gave my student a 3 and not a 4 is because he still struggled to
understand some of the vocabularies that was on the quiz and struggled using the right words in his
conversations.
His pronunciation is definitely one of the biggest areas for improvements. I would rate my
student at a 2 under pronunciation because at times it is very hard to understand him. There are
certain sounds that he picks up right away and knows how to use it in a sentence. He is still able
to say what is on his mind and you are still able to understand what he is saying; it is just difficult
at times to understand him.
Grammar is another area where my student did well at. After looking over his journal writing for the
day there were very few little mistakes. The teacher said that she is amazed at how well he can
write for how long he has been in school in the US. I would rate his grammar score at 4. There were
still some errors in his writing but overall did really

Sparkling wine normally stands out because of its fizzy appearance as well as the effervescence
wine taste, due to the significant amount of carbon dioxide. Sparkling wine is produced through
four main methods: Method Traditionnelle/ Champenoise, MВђthode Ancestrale, Method Charmat
and the Injection method. All of these methods utilize two fermentation processes, as opposed to
just one as in the still wines. The sweetness of the sparkling wine is determined by the amount of
sugar added after the second fermentation as well as the aging.

It stated the CIA failed to take heed of the indicators Howard demonstrated and refused to admit an operations officer could betray the agency. • 7. I Hate Children s Theater I hate children s theater! I despise the term, and yet I love creating work for children. Calling my practice Children s theater limits possibilities, as many consider this field of performance more educational rather than holding high artistic merits, which leaves me frustrated. I am an artist, not a schoolteacher, and have seen work for young audiences from all over the world with the highest artistic quality; an aesthetic I strive to achieve. This perspective can be a challenge to express when I meet people, as I have to navigate multiple terms and narratives for the cast of stakeholders in my practice. As a result, a game of Hopscotch Discourse develops and sends me skipping through a language obstacle course to win an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They could be picturing the time when their school teacher casts them to play the tree in the school play. To prevent this, I tell the artists I make children s theater for people who hate children s theater . In other words, I kill animals on stage puppet animals to be exact. Parents die, no child learns a lesson, and sometimes, we don t even use a narrative. This explanation sparks a laugh in artists and generates interest in my practice and gives me the ability to produce the kind of shows that I want to create. Ultimately, my voice gets invited into the diverse circle of artists who create work for adults. Talking points must adjust as I jump to the next stakeholder. I rely on an ecosystem to make theater and depend solely on an audience to support my artistic practice and value system. Without the value system supported, the work and those who create it will not thrive. I strive to make meaningful, inclusive content with a high production value and pay a fair wage to every artist involved with the company. Accessibility becomes a top priority, striving to reach as many differently abled, racial and economically diverse children an opportunity to come to the show. To adhere to these values, I need an audience to buy tickets to support this work. Consequently, the sustainability of my practice no longer relies on standard institutional models; it depends on moms. Years ago, I realized grants drained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Martin Luther King Jr Influence For centuries, African Americans and indigenous peoples have been overlooked, discriminated against, and seen as inferior for one reason: the colour of their skin. Over time, society has evolved in many ways due to many people s courage and determination, notably Martin Luther King Jr a Baptist Minister and the leader of multiple civil rights protests and movements. In Australia, Aboriginal people were granted voting rights before Federation in 1901, but only if they had served in the army and were over 21. It wasn t until 1962 that all Aboriginal Australians were allowed to vote. In 1924, all Native Americans were granted the right to vote, regardless of cultural connection. He shifted the world s balance and changed the way people see. In the modern day, society are more trusting and inclusive of people from different cultures every day, and King was the spark that lighted that fire of equality. To order King s most to least successful achievements and attempts, I could not decipher, as his entire career was a complete success and society would not be where we are today if it weren t for each accomplishment. But to name all his massive political triumphs in order of their occurrence I can: King was chosen to head the Montgomery Improvement Association, he became the youngest recipient of the Spingarn Medal, he became president of a group known as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, he led a nonviolent army to protest against discrimination in Albany, he campaigned to achieve the desegregation of many public facilities in Birmingham, he received a Nobel Peace Prize, he led a drive to register black voters in Selma, Alabama, he conducted a five day march from Selma to the capitol in Montgomery, he organized protests against the city s discrimination in housing and employment, he inspired and planned the Poor People s Campaign, a march on Washington, D.C., and was ... Autism spectrum disorder, schizotypy and psychopathy will be further inspected and researched through a transdiagnostic approach treating these disorders as impairments of the underlying cognitive system instead of as a difference in entity. Gray et al (2010), tries to define the aforementioned disorders with both an agency (cognitive abilities and control) and an experience (primitive or animalistic behaviours) score which are underlying aspects of mindperception. Mind perception can either be defined as overperception, perceiving a nonexistent mind, or underperception, failing to perceive those with an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The research was conducted with results from Self Report online questionnaires designed to assess Autism, Schizotypy Personality and Psychopathy. Every participant were asked to complete web versions of the Autism Spectrum Quotient scale (AQ), the Schizotypy Personality Questionnaire (SPQ B) and the Self Report Psychopathy Scale (SPR III). To encourage participants to be honest with their answers, respect for participants rights and dignity was sustained through getting rid of a subscale from SPR III that may had confidentiality concerns. Correlations for agency and experience were adjusted to make sure no third variable influences or confounds are included in the final result. Any significant correlations were adjusted to maintain the transparency of the results. These questionnaires included questions that not only concerns men and women but of other entities such: as dogs, baby, dead women, God, robot, Superman, and trees. With assessment of these agency and experience correlation scores, the researchers can validate the influences of these mental disorders with social perception. Having a selection of different choices on the questionnaire strengthens and allows an accurate representation of how these individuals perceive the entities, especially if they can be categorized. If one were to find an outlier, then perhaps there s a special subjective view of that entity by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Supporting Empirical Law With Graphical Analysis Supporting Empirical Law with Graphical Analysis INTRODUCTION Much of the new and impressive science throughout history naturally originates from theory; many great and important mathematical and scientific discoveries come about by excellent thinking. This does not mean that these findings do not have evidence; even Galileo conducted experiments to support his claims. However many brilliant theorists work in a field, physical science derives certain laws only through experimentation and discovery. An empirical law shows itself to be true not by theory, but by repeated observations and trials. This experiment discovered the empirical law that predicts the period of a simple pendulum through graphical analysis. The length of time taken for a simple pendulum to finish a period cannot be hypothesized on the laws of physics alone. The empirical law of a simple pendulum, which was revealed after experimentation had concluded, written: T=2.00в€ љl+0 means that the time, T, of the period of the simple pendulum equals twice the square root of the length. It was hypothesized that the data collected would support the empirical, within reasonable percent error. By determining the graphical relationships between different variables and their effect on the period of the pendulum, the raw data revealed an equation. In the past century, sports have wrestled with these questions on how to qualify and quantify gender. By addressing these issues, whether intentional or not, the sports world has certainly broken down some barriers to transgender equality. Nevertheless, there is certainly more work to do to further progress transgender equality in sports and arguably it is the moral obligation of the sports world to pursue such equality. Ultimately, transgender people should have the right to pursue competitive careers that match their gender identity. Before addressing the issue of transgender equality in sports one must first understand what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The argument centers around the idea that female transgender athletes may have unfair advantages over their competitors due to their strength or height that is a byproduct of testosterone (Time, 2015). This proposal has multiple flaws. First, there is the misconception that female transsexual athletes keep the physical strength of their previously male body, but this claim is not supported by medical facts (Krane Barak, 2012). Specifically, studies have shown that after one year a transitioning transsexuals testosterone levels drop to be consistent with those of a cisgender female athlete, their muscle mass decreases, their body fat redistributed to match their identity, [and] bone density is decreased (Krane Barak, 2012). Consequently, researchers have concluded that female transsexuals can compete in sports without having an inherent physiological advantage (Krane Barak, 2012). Now, some may argue that based on this evidence only transsexual athletes should be allowed to compete, which brings up my second point: the pervasive idea that male athletes are inherently superior to female athletes. Not only is such an idea sexist in nature, it is also discriminatory. In general, transgender males do not tend to face as much opposition to allow them to play competitively (Time, 2015). Society Versus the Individual Essay Society Versus the Individual The adage, the proper study of man is man , aside from its obvious gendered exclusion, describes mounds of writing and thought about society and its components. Debates rage on in virtually all fields with variations on the same theme: society versus the individual. In the writings of Durkheim, Sahlins, and Foucault, the individual as coherent, persistent, and in control dissolves and is subsumed, to different extents, within society. For the first two, society dominates the individual to a large degree but not entirely. For Foucault, however, the entire terms of the debate seem meaningless, as both are constructs of one larger mode of discursivity: the power/knowledge game that creates the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously, these philosophical distinctions do not necessarily preclude subjectivity or make one feel any less free , but the move is important strategically. If the subject is, while not an illusion (Foucault 29), fabricated by discourse, it becomes a politicized space that can have various destructive or productive effects. Beyond being merely arbitrary, Foucault offers some solid reasons the individual may be politically undesirable. On the one hand, the concept of an individual subject with relative autonomy, coherence, persistence, and so forth is far from internally cogent. If the subject is partially determined, and partially free, the theory doesn t say much at all because free remains undefined. If the freedom has behavior, patterns, or rules then it is not free, but if it is random, it is just as meaningless to call it free. Further, if the subject is only free in certain cases, but is not free to determine what those cases are, then it cannot control its own freedom, and is thus again unfree. Even if the self were considered entirely free, which can only be established of course by non falsifiable decrees such as the Sartrean insistence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Summary Of The Poem XIV By John Walcott From the very beginning of the poem XIV , it is clear the author is describing an experience that has left a lasting impression on him. Walcott vividly details his childhood visit with the elderly storyteller, and his journey there. Throughout the poem the author uses poetic devices to convey how this experience was a defining moment in his transformation from childhood to adulthood, and contributed to his identity and newfound wisdom. It is apparent from the first line of the poem that author is in a stateof overriding fear travelling through the unknown: likening the road to an old snake shedding its skin. A snake is a clear representation of childhood fear and youthful paranoia, due to its intimidating nature. Walcott compares the path to a snake because he fears it just like a snake, to him the path is daunting and potentially deadly at first. The author not only compares the road to a snake but a snake shedding its skin. This paints a grotesque image for readers and illustrates how he views his initial journey with anything but enthusiasm. The author is in the unfamiliar wilderness searching for not only the storytellers house but himself. His state of childhood terror is only counterbalanced by his encounter with the storyteller. Walcott effectively separates the poem into two parts according to the state of mind he was in: fright and then wonder. He shifts from these two contrasting moods by stating There s childhood, and there s childhood s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My memories of playing the games with my friends, being excited about a new video game console, and the pure anticipation of buying the new and hottest video games still stick with me today. I was glued to my Nintendo 64 and could not stop playing Super Mario 64 and NFL Blitz. I was like Wade in Ready Player One, I did not care what was happening around me, all I wanted to do was play my Nintendo 64. Like Wade said in Ready Player One, Going outside is highly overrated (Cline, P.267) I found this funny because as a kid this is exactly how I felt. Anyways after the Nintendo 64 phase grew old, it was all about the Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation and Play Station Portable. Sadly my parents never bought me the Gameboy but they made up for it by buying me three of those four systems. My house had turned into a video arcade, my friends always couldn t wait to come over. What can I say my house was the place to be as a kid. As usual this phase grew old and then it was all about the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. • 35. The Positive And Negative Influences Of Reality Shows The purpose of this source is to measure the positive and negative influences of reality television programs on preteen and adolescent girls whom age ranges from eleven to seventeen years old. In this source, many studies are conducted to observe the behavior of the adolescent girls after they watched reality shows. For example, researchers found that if adolescent girls watched cosmetic surgery reality shows, they would have higher disordered eating attitudes than others would. On the contrary, some investigators discovered cosmetic surgery reality programs could in fact bring positive influence to teenage girls by letting them to know the benefits of cosmetic surgery. Therefore, researchers conclude young adults are more willing to change their appearance through cosmetic surgery after they have seen cosmetic surgery reality shows and that proves positive outcomes indeed exits in reality shows. Another study is created to examine the realness of reality televisionshows. It is implemented because people are becoming concern that reality shows are often scripted and they do not necessary indicate reality. Although the source does not explicitly explain why people s perception of the realness of reality show is important, it reveals if a reality televisionhas an impact on viewers behavior, then these shows will be considered as real. Based on these studies, researchers conclude the category of each reality show will determine whether there is a positive or negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Analysis Of A Man Runs Into A Woman A Man Runs into a Woman by Sarah Jane Barnett There s a lot going on in A Man Runs into a Woman, yet nothing happens as well. Sarah Jane Barnett explores the different means of telling an individual s story; a cross dressing father interacts with her daughter, a couple tries to connect with each other after the war, another couple leaves the worst unsaid, and two middle aged strike up an unlikely friendship. A series of stringed distinctive poems tries exploring the grim police reports of the death of Texas death row inmates and their heartfelt last words, before their ultimatum. The book is divided in three parts. The middle ones are the longest and is devoted to the last sentiments of death row prisoners, facing the ultimatum in America. The links that joins the poems in the second part is the description of the crimes, what the prisoners had done, which had landed them where they are in the current scenario. Sarah writes the poems, in a sense, she s announcing to the world of what she thinks a poem should look like. The Jeffery Levine (2011) website states that the poems, one writes while urging wittingly or unconsciously is an aesthetic, that should be the ones that belong in the book (para. 6). Sarah Jane Barnett s main concerns is with the movement of impact, in slow motion, and its aftermath, as reflected by the title. It is very introspecting in retrospect, the texts. The research question will highlight in some ways activities that individual do on their own to care for their disease, such as diet, regular monitoring of blood sugar levels and following up with their health care providers as recommended through their plan of care (Polit Beck, 2012). It also will show emphasis of the health promotion model, incorporating the health promoting behaviors through modification of their prior behaviors to ones that will allow them to live a somewhat healthier life with their new diagnosis. In the same token, the patients will have to have conscious awareness of the benefits of this change in their lifestyle, identify the barriers that can hinder the change from happening and know what benefits they will get out of it so they can enable themselves to commit to more health promoting behaviors (Polit Beck, 2012). This model can help nurses empower their patient to advocate for their health, to understand that they have to coexist with their environment (interpersonal and situational barriers) and yet still able to learn to make wise choice, especially when it comes to health, and be able to relate priorities (Ho, Berggren, Dahlborg Lyckhage, 2010). Relationship marketing is different from any other form of marketing. The reason for this is that relationship marketing identifies the long term value of customer relationships and relationship marketing extends communication beyond intrusive advertising and sales promotional messages. Relationship marketing is an arrangement where both the buyer and seller have an interest in providing a more satisfying exchange. Also I will explain what the benefits are of relationship marketing to a business and to a customer. I also will explain the CRM stages, segmentation, technology in relation to relationship marketing and I will do a case study. I am looking at Boots for my case study. I will explain how Boots have managed to build valuable relationships with its customers. Relationship Marketing Relationship marketing is the process of attracting, maintaining and enhancing relationships with key individuals over time. Businesses use one on one communication to earn the loyalty of their target audience. One of the most expensive and difficult tasks facing any business is acquiring new customers. Acquiring a new customer can cost five times as much as retaining an existing customer. Research has shown that 2% increase in customer retention can decrease costs by as much as 10% for a business. To retain current customers, businesses engage in relationship marketing strategies to continually attract repeat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Ethan Watters The Mega Marketing of Depression in Japan, Watters demonstrates the idea of how capitalism and advertisements make one selfish and exploit the idea of happiness. It is important to understand that when people introduce ideas to others, there is an underlying sense of selfishness motivating this action. While GenMe can reverse its course, it would be better for GenMe to change completely as that would allow for GenMe to not be selfish, like the Boomers. When the Boomers proposed ideas to GenMe, GenMe accepted the ideas due to lack of self control over his or her brain. The way for GenMe to become better individuals lies in cultivating self awareness, which will allow GenMe to improve on its weaknesses, envision how certain decisions can affect one, and become less self interested. However, due to societal norms and the way in which the brain works, one can tend to believe that self awareness can decrease self absorbance and hurt one s own image of self worth, which is not true. Hence, it can be tough for one to accept his or her weaknesses. While the key for cultivating self awareness depends on an individual s will, it also depends on the society. How simple it is to imagine a life of adventure in a distant land. But if we allow it life can be an exhilarating adventure. Each exciting moment in life can be a new page in our autobiography. Our aspirations are simply the parameters on our life path some simple, some beyond the bounds of possibility. Our aspirations are equally important as life itself; aspirations are the breath of life, chalice of salvation. Unless we aspire we will expire. They define our life path, they tell us where to go, what we want to become and where our lives are headed. Unlike all other living things which are content to be, humans are driven to become greater. From the beginning of human civilisation we expanded empires, extended dynasties and expressed feelings through art. Our lives today were simply founded on the aspirations of our forefathers. As history progresses, human s dissatisfaction with the limits nature has imposed on him has caused us to aspire to go faster, further, deeper and higher. The profession of the contemporary newspaper typist saw a change in corporate culture wherein the clock became a powerful object, owned only by the foreman and governing the employees. It seems, however, that Moore s depiction of time is more appropriately a reflection of Ginger s fixation on the myth of the new world as a land of boundless opportunity. Indeed, the clock does seem to be independent of the diurnal cycle: As [Coffey] started off, the sun moved west, unadmitted by the pall clouds which all day had curtained the frozen river and the city islanded within it . . . Four forty five (117). This image of the sun being blocked from the city by clouds demonstrates the city s apparent ignorance for the sun s position in the sky, yet the passage continues on, repeatedly referring to the passing minutes as Coffey makes his way to the Tribune. One thing that time does not seem so independent from, however, is the lives of the office workers in the financial district, waiting release as the minute hand moved slowly towards the hour (117). At five o clock . . . down came the office workers, spilling out into the streets (117); at five thirty . . . [another] policeman . . . invited Coffey to cross [the street] (117). Once again Siddhartha asked his charioteer to take him out into the city; this time he was to see the last of four images that would change his life forever. The last sight he saw was a wandering old holy man with no possessions. His head was completely shaved and he was wearing a yellow robe. SOM Teacher Observation After completing the SOLOM teacher observation assignment I received great information about where my student stands and what areas he has room for improvements so that I can better his learning. My student has great comprehension skills. This is definitely his strongest skill out of the other four. He understood all directions given to him. He did have trouble understanding one word on his quiz so he asked his teachers for help. Under comprehension, I would give him a 4. He was able to understand what the teacher was saying and had no trouble on neither his quiz or test. If he was able to comprehend his quiz fully I would have given him a 5. One area where my student struggle was fluency. During the class, he asked a question and he had trouble making a complete sentence. I gave my student a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He only missed 4 out of 10 questions on his vocabulary test. I would rate his vocabulary skills at a 3. The only reason why I gave my student a 3 and not a 4 is because he still struggled to understand some of the vocabularies that was on the quiz and struggled using the right words in his conversations. His pronunciation is definitely one of the biggest areas for improvements. I would rate my student at a 2 under pronunciation because at times it is very hard to understand him. There are certain sounds that he picks up right away and knows how to use it in a sentence. He is still able to say what is on his mind and you are still able to understand what he is saying; it is just difficult at times to understand him. Grammar is another area where my student did well at. After looking over his journal writing for the day there were very few little mistakes. The teacher said that she is amazed at how well he can write for how long he has been in school in the US. I would rate his grammar score at 4. There were still some errors in his writing but overall did really ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
